Examined fireplace for cleanliness and why it wasn't turning on. He did get it working (I think I remember he changed a battery);, but said it was a brand he wasn't familiar with and didn't really know how it worked and why it stopped working.

They did a good job. They were polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. We'd use their service again.

They were 3 hours late and never called to let me know. They spread tarps and climbed up on the roof and cleaned it from above then came in and removed debris and vacuumed up left overs. Did a check on the stove and pipe and told us we really got a deal since they would normally charge over $200.00 to do our kind of stove pipe.

All went well. He was on time and put tarps down as to not make a mess.

He did a thourough and professional job.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. He was really good. He did a good job, he was excellent, helpful, and reasonably priced. There was no additional cost.

The worst money I have ever spent. They said they were going to refurbish the glass and they never did. They could not get the fireplace to get it to work right. They were not here more than 15 minutes. They should be out of business and they are a rip off.

He came from Santa Fe to Albuquerque and did an excellent job cleaning out our chimney and explaining what he did and the general rules of maintenance. Angie's list was paid and you have the records of date, cost, etc.

This company was very professional and quite thorough. I have a gas fireplace but the previous homeowner used wood logs. When they moved out, they did not clean the fireplace nor restore it back to a gas fireplace. Shawn's Chimney Sweeps cleaned my fireplace and flue and checked all the gas lines and made sure it worked before they left. They took extra care to not get any furniture or the floors dirty while they cleaned. I would not hesitate to use these guys again.

I thought he did a good job of cleaning everything up. He laid carpet down and did a good job of making sure there was no debris left. It was scheduled quickly, he came out quickly, and he was very friendly.

I think the work was fine. I'm not an expert, but I've had no trouble with the fireplace since it was cleaned and checked. It draws fine, and I have used it a lot. The workers spread tarps to catch any mess, and while there was a little dust/soot which escaped, what can you expect with a fireplace? The work was scheduled as I requested, and the two workers arrived on time. One of them said he was the son of the owner of the company. He seemed grumpy when he arrived. He roughly pushed aside two rug mats I had been working with. (They were not in his way.) Later he calmed down and was pleasant enough. The initial impression he created accounts for the "C" I gave on "professionalism."

Punctual, efficient. Did not follow up on request for an estimate on a new pellet stove.

The installation of the skylights went very smoothly. They were punctual, polite, cleaned up after the installation, and hauled away the old skylights. I am glad I read the back of the business cards. He performs a variety of work. I am going to use them to design a new backyard for me. They are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It worked out great. They put a drop cloth down. There were no additional costs. I didn't compare the price.

Shawn did an excellent job cleaning, was quick, thorough and showed me some things that needed attention. I have no problem with the work. His personality left a lot to be desired. He was rude, condescending and arrogant. When explaining about the procedure or what needed to be fixed, if I had a question he wasn't patient enough to listen to what I had to ask. When I asked questions about a chimney fire and how can they burn down a house (if the chimney is built as a single unit and only next to the house, not completely built into the framework) he kept insisting there is a space in the chimney filled with junk and that's what catches on fire. When I asked what kind of junk would be in the space that was burnable he got down right nasty, even when I patiently tried to re-word my questions. The chimney fires I researched on Google were coming directly out of the chimney flue, so I was trying to clarify the difference between that and what else might be a fire hazard. If the back wall bricks are loose what is back there that can burn? Never did find out. The helper was pleasant and did his job well. If all you're looking for is to have your chimney cleaned and inspected use him. However, if you're also looking for a nice personalty and the ability to ask questions without being insulted, I would recommend finding someone else.

The gas log kiva doesn't light properly but it may need replacing.

Aaron was very nice and professional. He called before coming to confirm, check on directions, and let us know he was on his way. He was very careful with rugs and furniture around the fireplace; jumped up on the roof and did a thorough inspection. He was very efficient, explained what he was doing, and made suggestions for future maintenance.

I did not feel comfortable having him in my home. I debated whether or not to report this, but I couldn't in good conscience give a positive review. On his behalf, it was the end of the day, he was tired, and he is young and obviously not well-trained in customer service. For this reason alone, I would not hire them again. Aside from that, the work was well-done.

After arriving, the technician performed a visual inspection then cleaned the firebox area and chimney. He thoroughly explained all features of the fireplace and ensured that I understood the correct operation procedures. After cleanup, they left the area around the fireplace spotless; you'd never know that they were there. As this was my first chimney cleaning, I was a little skeptical about having the service performed. The technician's explanations and instructions alleviated all of my apprehension on safely operating my first WB fireplace. Shawn was very versatile in scheduling the service and the technicians were very polite and professional. Shawn was great. He was on time, very polite and neat, and called ahead to give me a heads up that he was on his way, as I had requested. He pointed out some issues that were developing in the fireplace that may need attention in the coming year. I would hire him again.

Our tenants asked us to have someone look at the bedroom fireplace and so we took Shawn's Chimney Sweep special for a cleaning and inspection. They got right back to us and contacted the tenants. The tenants were very happy with the service and the communication. We will use Shawn's again in the future.

It was a very professional exchange. We needed a service on a gas fireplace that they do not provide. We did not at this time require the services that they do provide.
