On Monday, Ricky was unable to insert the new pump into the well for some reason and left after being on the job for about 90 minutes. Rick left for the day and returned Monday about 10:30 am with Leonard Harrison to install said bladder and new submersible water pump. I was allowed to measure the water level while the old pump had been removed at 21 feet from the top of the well head, or 18 feet below the surface of the ground we were standing on. Leonard and Ricky continued attempting to remove obstructions or what ever prevented the new well from going to the bottom of the well with a steel screw fabricated much like a cork screw for more than an hour. They re-inserted the new well to the bottom and connected the wires to test the pump. It worked fine, pumping water to the surface where we were standing. But the well supply line had not been connected to the house yet. Note: the Wire to the pump was not enclosed in plastic conduit as required by Dona Ana County to meet code... After closing up the well head and installing a new pump controller, Leonard and Ricky come to the house and replaced the bladder holding tank and cut a hole in my old tank to remove water that would not exit the old tank. Leonard Harrison brought a large compressor to clean out the well, but never installed a diverter and did not clean the well as planned. . Once the holding bladder tank was installed and my sand filter re-installed, we turned on the pump for about two minutes and no water came to the house. Leonard then handed me a bill for $3,195 dollars and said your well is dead. He did not offer any new suggestions and said he could not do anymore work when he left on Tuesday Sept 13th, I had no running water and no options made by Mr. Harrison. I called him on Friday Sept. 16th and requested new well drillers. He did not get back to me until Monday, Sept. 19th by phone with three possible drillers. On Thursday, Sept. 15th, I suspected Harrison Well Service not being of good standing or reputation, I contacted a friend that suggested a well known well service and driller who said they would be out on Friday the 16th to look at my well. After doing an initial walk around, he said he would return Saturday with compressor and special tools to clean the well casing and inspect the Harrison work. Upon completion of his work and the clearing of the well, pieces of the well end cap and casing came out of the well as did rocks, pebbles, and sand thru the diverter using the air compressor. The water level was about 22.2 feet from the top of the well head and the pump had been installed at a depth of 36 feet. Overall well depth was 44 ft. Still no water, as the new pump was not working at all. Here is the detailed report from Maverick Well Drilling and Pump Service [*** Link removed ***] Leonard Harrison and DBA Harrison Well Service does not know what they are doing.
Description of Work: We needed our Domestic Water Well Pump replaced. We called Leonard Harrison LLC on Sunday, Sept. 11th, 2016. He dispatched a person named Ricky, who pulled the water well that Sunday. Leonard Harrison was out of town at the State Fair. Ricky was cordial, polite, and anxious to get er done. He was on site for about two hours... Unfortunately, he did not have a replacement available and returned on Monday, Sept. 12th with a new pump and Bladder holding tank. IN THE PROCESS OF DISCOVERY WE LEARNED THE FOLLOWING: Harrison Well Service does not hold any license with the State of New Mexico, Dona Ana County, or the City of Las Cruces for doing business. The State of New Mexico Engineer also has no record of any license to work on wells of any kind.

Bladder in well surge tank developed leak which resulted in the well pump running more than necessary. I contacted Mr. Harrison to come out and diagnose the problem, and give me an estimate to replace the tank. He looked over the situation and gave me an estimate to replace the tank with one of the same size - he told me that I didn't need one that big, but I decided to stay with the same size. He arranged to come out the next week on Monday. He called on Monday to delay the installation until Thursday of that same week. Two of his employees arrived on Thursday and proceeded to cut the PVC plumbing between the well, the tank, and the house. When they went to install the new tank, it turned out to be shorter and had a bigger diameter - it wouldn't fit in the allotted space. They re-installed the original tank and "repaired" the plumbing. They then proceeded to order a smaller tank and returned the next week to install it - this time Mr. Harrison came to do the plumbing. The tank fit in the original space without problem, but the plumbing of the piping was more complicated because of the prior "repair". The new tank and plumbing seems to be working fine - I only had to tighten one coupling fitting after they left. I probably wouldn't call them again because of the delays involved due to not measuring things before they tore out the old tank the first time. In his defense, Mr. Harrison did not charge for the extra trips or the extra fittings required because of the first installation, but, then again, he did not give me a discount because of the extra time and inconvenience of installing the tank twice.

We called for a quote for a well inspection on a house we are buying. He told us $150. Our Realtor called to set up the appointment. She asked how much, he said $150. We got the bill, the charge for the well inspection was $150, BUT he tacked on a $75 service call. The problem is not the extra $75, the problem in his lack of honesty when telling us (and our Realtor) what the price REALLY was. I was misled and/or lied to! The well needs a coulpe of thousand dollars worth of work- Harrison's WILL NOT be doing it.
Description of Work: Simple testing and inspection of the domestic water well on a house we are buying.
