Jake Wright was incapable of completing the arena. Two months into a two month contract, Mr Wright was not half way completed with the work. Becoming concerned, I called the county to inquire whether he had complied with contractual terms to obtain a permit for the work. He had not. The county "red tagged" him, and prohibited work until the permit was obtained. Long story short, Mr Wright sued me for his incompetence, stating under oath that he had never read the contract.
Description of Work: Hired to make a level pad for a horse arena.

Jake Wright Excavating contracted to construct a horse arena on my property. Mr Wrights contract expired before he completed even half the work, and so he sued me for his incompetence.
Description of Work: Jake Wright Excavating failed to perform as agreed, failed to get a construction permit and I received a citation from the county telling me that I would be hauled before magistrate court if the mess Mr Wright made wasn't cleaned up. Mr Wright failed half of his soil compaction tests and then refused to pay his soils testing contractor. When Mr Wrights contract expired and he was less than half complete, he sued me. Another contractor was needed to complete the work. Upon litigation, Wright stated that he never read the contract, and didn't know what was in the contract.

Response from Jake Wright Excavation
Owner turned himself into the County code enforcement then refused to cooperate on building permit and blocked its issue. Cut contract time short 21 days. Paid 0 for work completed and special ordered materials left on site. All areas requiring compaction had passing tests when I was forced off of project.
