Description of Work: I had been using Gibson for a few years since I bought a house. My house was built in 1990 and had the original AC. I realized it would not live for too long before needing to be replaced. So I had been paying for maintenance calls twice a year. During the last summer, I had another maintenance visit and he checked and found nothing. I thought this odd because I reported that the house had been more difficulty to cool of late. He said all was well and left. About 3 days later, my system failed alltogether. A different tech came and said it was my sequencer. He replaced that and left. The next day, my home wouldn't cool below 85 degrees despite my thermostat being set at 80. They came again 2 days later. Said there was a restriction. Spent several hours and then said it must be the sequencer. I told them that was what had just been replaced. He looked at me strange. I produced the receipt from 2 days before. He made a phone call and said they would replace it again. But not today. |Days go by, in Vegas heat. They come back to replace it again. Yet another tech. After replacing it again, he then finds that it doesn't solve the problem. He says my heat strips are cutting on when the ac turns on. He rigs the sequencer in order to keep the heat strips permanently off. This makes the house cooler, but he says there's a restriction. I told him the last tech spent hours trying to fix that and produced the last receipt. He looked around at a few things, told me hat my unit had a number of problems and that it would eventually need to be replaced. Of course I knew this, so I appreciated his honesty. I requested a quote to replace both units (totalling 5.5 tons). He helped me schedule this. |I also knew when I bought the house that I didn't have enough ton-age of my HVAC system for the square footage of my house. The estimator came to our house and spent probably less than 5 minutes looking around. He said he would email a quote. About 4 days past the deadline he provided, I followed up on getting that quote. He apologized for the delay and made some excuses. He then emailed me a price. $17,000. Roughly 7k for each unit and 3k for ductwork. That was the entirety of the estimate. It did not include what ton this new HVAC system would be or even the brand. I tried contacting him back several times and never got a response. So I called to report the problem with his supervisor. I got the company VP. |I told her that I had previously had good experience with Gibson for years up until the last few months and that I was very disappointed. She asked why I was disappointed with the spreadsheet estimate. I told her that I didn't get a spreadsheet estimate and that I simply got a price with no further information. She responded, "Oh..." |She said she would get him to clarify the estimate and answer questions on how he calculated ton-age, what brand would this system be, what kind of warranty would be issued, etc. He eventually emailed back, barely addressing my questions at bare minimum. So I did my research and got other quotes. I eventually purchased my HVAC system with a better and more reliable brand than offered by Gibson, including duct work, for just under 10K. That's 7 thousand less for better service and a better product. I used to rely on Gibson, but they lost my business for good when their customer service reflected their lack of dedication to providing the customer with a reliable and reasonably priced service.

The service tech arrived on time, happy, friendly and very knowledgeable. Performed the work with explanations of everything that he was doing and why. Explained in detail what repairs might be needed in the future and why.
Description of Work: Needed to have routine service on the A/C. The service tech was very knowledgeable and honest. He showed us parts that were wearing out and let us know approx. how long it would be before they needed replacing rather than trying to get us to replace things now. I have had them out several times since to check on a thermostat issue, which turned out to be the problem of a recently joined power share program.

When I called to make the apt. for A/C service, I was also told about the combination service they had which would service my A/C now, and my heater in the winter. This combination service saved me a lot of money! When the service tech came out, he was polite and honest. He explained what he did to each unit, what needed to be replaced soon, and what needed to be replaced at some point in the future (a season or two). I had the same tech come out to do the added repair and he was again very prompt, honest and polite. He said that they would send me a reminder card when it was time to schedule the apt. to have the heater serviced.
Description of Work: Summer service on 3 A/C units. Related later visit were to replace a component that was making one unit work harder.

The installation of the A/C was great but with part of that we were suppose to get a energy efficient rebate. It has been almost a year to get this done. We called them monthly and got continues excuses for why they could not come out.

I was satisfied with the service of Gibson Air. This company was quick to respond to my needs and cleaned up behind themselves very well leaving no mess. It is uncommon to have service as good as Gibson Air offered.
Description of Work: Gibson Air removed a bad switch on my existing central heating and air conditioning unit and installed a new one. This unit is my main source of heating and air conditioning in my 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home.

I have been doing business with Gibson for about two years and I have a contract that I pay which includes two inspections per year. I find the people at Gibson to be professional and clean with their work. They do not try to up-sell me on anything. After the work is done, I receive a report as to the condition of the unit. I am very satisfied with Gibson and will continue to use their services.

Gibson Air responded to my call in a timely manner. During the heatwave here, they managed to get my new unit installed very fast. They were hard workers and they knew what they were doing. I have had no problems whatsoever with the new unit.
Description of Work: They took off the old air conditioning unit from the top of our home and installed a new unit.They hauled away the old unit.
