We had no phone service on either of our 2 lines. 1st repair person told me it was because our cordless phones needed new batteries. $60. later after replacing 2 handset batteries, still no service. Next service person found the wires at pole behind house were rotten and needed to be replaced all the way to the end of block. He also fixed (temporarily) our service. Next person came out to plan the operation and told me how they'd access the pole, etc. One other service person came out to say the work order had to be in by a certain deadline and then verified that it was. Nothing happened. I called again in December as our line quality had deteriorated and was scratchy and very poor quality. Another service tech came out and put a big orange pillowcase over the rotten wire junction to protect it from the wind, snow, etc. No repairs have been done to date. I signed up for high speed internet with Qwest (stupid me) a few months ago and since then, I;m unable to receive faxes as my special ring doesn't work. Call forwarding no longer works either. I've called about the fax service twice. First time, it was returned to working service. Then it went off again and never fixed. Still have a lot of scratchy sounds on the line intermittently. One Qwest employee hung up on me. During October 2010, my husband was dx'd with pancreatic cancer and died June 1, 2011. Altho I mentioned to repair service that it was importanat to have a working landline during such a critical time, no efforts have been made to repair the rotten lines on the pole behind our house. Meanwhile, they have the gall to charge me almost $90. @ month for this sorry service.
Description of Work: We had no phone service in October 2010. First repair tech told me to replace batteries in cordless handsets. That didn't do anything. 2nd repair tech actually fixed the service but warned that rotten wires on pole needed to be replaced. That never happened despite numerous calls to qwest repair. After making a report, I would receive an automated call notifying me that all service/work orders had been achieved. Not true. Still lousy quality audo quality.
