After inspecting the roof, he pointed out that both it and the swamp cooler had been installed incorrectly, in such a way as to facilitating the leaks we had been getting. He suggested having a plumber or handyman make an adjustment in the way the cooler was positioned on the roof. The suggestion made sense and we followed through on it. We have not had further roof leaks. We appreciated that Mark came to give us his professional opinion, even though he did not stand to benefit from the trip; and we appreciated his sensible suggestion for a fix. We would certainly call on him again, and would recommend his company without qualification to others.
Description of Work: We have had problems for years with our metal roof leaking around the evaporative cooler, though it has been caulked multiple times. It is an older roof, installed in 1994, a type of metal roof with exposed fasteners. Mark explained that he does not sell or repair these older roofs anymore, because the fasteners themselves are the problem and tend to continue leaking even after they are caulked. We explained that we were not looking to replace the roof, but only a possible, less expensive, fix. Even though he was working on another job, Mark was willing to take a break and come to inspect the roof and give us his evaluation.
