Caitco's call-taker was very responsive and recommended I try the City of Santa Fe first because the problem could be somewhere in the city pipeline to my home. I appreciated that. She also called back multiple times to check on my progress and to send someone 24/7 if I needed that. I actually had to ask her to wait until I called her after the City workers were done. Even though city worked in street for hours and reported they didn't think this was something in those sewer lines, somehow the water which had backed up receded. If it wasn't the city pipes, why had the level gone down? Strangely, the City came back with 2 trucks the next morning and continued work on the street in front of my house. Coincidental? Caitco had quoted a very expensive hourly rate to snake into my pipes, and an even more expensive cost to use their special camera which detects blockage. I called numerous other companies on your list who were more reasonable and who didn't use a camera unless it seemed necessary. However, because my plumber had recommended Caitco, I decided to bite the bullet and use them. They arrived promptly and told me they would offer me a slight discount because??? I had called the real estate broker who had helped me buy this house a year ago, and he suggested I ask whether they could do the snaking first... and if that didn't work, THEN use the camera to avoid paying the additional money if the problem could be solved without it. The 2 guys at my door said they couldn't do that. HAD to use the very expensive camera at about $398/hour. After about 40 min they were done, announcing that they hadn't seen much blockage from plant growth but had removed some of what they saw. Their explanation didn't tell me why my problems had occurred. I also asked whether they had removed all of the obstructive material, and they said that wasn't something they were supposed to do or could do at this time. ??? It seemed to me that they could have snaked the pipes first without using their camera, since it was clear that mine was a very minor problem. But then they wouldn't have been able to charge me the additional hundreds of dollars. The only solid suggestion they gave was to consider installing a Back Flow Protector the price of which I could check with their office. I did that. Cost? $1000 or more!! I wouldn't use them again because I still don't know what they and quot;fixed,and quot; as per the receipt I was given. Decided to contact Wilson, the owner of this company, to try to get more information and to ask why the camera had to have been used. He claimed that his workmen are supposed to assess a job at the outset and determine whether or not the camera is required. That determination is up to them. Not so: these guys told me emphatically that there was no option-- the camera had to be used. I really hate this double-talk from the owner, sounding something like, and quot;Well, I wasn't there at the time they did the work, so I can't account for what they told you.and quot; It was totally clear that this company requires that their high-priced camera needs to be used FOR EVERY JOB. This work came at the highest hourly rate. Sure, I got a discount, but that comes off a remarkably high cost to begin with! After the work was done, I tried to reach the owner, leaving messages for 2 days before he returned my call. When I mentioned that, he brushed it off and just wanted to know why I was calling. Then he was totally unmoveable and disinterested in explaining what had been wrong and why that camera was necessary for such a seemingly quick, uncomplicated fix. Never again.

We used CaitCo Drainworks during the summer. I called them for I think three things last summer. They were very, very good, very professional, they were here to do the job. They were very fair.

to get to the cleanout., he had to remove a large bush with a chain saw I provided. He then ran a snake down to the street and found roots in the pipe which he cut as much as possible. The plumber stated that sooner or later the roots would grow back and I would continue to have a problem . I will take care of it later!!

They were responsive via phone and were available quickly for the quote and service. They arrived timely and completed the work quickly. Everything was done well with the exception of the caulking. The first attempt did not look good at all. I had them come back to fix it. A new person came out and spent a lot if time making it look good as new, at no extra charge. I was very happy with work and their professionalism.

Made the call. Quick return phone call. Set up a time and very punctual. Completed the work in the correct time.

They are excellent! They do very excellent work, have an excellent selection of materials, and offer you different options. They're extremely professional and always clean up after themselves. I plan to continue using them in the future!

Started and finished when promised and did a good job trying to preserve landscaping.

One morning I discovered water on the floor of one of our bathrooms. The walls in surrounding rooms were wet. Suspecting the toilet, I shut off its water supply. The plumber came out but was unable to find a certain source of the water. He told me about a camera they have which will allow inspection of the area around and behind the bathtub. I agreed to pay for this inspection. Between the first visit and the subsequent one when the plumber brought the camera, the water stains began to fade and there was no further sign of a leak. The plumber found a small leak -- not large enough to have been the source of the water on the walls -- under the bathtub. He repaired that leak. He also found that the float level in the toilet was very high, and adjusted it to a lower level. There has been no recurrence of the leak, though it seems (to me AND to the plumber) extremely unlikely, though possible, that the toilet caused the leak. I am not certain that the leak has actually been fixed, but there's no sign of additional leakage.

Sent 2 men to replace heater- 1 mainly stood around. I mentioned that shower didn't get cold (altho it worked fine for a regular hot shower )- the man who was standing around took shower valve apart and said it couldn't be adjusted, and put it back together. After they left, I discovered that the shower now wouldn't put out hot water and was unusable. As the plumber had told me that it was the fault of the shower, I didn't call them back. Instead I was going to try and fix it myself, or find someone else who didn't charge $150/hour. Three weeks afterward I found someone else to look at it. He (John Hawkins) discovered that they had lost a part of the shower valve when they took it out (basically breaking it) and put it in upside down. John replaced the shower valve cartridge and now the shower works fine. The Drainworks plumbers had also replaced only 2 of the 3 lines to the water heater, leaving an old line which started to leak the second the heater was moved a little. They had set the water heater directly on the floor and there was no way to drain it easily. John replaced all 3 lines with flexible material so the water heater can be moved and the lines turned off with no problems. He also added a T valve and raised the heater up on bricks so it can be drained easily. When I talked to the owner of Drainworks (it took me a week to get in contact with him as he never returned my calls) to complain and see if I could get some money back he said I should have called him sooner to comply with the warranty- altho my receipt explicitly says that unless specified on the invoice (which it wasn't) "there are no warranties express or implied". He then accused me of being lowballing everything and getting the cheapest material and services- even though I had done just the opposite in calling him, paying $150/hr for a licensed plumber and getting what he said was a quality heater, and thus more expensive than the one I was replacing. In the end he was just rude and refused to take any responsibility for what had happened.

Very well. After the problems with roto rooter, we were despriate to get the drains opened. We called Cait and they sent someone right out. He found the cleanouts right away (something that the roto rooter tech was unable to do) and finished the work promptly.
