I went online to shop around for a good price since I couldn't afford an expensive bill. It was fairly a simple job. I needed the two water hose valves replaced outside my house. They were leaking. One of the valves was in a difficult position, so understandably it took longer than the other. It took about an hour to replace two valves. I didn't like the way one valve was sticking out too far from the wall. But he replaced it with another style that worked fine. And it only took minutes to change out. Their hourly rate (62.00 dollars an hour) is a good price. But I'm not sure the cost of the valves didn't make up the difference I would have paid with another plumber. I thought the cost of the valves was quite pricey. I should have bought my own and had them ready for them to be replaced. But overall the plumber did a good job.

Description of Work: Plumber arrived without the proper tools. Had to go back to the shop to get the right equipment and I was charged for the time. The entire situation was a losing proposition for me from beginning to end. The owner did not do one thing I asked and I feel he took advantage of my being out of town to send workers to my house unsupervised. I had only asked that the water be turned off and for a phone call to discuss rates before assigning the job. This did not happen. In fact, nothing I asked for happened. This is a terrible company and I would not refer my worst enemy to them.
Description of Work: My caretaker called me while I was on vacation to tell me that a leak had sprung under the kitchen floor. I called Super Plumbing long distance and was told that one of the plumbers would come by my house (it was after hours) to turn off the water. I asked the owner not to begin any work until we spoke in the morning. I wanted to know what his rates were, etc., before I was going to give them the job. The next thing I know, my caretaker told me that two men were at my house all morning and were going to bill me $600.00 and would come back Monday to try and find the leak. She also informed me that one of the men had done nothing all morning but follow her around, making her so uncomfortable that she had to leave the house. When I heard this, I called the owner and told him that I had asked him to call me before beginning any work. He did not call, he did not come to the house himself, but sent two assistants (one who appeared to work at trying to find the leak and one who only flirted with the female caretaker). They never did find the leak and sent me a bill for $600.00 for the two workers for 9 hours of nothing! I had no recourse but to pay it or be turned over to a collection company. I told the owner my feelings, the situation with the assistant who did nothing, and that I did not feel the bill was fair. He refused to lower the bill. This company did nothing to remedy my situation. I had to hire another company and start from scratch. The new company found the leak in less than two hours.

The man was supposed to be dispatched at 8:00 am, but did not arrive until 9:05. He ran a diagnosis and said he had to go get the part and would be right back. He was gone in excess of 1 hour. He returned at 11:10 and replaced the part. He was finished at 11:25. He presented his bill with no explanation of the charges. The bill was presented to a deaf elderly relative who was in shock at the price, but paid the bill. When I looked at the bill, I immediately called the office and complained. At the end of the day, I was told it would be discussed with the boss and he would call on Monday to resolve the questions. On Monday, I had to call the office late in the afternoon since I had not received a call. Today, Tuesday, I called again and was eventually forwarded to the boss. He was no help. I explained that the charges for 3.5 hours was incorrect and was told that he charges from the time the man is dispatched. Since he only had to travel 3 miles, I believe that an hour's "travel time" is ridiculous. I was also told that "parts chasing" time was also a legitimate charge. I believe the man was goofing off on the way to the job and while "chasing parts". When questioned, the owner allowed that he would reimburse us for 30 minutes labor. He did not take any of my questions or concerns seriously. I will be filing a complaint with the State licensing board and the Better Business Bureau. I also intend to spread the word about this unscrupulous business owner to anyone and everyone who will listen. The only reason Super Plumbing was called was because they had installed the furnace for the original owner. I was told by the neighbor that the elderly woman who had owned the home was criminally overcharged by Super Plumbing at the time of the furnace purchase and that her caretakers had complained and were treated with the same disregard as we were. The man should be ashamed of taking advantage of the elderly and infirm.
Description of Work: The job was to diagnose & replace faulty igniter in furnace.
