Harald Christiansen

We had a great experience with Harald, and have already used him again. He was careful, considerate and meticulous, and did a terrific job. We have no reservations in recommending him to others.

From start to finish, this project was a real delight. It was my first experience using Angie's List and now I am a true believer in the service, largely because of the great work of Mr. Christansen. He responded quickly when I asked for an appointment to get a quote, working me into a weekend morning. He clearly is an expert in his field and offered great advice about the painting project. One area that I needed painted also had some incomplete work by a previous flooring contractor, which is likely something I'd never have noticed. But I was able to get it fixed before his painting. He scheduled my project to be done within a month of my quote and was like clockwork in his communications and communicated timelines. Also, his quote was well beneath the other one that I got. And when the project was done, he came in under the quote because he was able to save money on supplies. The painting looks great and he is very detail-oriented and careful to protect a home's furnishings during what could be a very disruptive process. I highly recommend Harald and will be returning to him when I'm ready to have woodwork or other rooms re-painted.

Harald completed the job in a timely manner and the quality of the work was great.

The bedroom had many nail pops that needed attention. And both rooms needed two coats of paint. Harald came to the house on time, did an excellent job and left the two rooms in excellent condition when he was finished.

Harald is an extraordinary painter! He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, cooperative and conscientious. The quality of his painting is very, very good. He had challenges with our high ceilings, but got it done . . . beautifully and efficiently. I would highly recommend him.

At the time I scheduled the job with Harald, he was quite busy and estimated that it may be 2 to 3 weeks before he could be available. However, he said he would let me know if he had an unexpected opening in his schedule. Fortunately, for me, he called less than a week later to tell me that such an opening did occur and he would be able to come the next day. He arrived the next morning at the promised time and, working alone, he was able to complete the entire job before the end of the day. When I originally found Harald Christiansen on Angie's List, I read many of the outstanding reviews he has earned. Now, based upon my personal experience, I can confirm that those reviews represent the norm for Harald, not the exception. In my opinion, this man is a true professional, in every sense of the word, who takes pride in his work and his customer relationships. From start to finish, it was a pleasure doing business with him.

The job took about a day and a half. He did an excellent job. Very detail oriented, A wonderful and professional person to deal with.

After reading Harald's stellar reviews here on angieslist, we contacted him to give us an estimate. He came out within a few days to see the project in person and review it in detail. He sent us a written estimate within a couple days. We felt good about Harald in person, so I asked to be added to his schedule. Even though he couldn't get to us for a couple months we decided it was worth waiting for him. We prefer to find small one man service companies where all the reviews you read here are about the owner. And you know that same person will be the one in your home. We like this over companies where the owner might send one of his 10 guys on his crew to your place. It took 3.5 full work days to complete the project, but Harald was very easy to work with. He was responsive to emails and texts, and we could count on him being there when he said. We felt very comfortable with Harald in our home even when we were away at work for the day. His painting skills are impeccable and we don't have a single nitpick we could find wrong with the job he did. His cut lines between accent wall corners are perfect, and his cut lines between walls and ceilings is flawless. He is extremely quality conscious. He is clean, and picks up each day with no issues. Harald even rolled smoothly with an unexpected change when we panicked and changed our minds on a color after he had painted for a few hours using it, and we came home from work and felt it was darker than we had imagined. While yes we did of course agree and want to pay for new paint and for the labor to redo it, he didn't give us a hard time at all, since he knows the importance of getting the right color and being happy with the end result. After changing one color out of four, we are now absolutely thrilled with the final end result. This is the second time I've invited Harald to paint for us. Our new home needed some paint in a couple of rooms which have fairly high ceilings and, based on previous experience, I hired him without question to paint in the new home. His discount was a little lower this time as I understand that Angie's list has raised rates, but I hired him anyway, knowing that I would be happy with his work. He was done with his work so soon that we didn't even see him as we were making our first moving run to the new house. My wife was extremely happy with the results. Harald is extremely easy to work with, very polite and punctual, and provides a quote on the spot. I highly recommend him if you want quality work done.

Harald pays meticulous attention to detail for prep work as well as painting. The completed work is excellent, and we would definitely hire Harald again foir future painting work.

Perfect!!! There was no way I was going to climb a tall ladder and paint a tall front room. Harald was polite and to the point when coming in for a quote. He kept me up to date with the cost. The only variance from the quote was due to my color choice. Very professional. Took 3 days. Cleaned up after each day. Highly Recommend.

Out of all the painters I called for estimates, Harald was the only one who took the time to come to our house to look at the rooms and give us a quote. I really appreciate the extra time he took to do this! He had given us an estimate of sometime within August when he would be able to get to our project, but to our delight he called towards the end of July and was able to fit us in early! We had taken chair rail off the walls in the nursery, which left quite a bit of wall repair that needed to be done. Harald did an awesome job patching up the nail holes and damaged drywall and the walls look like new after a couple coats of paint! When he got to the master bedroom, he told me he plastered the dents in the walls from the chair rail that had been removed from that room as well, which was a surprise to us as that room didn't have chair rail when we bought it! Sure enough, after he had plastered you could see the spots the previous owners hadn't quite fixed around the room. It shows the meticulous attention to detail that Harald takes to make sure the job is done right. We will definitely be calling Harald for future painting needs!

