JOE'S CITY LOCK

Joe and his assistant were WONDERFUL. I called the day before and he was able to get me on his schedule within 24 hours, on a Saturday! His assistant (I apologize, I did not get his name) was so knowledgeable and they worked as a great team. They installed a deadbolt on my oak door (which is THICK and HEAVY and hard to drill through) and it looks and works perfectly. They also cleaned out the existing lock that was sticking. If I need any other locksmith work, he’ll be my first call.

This was not our first experience with Joe's City Lock which is why we didn't shop around. Once again, no regrets, great service and outcome. Thanks guys!

Joe came to my house within 30 minutes after I called. I had a deadbolt lock that would not close correctly. He removed the lock and refined the entrance for the deadbolt and replaced the metal part. I was very pleased with the work, and I would hire him again and refer him to my neighbors and friends.

Upsetting. I made an appointment. He arrived on time. He is an adequate locksmith.He did the work I asked for but one lock is still not working. I felt very uncomfortable with this man in my house. For some reason, he ran into my living room where he had no reason to be. He looked around and commented on my drapes. He looked around other rooms and commented on my computer and car which were absolutely none of his business. He was also verbally aggressive and demanded to know if I lived alone! Unbelievable. This man will never be called to my property again, ever.

I called today, a Saturday, not long before his closing time, and rather than make an appt for a future time, he came out this afternoon. He was able to repair the lock, rather than replace it. On his way out, after I'd already paid, he noticed that the front door had a problem. It also wouldn't stay closed with the lock as it was. So he fixed that as well, no extra charge. Overall, a very positive experience.

Joe called me a few times on Monday AM to give me an update on his work load and his estimated time to arrive at my house. When he got to my house, I told him what needed to be done and had already purchased the new deadbolt and door lock from lowes. He was very efficient. He installed the new lock set on the main front door. Then adjusted the key that came with the new set to also lock and open the security door. We checked it out to make sure I could get back in house once he left. He was efficient and did a great job. Price was very reasonable as well. Will definitely call Joe again if the need arises.

It didn't go anywhere. Half an hour after my scheduled appointment, no locksmith, no phone call. I called to inquire his ETA, and he told me that his van had been in the shop the day before, he'd just gotten it back. So he knew a day ahead of my appointment as well as the day of my appointment that he didn't have a van, a phone call at some point would have been appreciated since I took off work specifically to meet him at 1pm. Very unprofessional to miss an appointment and not call.

Joe was on time and rekeyed the two locks I wanted changed. He worked quickly, explained things, asked how I wanted the knobs, and lubricated one sticky lock. He gave me the Angie's List discount and gave me an extra key.

Joe is great! He came right out to the house and got all 10 locks done within an hour or so at a great price. I have used him before and will use him again. He is prompt, polite, professional, and a great guy.

He almost ran me over in his blue van while I was walking on the side of the road in my quiet neighborhood on April 29, 2013. I had to jump out of his way, and Yes, he was headed straight at me.

He made himself available either the day I called or the day after I called. I thought his prices were extremely reasonable. The lock that we thought was broken only needed to be oiled. He had a reasonable minimum service call fee which was $40. I don't think he charged us to oil the last one that he took apart but he only ended up charging us to change the locks. He made extra keys for us at a reasonable cost. I would definitely use him again.

I presented Joe's City Lock with a difficult problem -- somehow securing my non-locking file cabinet for which I had no key and couldn't get one. They came up with a brilliant and cost-effective solution, adding a metal bar to the side of the cabinet, government-style, through which I could put a padlock. A new file cabinet would have cost me about $400-500, so at $90 their services were a bargain! I was very pleased with my experience with Joe's City Lock. They also replaced the locks on our house after our keys were stolen and they included a free "large" key, which I love.
