Cedar Southwest Construction

My experience with Cedar Southwest Construction was okay. Their responsiveness was an A to begin with and then it wasn't. He didn't want to keep working with me on a consultation basis. I will probably not use them again, because they didn't call me back and I won't call them.

They did a pretty good job. I would use them in the future for remodeling services.

Didn[t get call back for several days. once I spoke to someone I was told a plumber would be out within a specific time frame on a specific day. The plumber did not show up. Once the (two) men arrived on another day they were very professional and did a good job. I think the problem was that someone was out of town at the time of my initial call and there was just generally a problem of missed calls and too many demands on the time of the plumber. They were very apologetic.

I appreciate their recommendation, but I have not yet tried the plumber they recommended.

We are nearing completion and we are very pleased with Jim and Cedar Southwest Construction. We solicited 3 bids. Two were from construction/remodel companies, and one was from a large residential building company in town. Jim was the only one that took the time to give us a detailed bid. That was the first indication that we could trust him, and he hasn't let us down. He is professional, knows his stuff, and makes sure things are done right. Every one of his subs has been professional as well. This job involved every part of a building project: footers, framing, making sure the lines of the floor wall and ceilings were continuous on the extension, plumbing, electrical, A/C and heat, sheet rock, exterior stucco, paint, custom cabinetry, tile, roofing, etc. Our house is a Stamm originally built in 1962, and as with any remodel on a house this age, there were surprises. Jim handled every problem. He has enough experience to think creatively about how to solve problems. He listens well, and has been good at accomodating our wishes. He has put a great deal of energy into finding good subs (e.g. plumber, electrician, stucco, etc). That is important because the subs spend a lot of time on the job (which in our case means in our house). Jim has experience with both big jobs and small. He keeps a small well qualified crew employed, and his positive relationships with his subs means he can upsize as needed.
