Do not trust this agency with management of your property. She replaced my apartment sized washer/dryer which fit into a purpose built cupboard with an over sized machine that necessitated removal of the cupboard door. The arrangement was a defacement of my property and inexcusable. Laziness, inattention or incompetence. When I objected, her response was: "The tenant didn't mind." I a the property and I mind plenty.

It was absolutely the worst experience of my life. The realtors that I consulted to sell my house told me I needed to file complaint with the State Board. I'm getting my documentation ready to be able to file my complaint. I asked Ms. Ostrowski 2 conditions I had, and I had never rented property ever in any state. So I relied on her to know what she was doing. My first condition was no smoking. I did agree to consider small pets. She explained that dog care was a standard part of the rent. I explained to her that I was leaving town right away. I really hoped that a little family would get in there but it didn't happen. She signed the lease on my behalf, while I was not in town. I had explained to her that this is the type of business that I was in and that I wanted a credit check and a criminal background check. You can do those off on the internet. She agreed to do that. 18 months later, when I am having to move back into the house and get the tenants out, the lease expired January 31st 2013. I had hoped to get an extension of my job out of state. Unfortunately, I did not get that extension until January. So I had to give the tenant notice in December. I was anticipating orders to move in December. In November, I began the process of pre-assessment of the real estate and at that time, I had discovered through the assessment of my home that they had been smoking in my home and they had 4 dogs. She told me that she had not been over there since May. Unfortunately, my roof started leaking and I had to replace the roof. She recommended that I give a discount on the lease each time the tenants were inconvenienced. So on that recommendation, I gave them a break in the rent. I then discussed with her the possibility of letting the tenants continue to lease the property while I was on extension but of course that completely went out the window when I discovered that they've been smoking and they had 4 dogs. Apparently, she had become very friendly with the tenants and liked them more than she liked me. She was either friends with them from the get go or she was friends with them afterwards to my detriment. I think that she miscommunicated to the tenants my situation. I could not offer the tenants an extension of any kind until I had a clear understanding from my business that I was even going to be remaining out of state after January 31st. So one of the tenants had cancer in August but that illness was used to make me feel guilty, there was a guilt trip thing going on trying to get me to let the tenants stay until at least April. I was writing e-mails begging her basically to work with me and explain to the tenants I'm very sorry but I have these 2 little children and I could not stay in a hotel, I could not afford to do that; what are their intentions, if they are going to hold over and I cannot do anything about it. On Christmas eve, she sent me an e-mail telling me that one of the tenants was in a coma. I wrote back that we'll met and what have you. She replied back with one line: "If you want to see your property, you have to give 24-hour notice." I haven't even mentioned seeing my property. When she shot that back, I thought that was odd. No one has bothered to tell me what was going on at my house. I was angry and shaking and couldn't say anything. I hired her based on a recommendation of a realtor who I am sure did not know what was gonna happen. But what this woman did was just run a check on these people. There was no credit or criminal background check, which were 2 critical things that I needed to have. The other things that I confronted to her about was only one person was on the lease. The 3 others were not in there. I talked to her about it and I told her that this is not in my best interest and she told me that they were gonna be moving out, they weren't gonna be there for long. It's still a lease. So Pam Ostrowski was not looking after me at all. As far as the dogs were concerned, there was a follow up letter that I received because I was claiming the security deposit. Pam said she didn't know they smoked in the house and that I would have to prove. So I hired some professionals to prove that. I had the ducts cleaned and the cleaners clarified in the bill that they cleaned the ducts and they found a cigarette butt in the vent. So I bagged and tagged it. The butt is the same brand of cigarette that you see out in the backyard. The backyard is filled with dog feces. I took a photograph of it as best I could. There was some damage done. I did the duct cleaning. I repainted and it smelled terrible. I did have some smoke remediation company come up and they did some work on it which substantially assisted. When I came back in April, I felt that this really isn't that great. I found out that to appropriately protect me from smokers, she needed to have an affirmative clause added to the lease that talks specifically about smoking. I got an e-mail from her basically saying that the smoking is covered under the clause that says you got to return this property in the same condition that you receiveds it in. That's not true. As far as the dogs are concerned, she told me she never saw 4 dogs there despite the fact that 2 witnesses say the contrary. This was one of the worst experiences of my life and to think that you are being represented by someone, who you come to find out that you had been paying for 18 months, not representing you or the other party. Her goal was that I did not get the security deposit for the least amount possible and succeeded, she did a very good job of representing the tenant.
Description of Work: I needed someone to completely handle this property for me while I was away for over an 18-month period. Pamela Ostrowski from Professional Asset Management of NM agreed to do it, she did all the paperwork, we talked and went over a few things. She sent over the paperwork for me and I signed it. There was an agreement as to the deposit and there was about looking for tenants. I depended upon her to know her business.
