We chose Leroy, and gave him and crew quite a bit of work to do. Responsiveness, punctuality and efficiency is essential for any professional; so is a good and fair estimate! I chose Montoya because of all these positive things. Leroy has the ability to spot needed repairs, has innovative fixes and good clean up. His hard and careful work and experience makes him my go-to-guy for anything that needs to be done inside and outside. When Montoya Landscaping and Maintenance say they are dependable, reliable, honest - with satisfaction guaranteed, I would also add the word "integrity" - a rare and valued trait these days. Leroy takes pride in his good work, and so do we.

+ -1 moreLeroy Montoya and two team members worked for five full days to complete the work as planned. Arrived as scheduled each day and discussed what was accomplished each day. Also discussed potential problems as work progressed. Considered their work as in the mid-range for roof repair complexity/difficulty. The team can do more than basic handyman painting or repair. They replaced the water damaged wood dividers between the eves extending from the house and painted them. We discussed the possibility of completely sealing the flat roof in addition to the patching but did not do this. The labor was approximately $8,000 and the supplies $750. Cannot say if they have experience in completely replacing or /rebuilding a roof that has major damage.
Description of Work: (1) Patch holes and cracks in asphalt flat roof and (2) rebuild/paint eves/trim around house perimeter. Roofing had been replaced about 8 years ago but had not had annual inspections. Leaks around the roof perimeter were clearly appearing after winter snows.

We even depended on them to do work when we were in Arizona. We would highly recommend them. A little pricey but would highly recommend them. They took care of our landscaping over time. + 3 moreThe work was executed promptly and competently. Leroy asked for our approval of the work, and willingly made the changes that we suggested. It's hard to compare Leroy's charges with other contractors that we've hired, I'd guess that he was a little more expensive than some others. But Leroy was promptly responsive to our needs and the work was well done.
Description of Work: Leroy came on the day that I called to give me an estimate for pruning. He suggested other work to which I agreed. The next day he and his brother executed the agreed upon work, and later, more work was suggested that seemed to be reasonable to me, I am not a gardener, and his advice had value for me.

+ 3 moreWe moved into our two acre Pojoaque home almost two months ago. Unfortunately the seller must have forgotten about keeping up with the maintenance for the grounds. It had gotten completely out of control. Leroy Montoya and his brother Matthew, (plus one other crew member who was their for the first day) worked feverishly for two and a half days just getting the property back under control. After they completed their work, which included, cutting down five or six dead or otherwise unwanted trees, cutting and removing many horrible shrubs, cutting down and removing the weeds which had grown out of control and had spread to much of the property, they cleaned everything up by making 4 or 5 trips to the dump. When they finished their work, I could not believe it was the same property. We actually had a view of the Jemez Mountains. I elected not to reveal the overall cost for the work they did for me due to the fact that each job is different and could be subject to specific charges. PS: I just want to explain my reasoning for the "C" rating I gave Leroy and Matthew below. It was strictly for the price we had agreed upon prior to any work being started. It was in no way a reflection on the quality of their work. I received 3 other estimates for this job and two of the estimates were well below the price Mr. Montoya had quoted. Nevertheless, I chose the Montoya brothers based on my feelings I got after our conversations. I do believe my feelings and judgment was correct. I was happy to pay them the fee we had agreed upon.

+ 0 moreI was collecting estimates for a job I wanted the project completed before the following spring. Leroy Montoya said his crew could be on the job on the next day (August 30th). They showed up on the next day and were finished in a week. The back yard turned out beautifully. I never used to even go in my back yard because it was so neglected and unpleasant. Now the back patio is my favorite place on the property. Top quality materials installed by an experienced landscaper. I highly recommend Montoya landscaping.
Description of Work: Totally re-landscaped back yard. Removal of the existing structures and landscaping. New xeriscaping with gravel, berms, flagstone path and coyote fences.
