On Friday, May 26th arrangements were made with Franco’s Tree Service to come to our home for an estimate of lawn work we wanted done. The agreed time and date was Tuesday, May 30th at between 5:00pm and 5:30pm. Although I felt that was a little late, I nevertheless decided to go along with that time frame because of their schedule. At around 6:00pm on that day I received a phone call from Franco’s. It was Julio Franco. He said he was in Santa Fe and just getting ready to leave for our house. I live in El Rancho and it’s about a 40 to 45 minute drive from where this company is located in Santa Fe to my house. I told Julio that it was already way past our agreed upon time and would be too late for him to come out now. Besides that it was just starting to rain. We then agreed that he would come out to the house the next day (May 31st) at 8:00am. At around 8:00am the next morning, I noticed a phone call had been placed to my home at 7:24am (more than a half an hour before our agreed upon time). I returned the call and it was Julio Franco. He stated he was lost. Because I don’t speak Spanish that well I could not understand where he was. I ask him if he had a map or GPS. He said he did not, which I thought was strange. I told him I had no idea of where he was and I couldn’t help him. He then said he would look for Road 101D again. After we hung up, I called the main office and spoke with Juan Franco. Juan is the owner of Franco’s Trees and Landscaping. I explained the situation to him and he said he would get in touch with Julio and then call me back. A short time later Julio called me again and said he was still lost. I asked him if Juan had gotten a hold of him. He said no (I could at least understand that). By this time I felt this whole situation was ridiculous and it was also getting too late. I had other appointments to go to that morning. I then said to Julio, wherever he was now, to just forget about coming by. I’m not sure if he understood what I said, but I think he did because I never did receive a call back from Julio or Juan. I did try calling the office back but no one answered my calls. They may do good work, but it is my opinion, based on what I observed on May 30th and May 31st, this company really doesn’t have it all together. I lost all confidence with them and because of that could never trust or rely on them, and that’s sad, because they do have, while not many, good reviews in Angies List.
Description of Work: Give an estimate of the cost and the time involved for removal of 12 tree stumps, cutting down weeds and one dead Italian Cypress tree, plus removing other dean trees on the property. My wife and I also wanted to discuss the options they offered for a by-weekly maintenance lawn care play with them.

Very professional job! We are fortunate to have them as our landscapers through our HOA.
Description of Work: We needed our large tree and bushes trimmed to accommodate space for our stucco work to be done and they did the work in a methodical and meticulous manner. They did a superb job of cleaning up all the debris from the project.

I called Franco's and left a message, that I wanted some tree work done. They returned my call promptly, and the next day a person came out to give me a quote. A week or so later, a crew of about 5 showed up and did the work. Everything was finished by the afternoon. I would suggest drawing a picture of the larger tree branches you want cut. If a crew-member rings on your doorbell with a question for clarification, make sure and bring the drawing. A picture of tree branches is worth 1000 words, much better than pointing to "that one" or "this one". The cutter used various ropes to secure himself and stay safe. He climbed down the "ladder" of branches, cutting the highest first, then climb down one to cut the next highest. This took care of my tree that is leaning to one side. I was happy with the results. The trees looked good, and so did the firewood. They also left a pile of chipped wood, which we use in our yard.
Description of Work: Prune one Eucalyptus with branches that tend to break. Prune 3-4 branches off a leaning pine tree (the hardest job, since have to climb the tree). Clean dead branches off a second pine tree (a smaller job). Remove a small Eucalyptus tree that didn't look so good, leaving the stump. Cut large branches into firewood.
