ACTION GLASS & MIRROR

Kind of ghetto place. Went for a chip repair. Would not process the insurance claim, even though supposedly on the approved list of repair vendors so have to spend time on this. The repair was pretty crappy. I don't think they understand the basic process for chip repair - not enough vacuum. Tech put all of his tools directly on hood of car, no pad. I mentioned this to receptionist with an attitude who said that I should tell him not to do this. Place goes on my long list of sh*&%^ businesses to stay away from in Santa Fe.

nlyOnce I gave them the dimensions they wanted the 100$ upfront, which I paid. I was then promised to have them made by the next day in the evening (a We). I told the perosn, I would pick them up on Fr morning. When I went to pick them up on Fr morning they were not done, and the sales person, said it was promised for Fr. They said they would cut them within an hour. When I went back two hours later, they were still not done and I waited for another 45'. Finally when I got them the measurements were completely wrong. I had to reject them. They decided to make them again and a week later I got a new set. Again totally wrong, not a single angle was right. I told a new person there I really need to right dimensions (that was on a Fr) and she promised me by either Sa or Mo they would have it and she would call me. I never heard back and a week later I called them and they told me it is not ready and they don't have the manpower to do it right now. We are talking of 4 small triangles with the hypotenuse of 12". When I told the person, that in this case I want my money back, the person told me he will call me and hung up. This is the worst company I have evr dealt with in Santa Fe, and I am trying to get my money back. Not only are they trying to cheat me out of my money, but they are also incomptetent and extremely unfriendly.

I called before coming over to their shop (they had pre-ordered the replacement window), and the person on the phone said that they could start working on my car in half an hour and that it would take less than an hour and a half to fix. After I arrived, it was actually almost 2 hours before they pulled my car into the garage. By the time they finished, I was running late to pick up my kids. When I hopped in the car to depart, I noticed what looked like some little black slivers of foam on the floor. When I got home, there were black smudged stains on the upholstery of the driver's seat and also on the carpet in front of the driver's deat. Upon closer inspection, there were lots of these little black slivers, and they were leaving smudge stains on the dashboard, carpet, etc. When I tried to wipe these off, it just left black smudges, so I very carefully picked up as many pieces as I could (about 20). I called the company to report this, and the person on the phone said, "Yes, if you try to clean that stuff up yourself, you will just make it worse." No apology, no offer to fix it. I asked what I should do, and the person said, "If you bring it back, we will clean that out for you. You need a special cleaner to get it off." I live half an hour away, but two days later, I returned and they cleaned it off. I also asked them to clean off the adhesive that was smeared on the window frame from their replacing the window, and they cleaned that, too. They never apologized and seemed annoyed that they had to do this. I am having lots of window/screen work done on my house in the spring, and I will certainly not use this company to do that or ever work on one of my cars again. The price was reasonable compared to other estimates I got for replacing the windshield, but the time it took and the extra hassle of cleaning up the mess they left in my car was not worth it.

Overall a VERY bad experience. Don't hire them to do a plaster job and dealing with the owner is like dealing with an angry child.

We ordered a new sliding glass door from these people. It took several weeks for it to come in, and then two more weeks and many phone calls after that for them to come out to our home and install it. When they did, the workers filled our house with construction dust (they did not use plastic sheeting to keep the dust outdoors). After they left, a licensed construction/remodel expert saw their work and was horrified. Action Glass and Mirror had not used caulking, and they did not extend the black insulating paper around the door area. If it had not been re-done, moisture would have gotten into the wall of our home and deterioration would have occurred. We had to hire a person not affiliated with Action Glass to take the door out and do the installation properly, using caulking and insulation material. Six months later, the outside handle broke off the door. When we took the broken handle in to Action Glass for a replacement, they kept the handle and refused to return it, or help us replace it because I had written a bad review of them on CitySearch. I have noticed that several other people have written negative reviews for this company on CitySearch, that have since been taken down. Only glowing reviews appear on that site at this time. I joined Angies List specifically to warn other people against having a bad experience with this company. STAY AWAY FROM ACTION GLASS AND MIRROR!!

They placed the window in the open hole but DID NOT secure NOR seal it. We received rain and the water ran through the gaps between the window and the wall and ran down the inside of the walls of our home, damaging the plaster and our personal belongings. When I called them to fix the problem, they denied that they had done work for me. The work was supposed to be warranted for 10 years. I went to the BBB, they tried to close this case three times. The company still denied doing work for us (even after I provided a receipt with their company name and address embossed on it). The BBB closed the case. I went to the Attorney General who sent this company two letters. When the company again denied doing work for us, they closed the case. Other contractors call this company a "one hit wonder", stating that they get a lot of business reworking their jobs.
