I am not one to leave negative reviews very often, but I would like to share my experience with Sierra Enterprises. My parents and I have used them to maintain our gas furnace for over 20 yrs. They even left a sticker "Call Sierra! for maintenance" on it from the last time they were here. Since then my father passed away from cancer. Recently our furnace started to act up (and it was middle of a cold winter) and I called them on behalf of my elderly mother to schedule a visit. After a short conversation with a woman who picked up, where I felt she didn't even try to listen to me describing the issue, she called us the next morning and left a message stating that she is cancelling the appointment because her husband, Dave, only installs new furnaces and doesn't do any maintenance on heating systems that he didn't install himself!!! So much for paying hundreds of dollars to this business over the years and for being a loyal customer, and for leaving an elderly widow with a non-working furnace in the middle of a winter!!! My father kept all the receipts from all the years with all the payments, so I have proof. P.S. After leaving my review on Google, two years later I found out that they made sure it doesn't show up on their business (by changing their address). If that doesn't tell you enough about this business in our small town, I don't know what will!

He fixed it. It required specialized knowledge of the furnace and its controls, and rewiring of the control box. Also, finding controls that were no longer made. Also, he responded on a Sunday.

It went well. The work was done on schedule and within original budget. Excellent workmanship.

I was pleased with his professionalism and the quality of the work was excellent. The time to redo the whole system was very good.

It went very well. He was prompt and professional. He understood the system and knew exactly what needed to be done. He quickly made the repair at a reasonable cost.

David was here within 20 minutes of our call (we were without heat on a cold January night). Within a few minutes he had identified the problem, found a replacement valve in his truck, and repaired it. He then took time (on a Sunday night, remember!) to give the unit a once-over, notice a problem with the thermocouple, and replace it. It is a joy to watch David work. He is knowledgeable, methodical, even elegant. When he replaced our boiler 5 years ago he took time to help us make an informed decision on how to choose a replacement that would fit our needs and our existing plumbing. He also took time to layout the new plumbing cleanly and understandably. Such a welcome change! Those of you who have dealt with 1960's Los Alamos plumbing will be nodding your heads in sympathy about now. David is kind, considerate, and impeccably professional. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We have used David at Sierra Ent. for this, and a new furnace not too long ago and the Guy is great! Work has been fast and of high quality . We would have no problem using His services again as needed. Plus He's local and backs up what He does.

David at Sierra Enterprises replaced a furnace for a friend of ours a few years back, while I was watching their house. I was very impressed with him. Later that same year we had him go through our furnace and do what he could to make it perform better. He did an excellent job. The furnace lasted three or four more years. We finally decided to replace the furnace and the water heater to make it more efficient as well as update the performance. We are extremely happy. It was a big expenditure and took so time to get used to the price tag. So far the water heater is performing far beyond our expectations. We look forward to the cold weather this year in order to see how the furnace does. I would definitely use Sierra again although I doubt we will need them.

Saturday morning. Day before leaving on a trip. Boiler dies, hard, leaking water all over the floor. Panic calls to every plumber in town. David Smith, proprietor of Sierra Enterprises, not only returns my call within minutes but also drives over (on a Saturday), checks out the damage, discusses repair/replace options, and then comes back later that day with space heaters for us to borrow during what was to be a 2-week outage. Our 40-year-old boiler could not reasonably be fixed. David advised us on options for a new one, answered our many questions, helped us decide how to proceed and what to get as a replacement. He then ordered it, delivered it, and installed it. Installation was a doozy because the original boiler was a poorly thought out rat's nest. (Those of you who know Los Alamos and the “I’m a physicist and I can do anything” mentality are nodding understandingly at this point). David meticulously planned the replacement plumbing, methodically laid it out, and made sure we had a maintainable, reliable layout that would last us for many years. David is a professional. He plans well, does careful work, and rightfully takes pride in it. He plumbs the way I like to code: understanding that the job isn’t done when you walk out, that we leave something that will need to be revisited in the future (possibly by us) and that we have a responsibility to that future person. He is also warm, kind, and a pleasure to speak with. If you’re looking for the lowest bid you might not choose Sierra Enterprises. If you’re looking for high-quality work, attention to detail, and long-lasting peace of mind, give them a call.

We have had David inspect our furnace and hot water heater on many occasions. In 2008 he indicated he could no longer adjust the heater such that the flue gases were within acceptable levels and he recommended we replace it. He was prompt and did an excellent job. With the heater out of the closet I was able to take a good look at it and was severely rusted out in the interior. Thanks to David for catching it. A couple years later and our very old hot water heater started acting up. Considering it's age we decided to just replace it which David did a great job on.

Others in the plumbing and heating business would do well to emulate Sierra's responsiveness to customers and thoroughness in fulfilling customer expectations.

David responded to my call and identified the source of my concern for the presence of carbon monoxide in the air stream. He offered to begin the job immediately. The work was completed within 2 days.

David came out to look at our old unit right away and was promt with His proposal. The team came out the next day and with good planning and some good luck, supplier came with brand new unit, and they quickly swapped the old one out for the new and We had heat. It was great to work with them! Great price,service and unit. We couldn't be happier.
