Earlier this year, i experienced a slow leak and extensive, associated black mold in my master bath. After a portion of the bath was removed and the mold remediated, I selected Hanks Custom Builders to do the remaining tear out and restoration/remodeling, based on a very thorough and reasonably priced estimate. Rene and, when needed, his associate, was here ever day, right on time until the project was finished. His experience, and background in graphic arts and custom construction greatly helped my decisions wrt tile selection and expert tile installation, tub, lighting and other accessories created a bathroom that greatly exceeds my expectations. Rene and his associate are personable, honest, and genuinely focused on delivering a superb project, and worked with me every day to be sure that the product was what i wanted. WRT unexpected issues that arise on nearly all remodel jobs, on tearing out my shower, he discovered that a building error in the initial construction 23 years ago resulted in a leaky window, the water from which completely rotted through the sheathing through to the exterior stucco. He quickly identified and implemented all the need repairs and ensured that my window will not leak again. I wish i had known about Hanks Custom Building several years ago when an error in original construction resulted in water damage to a third of my home, as well as for my kitchen remodel three years ago. I cannot say enough good things about Hanks Custom Building and i will be asking them to help me with another project in my home. Hire and work with Hanks Custom Builders and you will be very pleased with the result.

Never returned my phone call asking for a bid. Very unprofessional regardless of how busy the company may be. Lack of regard for basic customer service is an indicator that hired services will be treated the same way. It's fine if you don't want my work, but at least due me the courtesy of telling me.

Renee Hanks is a meticulous craftsman who is extremely knowledgeable. In spite of the fact that previous work on our new home was done in a shoddy and sloppy manner, Renee was able to correct the incompetent work done before and create something beautiful. He does the work himself with the help of his partner Lyndell and the services of a master electrician or plumber when needed. He does not show up with an inexperienced crew, which many contractors routinely do. He is punctual, shows up every day until the job is finished. This was a wonderful experience during the difficult process of renovation. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Completely professional and beautiful results.

As we had used Rene on two previous remodel jobs we knew his work was excellent. So when it came time to build our "retirement home" selecting a contractor was the easy part. Rene's attention to detail, informative recommendations and willingness to consider changes during the building process made the whole thing easier. Rene was reliable, kept us updated and he was always calm and reassuring when we started stressing about this or that. We would use him again in a heartbeat.

I plan to call Rene the next time I need construction/remodeling. I give him my highest recommendation (I am a hard grader!). Communication was easy and timely, and the work was completed as scheduled. He left the job site clean and organized each day, and the quality of his work exceeded my expectations. The price for the job was fair, and he used high quality materials. I am delighted that we have such a capable, reliable, and professional contractor here in the East Mountains. I only hope that he doesn't get too busy to take on my next remodeling job! I also note that he has good taste in dogs, music, and food!

Probably the best contracting experience we've had. Hassle free and a fair price along with a quick turn-around. Renee and Josh came in and turned a decrepit bathroom into a work of art. Will definitely hire these guys again before they become too popular,

The work was done a couple of years ago, and the tile still looks great. The walls where he fixed it next to the tile looks great.

Rene is a complete professional. He arrived on time for all appointments and work days and stayed as late as necessary to complete the task. He took pains to make sure each section of the work was done right. He is very easy to talk to and he is helpful with details and decisions. We were so impressed that we also hired him to re-roof our old breezeway and he did an excellent job there as well. We plan to use him as our contractor when we build our new house later this spring.

We did a Google search, called him, he came out and spoke to us in an honest manner gave us a written estimate and we booked him! He was very informative and stayed in constant communication to ensure everything was completed to our satisfaction.

Hanks worked well and was always willing to make sure we were satisfied. He was punctual and professional. The price reasonable. Hanks worked everyday although we did not always think his helpers were competent enough. There was a couple of times that he missed something. All in all we would call him again.

Rene is a very nice man. He is very trustworthy and considerate. He also does very high quality work. He is just a very pleasant man to be around. He went above and beyond, and even took my dog for a walk! I trusted him so much, that I gave him a key to my house so that he could come and go as he needed. My bathroom now looks beautiful, and everyone who comes to see it is very impressed! I would highly recommend Hanks Custom Builders to anyone looking for any type of remodeling.

He was trustworthy, I really felt secure around him. I could leave the house and not worry. I had complete confidence in him. He was a true gentlemen and cleaned up after himself. He worked hard 8-5 each day for the better part of a month. He was dependable and always there when he said he would be. I haven't ever had that kind of experience with anyone. He was a general contractor, but also an artist so he would give you good advice as well, and if the colors were off or clashing he would help you with that. A lot of times with other contractors you feel vulnerable, or scared, but with him it was the complete opposite. I have recommended him to many of my neighbors, and several of them have hired him for projects as well. It was a real pleasure having him around, and I would look forward to him coming, and even would make him coffee. I would say his price was a B plus, but better quality of work, and the fact that he was completely licensed and insured is completely worth it. I was more than willing to pay the smallest bit more for the incredible experience. He stayed true to his quote, and I had complete confidence in him throughout the entire project.

They did excellent work. I had my bathroom completely gutted. They removed the plumbing, the electrical, installed new tub, new tiles everything. They were very polite and timely. They were fair in their price.

Rene' Hanks and his assistant worked in my house for a little over two weeks. They were always on time, very courteous, and left the work area cleaned up at the end of each work day. No complaints. I was comfortable letting my two elementary school children be around them. I was also comfortable enough to leave them in my home while I was out running around. Rene' Hanks is license, bonded, and insured - which also brought me peace of mind. Rene' Hanks is very artistic and provided great design advice. He was very easy to work with and seemed very knowledgeable on all areas of construction. I would recommend him to anyone who needs work done.
