The work done was satisfactory. It was his accounting and in sneaking in supplies that were not used at all on my job but which I paid for with my credit card that he cheated me on as well as in charging twice as much as reasonable for his labor. He was devious and fraudulent.
Description of Work: Jonathan did stucco patching on my home first...and gave the estimate before I hired him to do that job. Then he had time the Friday he finished that job and said he could get started on the bathroom remodel that day and probably finish up on Sat. No estimate was given but he set up a time for me to meet him at a nearby Lowe's to make the decisions on toilets and cabinetry selections and I paid with my credit card for the 'supplies' needed. That happened on schedule after he spent 2 hours in the morning removing the old toilets (2) and old cabinetry.. He and his brother-in-law helper Adam completed the installations of the two toilets and cabinet with counter-top, sink and faucets all done in 3 hours that afternoon. The work done was satisfactory. It was in reviewing the receipt from Lowe's that I discovered he'd obtained $94 worth of supplies (charged to me) that weren't in any way involved in my project. Then he asked for a check to pay for his labor so he could get it to the bank before closing time -5:30. Because the materials that had been charged to my credit card at that time came to over $1000, I did not hesitate to write the amount for labor at just at $1000 as an old axiom is that the labor charges equal what the material charges are. It was only later that I realized he'd charged me $200 an hour for the work he'd done. $100 an hour is the highest hourly wage of any such laborer for that kind of construction work.He would not come to give me a receipt for that labor when I requested that he do so and from then on would not pick up his phone when I called, nor did he ever respond to my messages left for him to bring the receipt or explain his charges. He is with the O.P. Fire Protection Company and should be carefully watched for such fraudulent charges. I certainly would not recommend him to anyone!
