Description of Work: My Jenn-Air oven was not working. The technician from Allstate said it was either the thermostat or the safety valve. He did not know which one. He gave me an estimate of $600.00 to fix the oven, saying he would order both parts and see which one fixed the problem. He was not friendly, and it was difficult to understand him. When I asked questions regarding how he came to the price of $600 he was defensive and abrupt. I recently had another company (Appliance Repair Experts) come out to look at the oven, and they were able to fix the oven quickly, without ordering parts. Their charge was $135.00 total. It turns out the problem was NOT the thermostat OR the safety valve, but rather a wiring harness. Their technician was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely NOT recommend Allstate Appliance Repair. Either their technician did not know what he was doing, or he was trying to rip me off. (I personally think it was the latter.)
