Mr.Tom Armijo discussed the job with me and told me that all of his painters were very trustworthy. The conditions of the coupon were that we purchased the paint, so he recommended 2 different types of paint for the job. He also recommended where we could cut corners to save money. The job was done completely to our satisfaction and the paint job was very professional. I would highly recommend Brush Up.
Description of Work: I recently bought a "Big Deal" coupon using Brush Up Interior Paining for 8 hours of work. I also had Brush Up paint some additional rooms and ceilings, so that the amount of work exceeded the value of the coupon. In the bedroom, I asked them to paint stripes on one wall, so the paint job was more involved than most.

Tom and his guys are amazing. I spoke to Tom a few days prior to the start of the project. Due to my limited availability and tight schedule, Tom worked with me to get some of the work done on the weekend. I explained my "cash poor" status to Tom and he worked with me to help cut my costs, such as removing cover plates & doorknobs, making sure there was nothing in the way, furniture, etc. The whole project took about 3 days. The repair work was great, I can't even tell where most of the repairs have been made. This project was for a home that had been recently remodeled, but when the prior owner did some of the repairs, the drywall repairs did not match and then they went through the whole house and touched up with the wrong paint, i.e., using semi gloss to touchup flat, wrong colors, etc. Then when I got it, they had not left any of the correct paint. I chose a color very similar to the old color we could save money by only needing one coat of paint as opposed to two. Tom and I had a small communication issue on what my priorities were and when I spoke to him about it he went above and beyond to work it out. I would definetly use Tom again. at some point I will be painting the exterior of the house and Tom willm be the guy I call.
Description of Work: Painted the interior of an 1100 sq ft home to include ceilings, walls, doors and trim. Also multiple drywall repairs. I provided all of the paint.

Back in August 2011 Tom Armijo and his crew had done a superb job of painting the entire interior, new baseboard molding and garage of the 1500 sqft house we recently purchased. We recently had three large floor-to-ceiling bookcase units constructed and installed and called Tom to come paint them for us. He was able to start in just a few days, and completed the job of putting on a coat of primer and two finish coats of paint in just two days. The result once again was superb, and he and Brian were a pleasure to work with. The final price was exactly what he bid, and he even touched up several patched areas on our ceilings and walls where Eisenberg Electric had put in some can lights and wiring for us. Call Tom for your next interior painting job. You will really be pleased !

Without a doubt, I have found a local paint crew that will get all my future painting business, along with any referrals that might arise. Brush Up Painting has simply earned this with us. I initially called the owner, Tom, of Brush Up Painting, and requested an estimate for the areas I needed painting. Tom advised he could give us an estimate the same day and would show up at 3 pm. Tom wasn't a minute late for the appointment- a nice touch when others either show up late, or never show up. I discussed what areas of the home needed paint, explained my eagerness to get the project completed as soon as possible. He went over some important options such as paint quality, number of coats and timing. Later that evening, we already had our requested quote via email. The quote was accurate, and more importantly, exactly what I had asked for...nothing extra, no hidden junk fees, no color matching fees. The quote was clean and precise. Tom knew I was on a strict budget and he fell within that range. After agreeing to the quote, Tom advised us of some great news that they would be able to start earlier than expected. This was a great surprise as he knew we were in somewhat of a rush to get things completed. Tom and his crew arrived at the house promptly at the time we arranged. They quickly put out drop cloths, reconfirmed which paint goes where, and started painting. Within the first day, both Tom and a crewman had finished half of the project. The second day a larger crew came out to finish the great room and the closet. When they finished the project, they left the home in better condition than when they arrived. They doubled checked everything they did, found very few areas that needed a quick touch up, and more importantly, made these areas of the home look new again. It's also worth mentioning the outstanding job his crew did at "cutting" the line between the wall and the ceiling. Being that I left my ceiling color alone, I was questioning how well it might turn out, however, amazingly, even at 20 feet high walls; his crew did an incredible job at making the transition flawless. Tom prides himself on the quality and honesty of his crew; I couldn't agree more. Let's face it; good hired help is hard to come by. Multiple times during the project, I left the house with just them in it, and as expected, I came back to painters, well, painting. His crew dresses accordingly, they don't have their shorts sagging below their waist or wear their ball caps backwards among other things. I think there is little doubt, Tom probably runs a tight ship, but it reflects very well when his help arrives at your door. Frankly, it refreshing to see professional looking painters painting in your house. As stated prior, Brush Up is the only paint company I will use in the future. Their pricing is well within range for an upscale job, he and his crew are perfectionists, and the job turned out better than I could have ever expected. They did an outstanding job.

