Description of Work: Never heard back so I called them. We knew they were working another job when Scotty came out for the initial visit so we waited 4 weeks (the time frame he told us he needed to complete his current project). He told us he was finishing his current project and would come over the following day with his ideas and estimate. Scott never called or showed up, we never heard from him again. This is a small town, he happens to live on the same street as a family member, went over to visit family on the day he was "finishing up" the other project...the project was his kids bike and his front yard, nothing wrong with that just don't lie! If you don't want to take on a project, just say so. Don't leave people waiting and wondering. Very unprofessional.

Description of Work: They landscaped our front yard. The work they did was good and we like the yard but the owner's unprofessionlism over-shawdowed the job they did. He told us before we hired him we would be involved through the whole process of the yard being landscaped; he did not consult with us about how we wanted anything after he started the job. When it was time to plant the shrubs and etc. I went out to let him know where I wanted them placed and he got totally irate about how many plants I had purchased for the yard. He was yelling at me in front of his help about how ridiculous it was the amount of plants I purchased for the yard and he wasn't going to plant all of them and didn't I know the plants were going to get big and grow into each other and that I would be out there all the time doing yard maintenance!! You would have thought that I was working for him not him working for us! His foreman was a nice person so I worked with him getting the shrubs planted where I wanted them and did not deal with the owner after that. It's unfortunate his attitude is so bad because he could be a good landscaper if he would lose the attitude "it's done my way or not at all."

They had agreed to removed dead trees, put in watering system, enlarge patio, remove old sidewalk, put in decorative rock, make a special place for an angel statue with special lighting, put in a hanger for large wind chimes. I was on vacation when they called and said they could do it while I was gone. I let them do it for their convenience because we had discussed everything from what kind of plants (ornamental sage and ornamental grasses for zeroscape) to what color of rock to use. I returned and was disappointed in the size and quality of the plants. All I got was tiny lavender plants, some sort of plant that looked like a petite yucca but doesn't flower, and a few small spots of ice plant. They had removed the old sidewalk and trees safely without problem and put in the rock. They didn't build a place for the angel or supply lighting for it. They did build a wooden hanger for the large wind chimes but it wasn't even stained. The patio was enlarged and looked fine. I was left with no instructions about care of anything, but I was told that EVERYTHING including the plants was warranteed for a year. This summer I emailed them to let them know my watering system had gone off on its own and we couldn't check the backup battery. We were trying to reprogram the system but didn't even know how many zones we might have. The system kept booting us out. The pipes where the system went into the ground horizontally beneath my house were leaking contantly and exactly half of my plants were dead. A week to ten days later I called after receiving no reply. Scotty said he'd been on vacation and agreed half-heartedly to come and take a look. I made arrangements to be there and then received an email saying his vehicle was in the shop. While I was on vacation, my boyfriend had made arrangements to let him know which one of three days would work for Scotty to come by. Meanwhile I had a pet emergency that my boyfriend had to attend to and so he was at my home doing so when Scotty showed up unexpectedly. He reprogrammed the system and said he would take care of having someone fix the leak and replacing the plants in "a couple of days". Three weeks later he had not been back or sent anyone else to take care of any of it. My boyfriend called to remind Scotty what he had told him since he was the person Scotty had spoken with. Scotty told him he would be there the following Thursday. My boyfriend took the day off inconveniencing himself to be there for me, but Scotty nor anyone else from Moss and Sons showed up, emailed, or called to let us know what was going on. Another month has gone by and I've never heard anything from him. I drove 74 miles to go to a nursery and purchased $100 worth of plants, dug out the dead ones, enlarged the holes, and replaced nine plants myself. If I only paid $100 retail for plants to replace the ones the landscaper put in, then I can only imagine that his wholesale cost would have been much less for the puny plants he originally put in. I am done with dealing with this company or trying to get them to follow up on their own warranty. I do hope that they don't want referrals because I live in a small town and word of mouth matters here.

Cleared backyard of all debris, small rock, etc,, Prepared yard for low maintenance landscaping - drip lines, plants, one tree, smaller rock places in various spots as well as larger rock around existing cottonwood and finally "dg" compacted. It turned out very nice. It looks so much cleaner and easy to take care of!

We recently purchased a home in Fernley and the front yard needed to be removed and replaced. Moss and Sons Landscaping was landscaping a yard in my neighborhood and the yard turned out beautiful. Although I saw the quality of work first hand I did receive multiple quotes because we are on a fixed income and we did not have a lot of money to spend. We ended up hiring Moss and Sons Landscaping and we are so pleased with our yard. We will be calling them back out to do the back yard next year.

The trees that were planted were brown leaves and damaged and deceased. Also were not planted deep enough and when the one tree had been pulled out I found suckers coming up in lawn.Had to work 3 months at insect kill to save hopefully. trees were butchered and the limbs still hanging over roof per order to not be. some branches had to be re cut due to not being trimmed when pointed out. said they were fine, then wind came up and 2 trees had to have cut the limbs.. Had to rethatch back lawn myself with rake, The gate that had to be fixed was secured with one screw in the 2 by 4. Had to have the gate redone and did the fence at the time and remove wood strips left there. When doing trimming on trees left oil on patio cement and had to call to come and clean it up, which was again I had to re clean it since it wasn't done right. After all this I thought well at least I am happy with the cement work. When I called and then put an honest report on complaints board the owner calls and threatens me to take it off or he will take legal action. So no I am not happy with his unprofessionalism. He says he will fix the cracks in the cement that are cracking like a shattered mirror. So this was a very bad experience for me.
Description of Work: trees trimmed, aerating thatching, cement work. 2 trees put in 1 pulled out. fixed damage gate from cement work.

The concrete patio is holding up so far, but we haven't filled the new hot tub spa yet. The decomposed granite is blowing away and weeds are popping up all around. The ground cover plantings we paid for are gone. We found out the this landscaper purchased these plants on sale at Lowe's. They were on sale because they were frost bit. Also, if you purchase plants at Lowe's on sale they do no warrenty them. The grass. shrubs and watering systems are all good so far. This landscaper is not quite up to the standard one might expect.
Description of Work: We contracted with this landscaper to do our entire yard and expand our concrete patio. Initally all of his work looked good. Then after a few weeks the decomposed granite started to blow away and reveal the weed stop fabric. Then we noticed weeds comming through the fabric. The ground cover plantings all died. We call this landscaper to address our concerns. First we got excuses, then he came and replace the ground cover plants with day lillys, not what we originally paid for. He told us we could by a weed control chemical from him at a cost of $75.00 per gallon and could only be got through him. The grass that was installed is doing well and the shubs are doing well. The weeping and sprinklers he insalled are working fine.
