Eric Gothan

Eric is my next door neighbor and through several casual conversations I decided when my mother was ready to sell her home in Silver Springs, Nevada that Eric would be the realtor my shy mother would feel comfortable with and be able to trust implicitly. After my father died, my mother had a very tough time dealing with his death as well as maintaining her property on an acre of land. I asked Eric to give me some preliminary assistance regarding selling her property for her with the understanding that she may not be ready to sell until the following year. He completely understood and drove by my mother's property without disturbing her. Eric and I had a few conversations over the course of a year regarding the property and finally my mother was ready to make the monumental step of selling her home of 26 years and purchase a home closer to where I live. My mom immediately felt comfortable with Eric and we got her home listed for sale. We also began to look for a new home in the town where I live and soon found one my Mom wanted to see. Eric arranged a showing and was very observant in pointing out the assets and possible deficits of the home. My mom fell in love with the house and did not want to look at any other homes. Eric was there every step of the way for the inspections and every other part of the home buying process. He thoroughly went over the mountain of paperwork that comes along with purchasing a new home. Whenever we had questions he always responded quickly or made the necessary phone calls to find out the answer. He has fostered great connections with mortgage brokers, home warranty companies, title companies and local tradesman from which we benefited greatly. His knowledge goes beyond buying and selling real estate. It is apparent he draws upon his life experiences to assist his clients in various ways. This big step was an emotional one for my mom and he has been supportive, empathetic and diplomatic. Eric is humble and extremely hardworking. When the first offer on the home my mom was selling fell through, Eric was straight forward but very diplomatic. He had fostered the offer for a few months in an extremely diligent manner but due to personal issues on the buyer's behalf the escrow ended up being canceled. I thought my Mom would be devastated but having Eric at her side mitigated the situation and we have continued to work on getting her new home personalized. Eric is insightful and gets it that everyone is unique and need to be dealt with in a unique manner. We trust him implicitly and are always amazed at how Eric is extremely flexible in dealing with the unexpected situations that come up. He checks up on my mom to see how things are going at the new home and never keeps us in the dark regarding the ongoing sale of her other home. Professional, responsive, knowledgeable, insightful, courteous, hard working, empathetic and patient are all terms I would use to describe Eric Gothan.
