 + -1 moreFor the initial consultation Mr. Varela arrived on time. He took time to listen to the whole story about my roof and the failed attempts to fix a leak I had going directly into my kitchen. The main priority was established to fix the leak in the roof before anymore damage was done. Later the metal roof was installed and I am very pleased with my new roof! Mr. Varela and his crew are all very professional and very courteous. The workers always asked permission to access areas where this was a gate and when finished you couldn't find a scrap anywhere. No detail was ignored as far as dealing with everything on the roof such as antennas and my swamp cooler. Very well done! Thank you so much Fort Selden Roofing! I will definitely recommend their services without a doubt.

I guess the best compliment I've had in a while came from my neighbor who chose Fort Seldon Roofing based on my recommendation and told me how satisfied he was with the entire experience. He said he paid a little more for his energy efficient TPO roof than ordinary roofs from competing roofers but he knows the investment will pay off for years.

Description of Work: I hired Ft Selden to repair a few small leaks in a 2 yr old roof and some cracks in stucco. They did a FANTASTIC job! This was in '06. THEN I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE after the OCT '15 hail storm. I asked my insurance carrier to send out one of their PREFERRED PROVIDERS, knowing they "USED" to stand behind them. They sent out TALLENT ROOFING who has done nothing but being very UNprofessional, took 6 months to come to my home the first time and then put on a PATCHED roof when their estimate was to REMOVE and REPLACE. Summer rains came in '16 with tons of water intrusion through PATCHED roof and hail damaged parapet walls. Water intrusion down and into the framing causing the Elastomeric stucco to crack, blister, bubble, as well as water intrusion into the interior of my home causing blisters, bubbles on interior paint, cracks in walls and much more. They were DENIED a passing bldg code by the City Inspector in Sep '16 (11 months AFTER the hail storm) because water still coming into my guest bathroom vent and found I had a LAYOVER, not a REMOVE and REPLACE. Finally, they rec'd a passing bldg code AFTER 13 1/2 months from hail storm. A few weeks later I find BLACK TOXIC MOLD in a built in bench seat, my original contractor never put a seat on as designed. I have used this as a toy box for grandchildren. Hired KLEANFORCE ENVIRONMENTAL (EXCELLENT SERVICE, PROFESSIONAL, HONEST COMPANY, I HIGHLY RECOMMENT). The owner did the mold testing which is sent off to a BIOLAB for results which came in as the worst TOXIC MOLD. My insurance carrier and TALLENT ROOFING placed the blame on a bad window above the toy box and NO COVERAGE. i had to get rid of the TOXIC BLACK MOLD and hired KLEANFORCE to do the REMEDIATION vs my insurance carriers Preferred Provider in this area. KLEANFORCE found the TOXIC BLACK MOLD was coming from under a scupper that had been leaking since the hail storm, one of the only ones I never checked on. I had only 1 of 7 scupper/canalies worlking since TALLENT ROOFING "PATCHED" my roof djuring all the summmer rains from '16. Even after they rec'd a passing bldg code on the roof I had water intrusion in the same place, plus a pocket light over the tub. How could that have happened? TALLENT Roofing uses a lot of SILICONE to "fix" leaks, bad spots, very UNskilled labor and they have NOT stood behind all the damages they caused by waiting 6 months to PATCH my roof. NOW FOR WONDERFUL FORT SELDEN ROOFING....I called them in July '16 after my roof was PATCHED and lots of interior damages to see if they would just "look" at the interior damages. Esteban Renteria came out, he not only looked at all the interior damages up to that point, he volunteered to go up on my roof to inspect it. He took 5 photos of the ATROCIOUS job done by TALLENT ROOFING. Esteban Renteria started to explain to me the problems, mentioned to me the SOFT SPOTS he walked on while on top of my roof which would ROT, plus a lot of words I did not understand. I asked him to write down what he was telling me, a female, 70 yrs old, disabled 18 yrs and living alone. What he mentioned in short, was I WOULD have a LOT OF PROBLEMS if the roof was NOT REMOVED and REPLACED properly, water intrusion causing very bad problems. He didn't mention the word TOXIC BLACK MOLD but trying to WARN ME. I SOOOO WISH I HAD GONE WITH FORT SELDEN to START WITH 15 MONTHS (1 YR AND 3 MONTHS) AGO vs going with my insurance carriers PREFERRED PROVIDER "TALLENT ROOFING" who had some nice workers but the MOST RUDE, DISHONEST, UNETHICAL co-owner ? Victor SUNNY Rodriguez, The owner, is NOT returning my e-mails and will NOT stand behind his 5 yr WORKMANSHIP warranty. I find he is also, UNETHICAL, DISHONEST and CERTAINLY WOULD NEVER GIVE A GOOD RECOMMENDATION TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO HIRE TALLENT ROOFING with the owner, Kenneth Tallent out of McKinney, TX. IF YOU NEED A NEW ROOF OR JUST A REPAIR ON YOUR ROOF, DON'T TRUST, CALL ANYONE BUT FORT SELDEN ROOFING. THERE IS NO BETTER and Thank You to Esteban Renteria for not even charging me to give me a "heads up" on the damages that DID HAPPEN and at NO COST.  + -1 moreI scheduled the work and a couple of weeks before the start date one of my tenants has a personal issue and asked me to postpone the work. I called up they company and they were more than willing to change the schedule. They showed up and completed the job in 2 days with all new vent caps, two roof jacks for the coolers, and drip edge and it came out perfect. They kept a clean worksite and left the place very nice. I have hired them in the past and will definitely hire them in the near future (I just noticed a small leak in my garage). You will not be disappointed with this company!!