Harold is a great guy, very professional and extremely prideful in his work. Our walls never looked better after the detailed prep work he did.

Harald arrived promptly to go over the house and provide an estimate. I had just purchased this home and wanted the entire home painted before having carpet installed. Harald was able to fit me in his schedule that week! We went through every room in detail and he made several suggestions including recommending to not paint the cabinets and trim. Obviously less painting reduces his income so I was impressed, needless to say. There were so many things going on with getting the house ready to move into that I was a bit scattered and had to call Harald a couple of times to request changes or answer his questions about handling certain areas. This never seemed to frustrate Harald and he did everything I asked. The house looks better than I could have imagined. Harald even left the last of the paints for touch up and labeled them! I would not hesitate to recommend him and will definitely call him again when I need a painter. Harald is highly professional, does excellent and thorough work, and is tidy! To boot, he's very friendly and calm ...all pluses in my book.

I was very pleased with his honesty. At this time I chose not to have him come out and give an estimate due to his timeline, but would definitely call him again for estimates on future work.

This is the first time my wife and I have ever hired a professional painter. In the past I've always done any and all painting myself. I've seen so many terrible "professional" paint jobs that I could only trust myself to ensure a quality job (I'm extremely anal when it comes to painting). Now with 3 small children (all boys) there's no longer time to do painting projects. It's just too difficult. After a lot of research and reading dozens of reviews we decided to give Harald a try. My wife and I hired him to paint our entire master suite as well as do some minor dry wall repair in our stairwell. He did a phenomenal job! All we can say is "WOW!!!". His quality is the definition of perfect. He's very timely and diligent, and is very systematic about how he completes his work. His prices were fair..if not more than fair. We've already hired him to do another small project and will hire him for all painting projects in the future. He was also very patient with our 3 boys' curiosity, and small dog, which was an added bonus.

Harald was awesome. He had to clean up my mess from wall paper removal which was not completely clean off of wall paper glue. He did a beautiful job painting dining room, living room and guest bedroom. On time and called back promptly - pleasure to work with. He had cleaned up the area to perfection. He even helped out with our puppy Vinny a few times. We will definitely call Harald again when we need a painter.

A couple were very difficult because rooms had very dark colors. Made good recommendations on paint type.

Harald responded to my first request for an estimate. He came when he said he would to conduct the estimate. Once hired he showed up on time and completed the job in the estimated time frame and at the estimated charges. He filled and repaired all of the chips, cracks and dings in our wall. The quality of the work was outstanding.

We are very happy with Harald's work in our home -- He did a great job. He was very reasonably priced and was able to get in and get started with our project very quickly after we made the easy decision to choose him. He is punctual, professional, and does a great job of picking everything up at the end of the day. Despite my tardiness in getting this review up, I have given his name out to two other people in the area looking for a good and honest painter. We would definitely use him again for any other painting projects!

I couldn't be more pleased! Harald did a great job. He was very prompt fast and professional from beginning to end. You can tell upon meeting him he is a very fair and honest person. I've handed his info out to friends already and there is no doubt he would be my first call for any painting I needed.

Great experience. I was looking at the last minute for someone to paint my living room/ dining room ceilings while the furniture was removed for a flooring project. Talked to Harald Wednesday morning, he came by and gave me an estimate in the afternoon (which was lower than 2 other estimates I had received) and did the job the next day - and the ceilings look perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Would definitely hire Harald again.

The job went very well. Harald estimated it would take 3-4 days for the project and he was right in line with his estimate (3 full days and one morning to finish the bathroom). There were some minor wall repairs and issues in a few spots and his repair work was fantastic. He even found an embedded nail in the drywall that he removed and repaired so it didn't appear as a nail pop that would've looked like it didn't get fixed. The detail in the prep is part of the key to the quality of work. He removed the lights/switchplates, everything to paint as completely behind things as he can and puts it all back like he wasn't even there. :) Everything turned out beautifully. He came to the house prior to the scheduled start day to get our paint selection and I let him know I wanted a non-VOC paint even if it increased estimate. He communicated the cost of the paint the next morning and was very truthful and transparent about costs (didn't affect estimate ultimately). There were no other added costs/hidden surprises as he performed the work again he was up front about everything, timing, choices what he'd done that day. I'd also like to comment on his daily clean up. He left virtually no mess every day. Each night the only sign a painter was there was the new paint on the walls and the equipment he left in the house (we'd moved the furniture and accomodated the space he'd need for work and left him space to leave his equipment so he wouldn't have to bring it in each morning). Other than the equipment there was no dust on the floor no mess no fuss. If you're looking for a painter for interior paint and want high quality and to go with a good local guy you really can't go wrong choosing Harald. We are beyond pleased and have already discussed having him back when we re-paint our bedrooms and home office.
