I wasn't there, my husband said everything went great.

I apologize for the first inaccurate review. Shawn cleaned the fireplaces just fine and he said the gas fireplace is good. But after inspecting the wood burning fireplace that was used all last winter he told me that it had no flu lining and was a safety hazard and that the vigas could catch fire - and that the other damaged one that he looked at was the same way. After getting a second opinion we found there are linings but they only cover the top and bottom of the flu and are not in compliance with modern code. The fireplace has been used for many years like this but should be repaired.

What I didn't like was that we had set up a date for a Tuesday or Wednesday in September. My husband stayed home purposely for that and he never came or called. Then when I got home around 4:30pm I called him and he said that he had our appointment on his schedule for the following day on Thursday. I know that I would never schedule such a an appointment on a Thursday because I always have a charitable commitment on Thursdays. It was several weeks later until we could reschedule it. I did say to him that it would be nice if he could confirm it. He didn't call to confirm in but I called late in the afternoon the day before to make sure he was coming still.

They arrived on time and did a good job.

I waited the 2 days and was not contacted by the company.

First of all, this guy is great. He didn't come in trying to sell me a bunch of new parts, he made what I had work. That means he is honest. That is a sometimes hard quality to find these days. Good guy and worth the wait, he is busy because he is good.

Wanted fireplace chimneys cleaned and inspected because I could hear bird sounds coming from the chimney. Shawn was prompt and professional. He cleaned and inspected the chimneys; explained that there was no sign of birds but that they often sit on top and that was what I probably heard. He suggested chimney caps to prevent birds from falling into the chimney in the future and to keep rain and snow out of the chimney. In our previous houses, we had them installed for those reasons. The price was very reasonable and I asked him to install the caps. I will certainly use him again to have our chimneys cleaned in the future.

Three strikes and you are out!! Made initial appointment - Shawn called and changed date (no problem). Day of new appointment he called at the time he was to arrive and said his vehicle broke down, he had to reschedule, he would call that evening (9/18) or tomorrow (9/19). Did not call. He called Sunday, 9/21 to try to schedule. No apologies, excuses or reasons given as to why he did not call. Just - "Have a nice day" when I told him I would not do business with him because he was not reliable.

The fellow arrived on time, had his tools, and performed well. He was efficient, and answered all my questions about the chimney. I hope to use him again.

There were no troubles with scheduling and no additional costs beyond the price of the deal. This was the first time I have had this work completed. The job was basic and I thought that the service was good. Everything was fine.

That did not turn out very well. He didn’t come in from the top of the chimney, so there was a lot of stuff that was left up there. I could tell he was in a hurry and the way he vacuumed the vacuum didn’t go all the way up. He was running back and forth and did not have any conversation with me. I know he tried, but I was not satisfied and I have not been able to use my fireplace since. I am afraid to burn anything. I have tried a couple of times, but nothing would burn and the smoke would keep coming back.

The son of the owner of the business called me and showed up on time. The inspection/cleaning was done within 30 minutes. He did point our that part of the brick in the back had degraded and was a safety issue that should be addressed by replacing that small patch of brick. I could see exactly what he meant when I inspected it, the bricks are broken and caved in. He quoted a price to repair and said to call if I wanted to proceed. No pressure or dire predictions......Very professional.

The service went well. They actually came out twice because he was not able to do the work the first time he came out. He just did an assessment the first visit. I had the technician repair a cinder block wall. He was on time and neat in his workmanship. I had no issues with scheduling.

Had to reschedule but then did show up on new date. Did a good job and seemed to be knowledgeable about fireplaces etc. Cleaned up after the job was complete. I will use them again.

It was fine. They were efficient. They did the job right. They were on time and cleaned up when they were finished.

Professional team. They covered the living room area, so there was no dirt to clean up after. Cleaned chimey and added a cap to keep the birds out! Did a great job, quick, professional and at a very reasonable price.

They did a decent job. They didn't do anything on top of the roof. They put down tarps and cleaned up. They didn't leave any ashes.

It was fine. He did a good job. He came when he said he would. He was efficient.

They did a great job. The only problem was that they were 30 minutes late and my wife had to call them to find out where they were. They were thorough. They cleaned up and left no mess. The inspection was good.

He worked out very well. He left a little bit of dirt on the front fireplace wall but I cleaned up easily. My husband said he was pleasant and nice. He was on time. We will call them again at the end of the year.

Their inspection disclosed that the mesh cover on the rood was missing, so I gladly payed extra to have one installed. They managed to do it all in one day. I was given an inspection report and they left. The workers were both courteous and accommodating. I would have gladly kept them on my books for the next cleaning...BUT... ... after discussing it in passing with my contractor, he (my contractor) went inside the fireplace, pulled out newspaper from 1963- a wad of it, chunks of creosote, a rubber ball (?) and opened the ash trap for me to see. Directly beneath the trap was a wad of cables, electric, PVC pipe and others. I was appalled. My contractor also mentioned that my fireplace was not up to code and proceeded to explain why. Granted, my house is old- but these are all things I would have expected Shawn's Chimney Sweeps to find during their inspection, disclose in their report and estimate the cost of fixing. I have made no attempt to call them and ask for an explanation, nor do I want one. If the vendor reads this, I sincerely hope he looks over his records for the team he sent out, have a team building conversation and intensive training session. Quite simply "money spent, homeowner burned, lesson learned".

He was very good. He was reliable and worked quickly to get the job done.

Young men were thorough and personable, and accurately estimated how much each chimney was used. They spread tarps before they started, but we still had some minor vacuuming to do afterward. We were surprised to discover when we started using one fireplace that the screen had been torn from the frame in several spots. This must have happened during the cleaning, but they did not mention it (or, of course, offer to repair it). If they had done so, I would call them again. As they didn't, I won't call them again.
