Mark did not return my initial call, but it was a 3-day weekend, so giving him the benefit of the doubt, I called him again. This time I spoke with him in person. I explained what I needed & he asked me to email the info. to him. He made it seem like he was interested, but said he was busy for the next few weeks. I never heard back from him, despite a third call and message. This has delayed my project by at least 2 months, as Thanksgiving and Christmas are in the "way." Mark should have just been honest up front rather than leaving me "hanging." My project would be done by now. Disappointed beyond belief. Extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't bother calling at all, but if you do, if he doesn't return your 1st call, I recommend moving on.

Description of Work: Mark is very professional but still friendly and sociable. My problem was complicated, Mark found an innovative solution and very efficiently solved it. The subcontractor that did the simple preliminary work charged more per hour than Mark did and it required no electrical knowledge at all. Mark came in and finished it quickly. His bill was very modest It was the end of a two year electrical problem no one else could solve. I have had only a couple positive contractor experiences in Los Alamos and he is one of them.

I called and emailed to try to get a quote to do about $4k of electrical work in a newly purchased home - no reply whatsoever, even a courtesy "I'd love to, but I'm way too busy to do anything in the next 4 months" kind of thing would have been at least an effort.

He diagnosed the problem with my DSL in just a few minutes (I had spend hours on the phone with my DSL provider, and they were unable to figure out what was wrong.). I was a defective DSL splitter. After testing a number of other things to determine if this was the only problem, he also identified and fixed some miswirings that had been made. Finally, he put together some cat5 jacks to allow me to connect my TVs to the internet. We discussed some more expensive solutions to my issues, but he was very sympathetic to my desire to save money and came up with cheaper but acceptible solutions. He was a pleasure to work with.

I called because he lives nearby and I've seen his ad and his truck. I left a message. No response. I called a few days later. No response. I may have even left a note on his door - I don't remember. But he never bothered to get in touch with me.

I called him on July 19, 2013 and again on July 29, 2013. On July 19, he stated that he would get in touch with me the next Monday. The provider did not respond then or to the voice mail message left him on July 29, 2013. I am going to use another provider for the small job that I have or do it myself.

My daughter, visiting at the time, contacted Mark to replace the ballast on a ceiling light in the kitchen. We supplied the number of the ballast required, which was a replacement for the ballast that came with the original installation. He said he would procure that model and call back. After waiting two weeks I called to see what the delay might be. After leaving three phone messages asking him to call I have had no response.

Dear [member name removed]; I actually have been working finding a vendor to supply a ballast for your "Circline" lamp. The part number I was given by your daughter was not the correct item for circular fluorescent lamps. If that is what you have in your fixture, then someone put the wrong one in by mistake. After a couple of rounds of "can you get this" inquiries, two vendors of four contacted offered to special order something that would work for you at a cost of $46.00 each. unfortunately, their minimum order amount is $100.00 so it seems that we would need to order 2 or more of these or some combination of the one needed and some other kinds of ballast to make the $100.00. A third vendor has not responded yet but I will plan to call them again tomorrow and then contact you later in the evening.

Our experience with Mark couldn't have been better. He's technically excellent, very professional, and easy to work with. This was not an easy job due to the remoteness of the location and the nature of the terrain. Mark planned the job very well so that as few trips as possible had to be made to the site.
Description of Work: Wired new building and ran wires through conduit underground to existing cabin's electricity. Installed indoor and outdoor fixtures and inside and outside receptacles. Put switch in existing building to turn outside flood lights remotely. Installed built-in electric heater. Installed wiring to attach to existing security system in existing building. The amount spent includes work, transportation, and materials.

If the inquiry was through the MTE website, then I do not recall any request by anyone named Member. I do see a lot of spam, phishing, and virus laden e-mail trapped in a professional filter so it is possible that a message may have been inadvertently overlooked for suspicions of danger, either imagined or real. In any case, I offer heartfelt apology for any misunderstanding and would be eager to work hard to redeem myself if offered the opportunity to do so. Mark initially provided estimates for matters that popped up in our home inspection. To our benefit, he found a very serious code violation that the inspector missed. Once we closed on the house, Mark and his team came to fix the problems. He and his crew are professional, thorough and do quality work. Not only did he repair the matter of the code violation, but we had them do some tricky wiring for a flat screen TV. We did not trust that the cable installers could, or would, do a good job on this wiring request so Mark got the job and did not disappoint. It's exactly what we requested. He's now our go-to for electrical work.

It went as well as could be expected, although he clearly prioritizes his schedule for his larger clients. I was satisfied with the work and with his staff. They were very knowledgeable and investigated and solved my electrical problems. However, I will not hire this company again because during the second time I hired them, the owner came out to do the job himself and spent most his time on the phone. To the best of my knowledge, I was billed for this time. Prior to this, I was happy with the gentleman (who was not the owner) but he was unavailable to do the work that day.

I think the day referred to in this review may have been Friday September 17th, 2010. This day was a planned day off for our company but I elected to go to work at this customer's house as a favor in order to complete some work in one room so that they could move their entertainment equipment in that weekend. I do remember receiving cell phone calls which I tried to finish as quickly as possible. I was using a Bluetooth earpiece while continuing to work so that I could complete the tasks intended as quickly as possible and be on my way for my customer to get their moving done. Looking back at the invoices submitted to the customer, I see that he was not billed for the Two hours I spent at his house on the Friday I have in memory. Eventually, the customer had spent a lot of money with us so I gave some concessions on the billing for other days when I worked at this house with the rest of the crew, but my time was not fully billed for. In any case, I offer heartfelt apology for any misunderstanding and would be eager to work hard to redeem myself if offered the opportunity to do so. I would be willing to offer a 10% discount with a value of up to $100 on a future opportunity.

This is the 2nd time I've used these guys, and it just doesn't get any better. They arrived perfectly on time, and got right to work. They were courteous, responsive, conscientious, and quick. One by one the completed the jobs, and, went the extra mile to fix and ensure that everything was correct before they left. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and not would, but WILL, call them again if I need further work.
Description of Work: I had several small jobs (install three light fixtures and replace 2 light switches), and one significant job (replace a bathroom LHE: light, heater, exhaust, which required entering the attic crawl-space and fitting the box to the rafters and modifying the ceiling footprint).
