Description of Work: Painted a bathroom and textured the ceiling. The ceiling started to peel within a month; they returned and did the work again. Within about a month, the paint started peeling again. They tried to blame me, but after I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, they finally returned my money (although they made it in two payments that were almost a year apart). An estimate from a contractor to fix the damage is $800. Don't use them.

How'd it go? HORRIBLE! First of all, communication was lousy and completely unprofessional. I should have known from the start when it took 2-3 days to get a e-mail response to go with someone else. NGC came to paint a newly textured area and did not bother to re-mask or sand ANYTHING. They left the old/dirty mask on from the drywall contractor and didn't sand and of the bumpy texture that was left. As a result, they sprayed our wood floors, windows, tile, showers, light fixtures...you name it, it had paint on it. Not to mention they completely ruined our laundry room sink from washing out all their brushes. We also have to completely re-paint our back deck because it now has white paint sprayed all over it. Ya, don't ask. We were given a 4-6 day time from which turned into 10+ and when we returned from vacation expecting a finished house we got a disaster. Nothing was finished, trash was everywhere and NGC was not reachable. They turned their phones off and then had the audacity to call me the next day and ask to be paid for the work that was done. Not. A. Chance. This company was unprofessional and clearly did not have the skill set to do the work that needed to be done. We had a number of other bids to fix the mess say "this is the worst paint job we have ever seen." We ended up paying twice the amount to have it fixed not to mention the elbow grease it took me to remove all the paint from every surface of my house.
Description of Work: Hired to paint main level of our 3665 sq. ft. home including walls, ceilings, base boards and doors.

This person did not pay for anything to start with . They had a " unique " Mud crew come and put a questionable texture (if that's what it's being called) The drywall crew did not pick any of the mess they made up. [member name removed] felt it was ok to for me to clean up after her mud crew. We painted the ceilings and the walls 2 coats along with about 29 doors. I asked for a nominal 10% down upfront but I was hassled about and had to repeatedly ask to receive a simple upfront payment. Then [member name removed] asked me if I could " Get Marijuana for her and her husband's vacation." I gave [member name removed] a discount based on the information she told me that she had already prepped the house for painting and thus I should not charge as much. The house was a total disaster after the mud crew. I only received 10% of the total bill but completed 75% of the work. They came up with a 4 day deadline out of nowhere even though the painter they paid twice as much for was allotted the proper amount of time. The fact is I was never paid for all the work I did. I never told them the job was complete and they broke the contract agreement by not paying and coming up with an unreasonable deadline. Also we had come out the week before they said the job would be ready but funny thing , THEY HIRED AND FIRED 3 MUD CREWS BEFORE HIRING SOME " INTERNATIONAL" CREW. That delayed my work for a week and a half I was not compensated for having to remobilize. They are the typical Craigslist Homeowner, Trying pay sub industry standard rates and not paying anyways. This is not the first time I have dealt with people like this. As the painter I am not obligated to clean up the mud crews screw-ups which the whole house was a huge mess. I informed them about this and they informed me that is was my job to clean up after somebody else without compensation. I grew tired of being lied to and manipulated about payment so I moved on to the next job. A 4600sq' assisted living house that was completed without any problems. Oh yeah and I was paid. I think its unfair to have these malicious reviews just because some angry housewife that is completely ignorant of how the construction process works. The way I see it YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR A JOB BEFORE YOU CAN HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT IT. I probably had close to 80 man hours that was never paid for. Needless to say I was very unhappy with my experience with [member name removed], If I was asked about them words I would use to describe them would be: Thief , Hostile, Lame , Ignorant .

The job took approximately 4-5 months. Had Kevin and his assistant come daily from 8-5 as stated, it would not have taken so long. I understand that he was also doing other jobs, and there were personal issues with child care and family, but I expected a more professional presence. He would not show for several days in a row and I would not hear anything from him as to whether he was coming back to finish or not. He would work odd hours, come late and leave early. I liked Kevin and would have worked with him about the hours, if he would have contacted me, but he didn't. I can not recommend him. Maybe he was in over his head, and if so, he should have said something.
Description of Work: I had a leak in a pipe after a major freeze. When we turned the water off to find the leak, other water pipes froze. When they thawed, we ended up with a major flood. Kevin was able to come when no plumbers were available. When he arrived, he stated he could also do the sheet rock and interior painting and refinish the wood floors. This sounded terrific, as everyone in the county was having problems with busted water pipes. The estimate was fair if a little low, but what the insurance paid. He was very personable and seemed competent. As time went on, it seemed the job just kept growing. The small leak was found quickly, but in that process, he found a large rusted hole in the main drainage pipe. He fixed this pipe also. After fixing the plumbing, sheet rock and painting needed to be done. The painting, a lot of it--kitchen, dining room, entry, stairwell and hallway, were done slowly, and there were several areas that were not done as I had expected. There were several large drips on the walls, places where the paint didn't cover the previous paint well, and drops on the floor. When I pointed them out, the light spots were covered and the paint scraped off the floor, but the drips are still there. The job of sanding and re-varnishing the wood floors went very quickly, but was done poorly. There were areas where the sanding left grooves in the floor. There were areas where it looked like the varnish was poured on the floor to be spread around, but didn't get spread evenly. The floor wasn't swept before the varnish was applied, so there were small nails and other trash varnished over. The varnish abruptly ended at the edge of the door, not continued into the entry closet floor. When it was discussed to repaint the exterior where the plumbing was accessed, I passed.