I found Brush Up on this list and decided to contact them due to the favorable and recent reviews. I contacted the owner, Tom, for an estimate for painting 4 bedrooms in my house. He answered his phone right away and came over that same day a couple of hours after I contacted him. He looked at the rooms, advised me on types of paint finish and went over the colors with me. I received his estimate later that evening. He was pretty booked, but was able to come that weekend and do the job. Tom came 8 o'clock Saturday morning to get paint colors so he could get the paint mixed. He uses Sherwin Williams paint, unless the home owner wants another brand. I was having doubts about how dark the one shade I had picked would come out. Tom said he'd have them mix in half strength so it would come out the shade I wanted. It turned out great! After he came back with the paint, his crew of two other guys came in and set to work. They were very professional and pleasant to have in our home. They didn't seem to mind when my two little girls would sneak down to watch what they were doing. We were in and out of the house while they were working. I felt I could trust them. I had forgotten to tell them not to paint a closet in one of the rooms because it was actually okay. When I came back in, Tom said he held off on that closet, because it looked fine, until he checked with me. I really appreciated that, and it saved me some money. When they finished the second day, Tom labeled all the left over paint for touch ups for us. He said he'd email the final invoice and come get payment the next day. They came in under budget! It was a pleasant experience working with Tom and his crew, and we highly recommend them and would use them again.

Tom was truly terrific! Not only did he do a superior job of painting, but he was able to perform this feat at the drop of a hat. My parents had been scheduled to have the wall painted by someone else who became very ill the day he was to paint. As they had been waiting some weeks for the service and since they were due to also get in a new mattress within a day, it was really important to get the work done. I called Tom based on his reviews on Angie's List , explained the situation and he immediately agreed to work them in. He came 3 hours later, thoroughly charmed my elderly parents and did a great job to boot! We all thought the price was excellent. He was polite, respectful and a pleasure to have in the house. I told him he was an angel and he absolutely is. I would recommend him to anyone and expect to be utilizing his services myself in the near future.

I set up an appt with Tom and he was at the house right on time. He emailed me the estimate that same night. I called the next day to check on availability--we set a date to start hte job. And, they did a superior job! Couldn't have asked for a more professional crew. They were in and out of the house in one day. Very neat and clean--couldn't even tell anyone had been inthe house. Came back for just a few hours a few days later to ensure they hadn't missed anything and correct any problems I had found. There were no problems but they gave me their word they would do a double check and they did. Excellent service! Would highly recommend Tom and his team! I'm picky and they met all my expectations. Thanks Tom!

We thought that they were great. They were on time and very professional. We would definitely do business with them in the future. The price they quoted was about $1500 and it was lower than all the estimates that we got. The person that came out was not pushy and explained things to us.

My experience with Brush Up was outstanding. Tom Armijo responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and provided an estimate quickly. When I had a question about the estimate, he clarified that, as well, and in a timely manner. On the day of the paint job, he and his crew member arrived precisely on time. They worked quickly and efficiently, and carried out the job according to the estimate. The ceiling paint job is flawless. Tom carefully return everything in my home to its original place, and swept the entire downstairs, as well. I felt confident in the trustworthiness of Tom and his worker. His was not the lowest estimate that I received. However, I chose Brush Up based on past experiences researched on Angie's list. I was not disappointed. I definitely recommend Brush Up, and will contact them again when I need painting service.

