This doctor is a spine and pain management specialist. Recommended me to an orthopedic surgeon which was appropriate. He did rule out any spine problem compounding the hip issue. He didn't help with pain management at all, didn't even talk about it. While I was being x-rayed, he met with pharmaceutical reps. I had to walk past them in my weird examining room shorts to get back to the examining room which some people would consider a breach of privacy. He kept me waiting while he finished with the drug reps even though I was paying for his time. I think you can guess that this doctor is all about the drugs and the drug company perks. He told the drug reps that he wanted to get back to LA. I believe this doctor feels like he's slumming in the sticks. I don't believe he's developed any empathy for the people in this area or any feel for the place. He certainly didn't give any indication that he gave two hoots about me. Certainly didn't try to connect with me in any way. The things he actually did for me were robotic textbook.
Description of Work: Appointment was for pain management of arthritic hip. Was hoping to get several alternatives - chiropractic, PT, accupuncture, not treatment just limited to drugs. He did flexibility tests on hip, took x-rays of back to ensure that not part of the problem.

When I had originally made my appointment it had taken close to a month to get in for my first appointment. The doctor had THOUGHT that i had a bulging disc and prescribed me muscle relaxers and vicodin and recommend that I see a physical therapist and come back in about 1 and 1/2 months. I then run out of my prescriptions the first time, and it took them close to a week to refill! not only that it took the secretary 2 day to call me back. So the day I had my second doctors appointment my family and I had came down with the Swine Flu and had to go to the clinic and get med's. I had called to inform my doctor that I could not make my appointment because of having the flu and concerned with getting others sick, and I really was not up to driving 160 mile round trip being sick. They said that was fine and I had rescheduled and the soonest appointment was 3 weeks out. So I then go on a family vacation where I am down in southern California for about 2 weeks and had to refill my prescription again. I call to get it refilled and the doctor refuses to refill because of my appointment being canceled. I then call and explain that I had the flu and did not fill up to the drive and did NOT want to get anyone else sick! He then tells me to go to another doctor in southern California and get my prescription their! (go and pay another doctor?) This really didn't make any sense to me! I was so upset! I will never go back there again! Horrible communication with patients, the staff is very rude, and the doctor is over booked. I DO NOT RECOMEND ANYBODY TO SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!!!!
Description of Work: I was referred to Robin Tomita by my doctor that had delivered my second child. After having my son I had experienced sever lower back and hip pain. So bad that I couldn't lift my son some days!
