The owner was receptive but could not translate that into quality service. New guys all of the time who did not know what I expected even though I laid it out up front.

Great the owner John had come out for review, estimate and schedule. The original schedule day it was raining. John called and we rescheduled. Then worker showed up on schedule and got to work. He was efficient and got the job done. Asked questions to ensure he was doing what I wanted. Great job.

The owner gave us a verbal bid for a general clean up, trimming existing bushes and Oleanders after inspecting the property. His first bid was $340.00. I explained that I was sorry to waste his time, but may regular gardener charged $160 for a quarterly clean up but Monday morning the painters were to arrive and my regular man was tied up and I had to have the work completed. I said I would call someone else. John said he could do it on Sat for $200.00. We agreed and Sat came. They were to be on the job between 11am and 1:00pm. John called and said he was running late and could he could start at about 2:00pm. Again I said I understood and I appreciated that he called. He and two helpers arrived and started work. From the beginning he complained that this was more work than he counted on. When he started on the trimming of the hedges he told me he was sorry but this was more work than he counted on and I could pay him for the work completed and said he was very sorry. Being on the hook I told him if he would complete the hedges and general clean up I would do the Oleanders myself. I gave him an extra $50.00. My wife and I trimmed the oleanders and took a load to the dump. For those of you that are married you can guess when I will live this down. What work that they did was good, but I broke the "cardinal rule" get it in writing. Never any work without a written estimate.

The crew of three young men arrived on time, and the work proceeded very quickly. I was very impressed by the polite, professional manner they all exhibited. They all knew their tasks and worked almost silently and efficiently. Their clean up was nothing short of amazingly complete. Subsequently, they were called back when it was thought that a pipe froze in a rare freeze, but although I was losing 1,000 gallons per day, a new pipe did not stop it. There wasdeep concern that there might be a broken pipe under the house slab. In March 2013, I called the owner, John Ortlieb, and asked him to come verify that I had a leak and try to locate it before I was forced to get additional help. In summary, John arrived early one morning and quickly found a serious leak in the backyard irrigation control solenoids (his November 2012 work never took him back there before). He left and returned with the needed parts and fixed no only the leak, but another solenoid which would fail soon. The cost of that work was only $150.

My experience with them went fairly well. It wasn't the best in the sense that I never quite knew how much they were going to charge for certain things and so on. Their work was good. When we call them, they generally came when they said they would. I would possibly use them again but I have to make certain that I knew what the basic things were before I'd use them again.

They are excellent. They do an excellent job. They always clean up the yard well. When the yard gets done it is beautiful. If they are running behind on a job, they will call you and let you know. They come over when they say they are coming over. You can communicate with them very well. I am very happy with my yard, and I recommend them to people.