Tom Armijo was professional, amiable, and straightforward during our initial meeting and at all times thereafter. He listened carefully and offered intelligent and thoughtful advice. He was sensitive to our needs regarding chemical sensitivity and experienced with accommodating it. His suggestions for drywall repair (Paul Anthony of "Drywall Repair Done Right!" and tile (Mike Garcia of "Unique Tile and Stone") were outstanding referrals. His painters are all clean-cut and hard-working gentlemen, who we trusted completely to be alone in our home. They were always punctual, focused, and there was no use of profanity or off-color joking. They were friendly, considerate, and neat, and always cleaned the workspace at the end of the day. The painting was done carefully and skillfully. Tom Armijo and his employees are trustworthy and dependable, and the quality of the work is very good. We recommend them highly.
Description of Work: My husband and I originally came across Brush Up Interior Painting in Angie's List, and decided to try it, based on its many excellent reviews. The proprietor, Tom Armijo, met with us at our home for an evaluation. He spoke with us in length and, a few days later, sent us a detailed bid, which we accepted. We first had some drywall repair done by an independent professional who Tom recommended. Then, under Tom's supervision, the Brush Up team painted our kitchen, laundry room, two hallways, one bedroom, a small cove, some trim, and a living room with a two-story ceiling. They also performed some minor repairs.

Called Tom and he was available for a same-day estimate. His price was fair (not the lowest, but reasonable) and he was able to begin the next week. His crew of 6 guys tackled the house early the next Monday. They did a fantastic, very detailed job. They were willing to help with small "extra" tasks without complaint. They also painted a bookshelf cabinet beautifully. These guys are true professionals, and obviously like working together as a team. I would hire them anytime. Highly recommended! I was extremely happy with the work and felt that I got more than I paid for.

We bought a new home in the East Mountains and loved everything but the colors of the two guest bedrooms - hot pink and baby blue with a full wall mural! We called Tom to see if he could repaint the rooms in a more neutral tone, without breaking the bank. Tom was prompt in returning my calls and even though he was booked solid for the next month or so, he managed to work our project into his schedule without a hassle. Tom and his team did a great job - they sanded the mural and primed the area and then gave both rooms two coats of paint. He even removed the glow-in-the-dark star stickers from the ceiling and patched several holes left by s-hooks, then gave the ceiling a nice fresh coat as well...no extra charge! They did a superb job and left no mess whatsoever. The only way I could tell they had been there was our beautiful new walls!

As the other reviews state, Tom is extremely professional and honest, and does a quality job. He had a crew to help paint our former residence, and there were a few drips and minor issues that Tom came back and repaired carefully himself. We did not contract to have the bookshelves painted, but when he saw the shelves after we had removed the books and moved, he painted them for no extra charge. In the new residence, Tom contracted a dry wall man (Pat's Drywall--I would also recommend Pat) to do the "floating" and texturing, and Tom himself completed the painting. He did a very nice, clean job. I would absolutely use Tom again.
Description of Work: Former residence: filled cracks and took care of "popped" nails, painted most all the walls in a 2200 sq. ft. house. Painted the shelves in fives sets of built-in bookshelves. New residence: textured walls of a bedroom; primed and painted that bedroom with two coats of paint.

Tom Armijo and his crew were pleasant, accommodating and professional from start to finish. They were flexible & worked around our schedule so we could coordinate with floor refinishers. Excellent. Timely estimate and no surprises with the work. Timely. Tom is retired policeman and is his right hand man. Reliable. Patched a few cracks and caulked windows if needed. Moved heavy furniture that we could not, like entertainment unit. Very professional and hard working. No flaws with the work. Completed in one day with 3 persons. Neat prep and clean-up. Received 3 estimates and theirs was most reasonable. Given the job they did, no better value for the price. Hire these guys!!!
