POLAR HEATING

I have a vivint door camera and picture with correct times and pictures on my phone of the two dials with my original dial. Check better business bureau for this companies rating since obviously didn't vent them to begin with,

It went very badly. They installed the heating and cooling units upside down. We were not aware of that, being amateurs. We had very high utility bills for a year. When we had someone come to change the filters a year later, they noticed that the equipment had been installed upside down. We called Polar and they agreed to come and fix it but they wanted to charge us to fix their own terrible mistake that had cost us a lot of extra money and worse utility bills than we should have had. If my husband weren't a lawyer, they would have really really pushed to have us pay. They were really insisting on not fixing it unless we paid extra.

Bob George of Polar Heating and Refrigeration set an exact appointment time to arrive at my home then showed up 40 minutes early and acted irritated by phone that someone was not there at that time. He was misleading in pricing for the replacement part. He did not state clearly that not only was he going to charge so much for so many hours of his time to purchase the part and install it but that he would also place a substantial mark up on the replacement part itself. He called me a liar when I stated that I found the manufacturer's replacement part online for 46% less than what he charged me for it. Two other trades people in heating and cooling returned my calls later the same day after the part had been replaced. One told me the replacement part cost was actually almost half the price, that I was over charged for this job and a fair price for this job would have been $150-$200 less. My advice: Do not employ Polar Heating and refrigeration.

I think that the service was very poor because, there was a part that was guaranteed for 5 years and two months before it ended it quit working. The guy came out and put in the new one and wanted to be paid. I called the owner and he got mad at me and told me, if I did not pay him, he would sue me and take my house. He kept bugging me and I finally called him and he was nice to me and apologized and said that it was a misunderstanding. I did pay for the labor but, not the part. I think that the pricing was good except, he was going to charge me for the part.

Bob George is a pleasant guy to work with. He converted our existing AC to refrigerated air (using a 16 seer Goodman AC unit.) This also included installing a new heater with the cooling coils. In all the job took the better part of the day (6-8 hours) and the job went pretty smooth. They kept the area clean and Bob communicates real well as the project progresses. On a side note, the blower stopped working on a Friday night, July 2014, but Bob came out on a Saturday (after an early Saturday morning call) to replace the blower motor, but unfortunately, the real issue was circuit board which he replaced the following Monday. It was around 90 days after the install and he still did not charge us for the parts or the labor. Awesome customer service! Thanks Bob. I highly recommend Polar Heating.

The fee for on-site review is half of other companies, but, they will make up the difference in the final bill. The owner of the company did the work because he was the only one available that day. The work seemed to be straight forward, that is, replace blower motor and capacitor. The problem started when he decided to use a motor that did not quite fit instead of replacing with an original replacment motor. The resut was terrible,. He needed to bend the fan blades and add washers to the motor housing bolts to try and keep everything from rubbing and crunching into each other. I was losing confidence in his knowledge and capability andI finally told him that I wanted the proper motor so that all would fit correctly. If he would have done that intially would have save a lot of time. Once the right motor was used all went togerher quickly. In the final bill he added an additional $50 because he had to go get the right motor. He also added more for his labor eventhough the time added was his responsiblility. What really bothered me was what happened when I questioned the bill. He became an angry bully and I decided to pay him just not to have to deal with him anymore. I suspect this is thier general approach inorder to keep customers from questioning. If you decide to use this company, get as much up front detail on the priciing of materials and labor to help prevent padding the fees.

They were prompt and fast. They explained what was going on and what they were doing and they did a great job.

. Bob diagnosed the problem with my home's central air conditioning system and he immediately gave me an estimate to replace a defective electrical componant. Since his price was very fair I asked him to replace that defective part. From start to finish it took him about 15 minutes and the problem was solved. Since it's about 100 degrees today this was really a "life saver" for me. Bob arrived 15 minutes after I called him. He was very professional and polite and he explained, in detail, just what he had to do to fix the problem. His diagnosis was correct and the a/c system is working perfectly now. I am very happy with what he did and I would certainly use him again in the future.

They were there promptly at the appointment time that was established. Bob George was with his crew and explained in detail what was going to happen. We had used his services a couple of times before to get the old one running and for a repair but it was determined after it broke down for a 3rd time that we no longer wished to do repair work on a dead and dying cooler, we chose to have this very wonderful Swamp Cooler installed. It performs very well. I had one problem with it, the float was just a wee bit to high. I called Bob and they were over in about 30 minutes checking it out and made the adjustments for it and all. They want to see you happy and stand behind their work. I found them to be as reasonable as anyone else plus they had great recommendations from other Mobile Home owners in the park as well.

I have been very happy with them.
