Dave was great to work with. They were here on-time, fairly priced, did a good job diagnosing the problem and the washer was repaired within a couple days.

I started by doing my own research to fix my problem. I identified the issue, bought a part, and replaced the part. It did not work for me so I called mr appliance. I was told there was a charge for diagnostic and if I chose to go through with the repair, the diagnostic was waived and only the cost of the repair. The tech arrived, I told him what the issue was and what I found in the manual. I expected him to perform the diagnostic as I was told, then offer me repair and tell me the price allowing me to choose if I wanted it done. What happened is that he spent about 90 minutes looking at his tablet and put the dishwasher into diagnostic mode to test the cycles. What I missed was the step of putting the dishwasher into diagnostic mode to clear the error code. Once he pressed the proper 2 button combo, the machine was in diagnostic mode and the error was cleared. This made my part work perfectly. He spent so much time "diagnosing" the issue, even though I told him what the issue is. He spent about 6 minutes actually doing any work on it, but he never told me he was gonna do it. I expected the report from his "diagnostics" along with the price and option to continue repair if I wanted to. But instead, I just got handed a bill. The dishwasher cost me $400 new, and the replacement part I found was $80, the tech said he part would have been $160. Now the part at 80 and the "repair" cost at 190, it is costing me $270 to fix a $400 machine. I feel that It is unfair that I was never given the choice like I was promised. Also, why did was the tech here almost 2 hours to do 6 minutes of work? Feels like milking the clock to justify the high price. I was caring for my infant son so I was a bit distracted, perhaps this was taken advantage of. I chose this place because the reviews were mostly positive, but I now regret it. Since the only step I missed while attempting to repair it myself was to put it in diagnostic mode to clear the error, I feel I have been grossly overcharged and taken advantage of as a customer. There is obviously no sense of business ethics or common courtesy. I called and spoke to the Rio Rancho franchise owner and he was not willing to help me, he was not even empathetic to my situation. Needless to say I am dissatisfied. BTW, the techs are supposed to wear booties so their shoes do not mark my floor. My tech walked all the way into the house and up to the machine before putting on the booties. When he had to go outside for something, he took off the booties at the machine and walked through the house again without the booties. He apparently only wore them for show.