Many of my neighbors also hired Fort Selden and everyone of them ( and us ) were / are totally satisfied with the work, professionalism, and super fast installation of the new roofing. We ( and my neighbors ) all choose to have T.P.O. Roofing installed instead of the existing rolled roofing. Fort Selden did an excellent job, gave a 10 year warranty and even gave us a 15% Senior Discount ! I can't say enough good things about Fort Selden Roofing, they are by far the very best roofing company in our area ( Las Cruces NM ). They totally stand behind the work, do the job super fast, and top quality work and materials . If you are considering have any roofing done Please do yourself a favor and contact Fort Selden before signing a contract with any other company, I'm sure you will be glad you did !  + -1 moreA rep came out looked inside house and didn't spot any inside leaks or brown spots and went outside to look on the roof, I told him to ring doorbell when he was done. I showed the rep the brown staining in the garage and he looked and confirmed there are leaks. I stood in the garage as soon as he went on the roof and heard him answer a call and talk to the person for at least half the time he was on my roof. I may not be a roofer but when you're inspecting a roof, should you be having a conversation on a cell phone? Completely unprofessional representation of Fort Selden Roofing. I mentioned and he saw that I have an attic(pitched roof) that goes over the whole house. He didn't even look in the attic, and I even asked when he was done on the roof, "DO you need need to look in attic"? He replied, "NO." Fort Selden is not thorough when inspecting your roof, it is common sense to go up into the attic area to look for visible water stains or daylight coming through when there is a known leak. I haven't even received their estimate and have already crossed them off my list of reliable and trustworthy companies for roofing! I am actually shocked at the lack on inspection by this worker for this company. I had another company who inspected after him and diagnosed other areas that need repair but can wait a few years and ACTUALLY went up into the attic to look at the pipe that leaked. Very bad service from this company and the person even missed inspecting the front overhangs and eves where there is a major leak diagnosed from another company that is leaking through my garage walls. Will never recommend! They had money to advertise on a billboard, but don't trust them to ACTUALLY inspect your roof!

 + -1 moreThis is our 2nd roof on this house done by Ft. Selden. The first roof (built-up - hot mopped, rolled roofing) was installed in 1999 and lasted well beyond life expectancy. The new roof installed as a result of the summer 2015 hail storm. Because of the widespread hail damage in town, Ft. Selden had a work backlog of several months. Office staff were pleasant, helpful, and responsive during signing on for work and job start. Prior to work start and at my request, they made 1 trip to seal loose roofing in advance of a rain storm to avoid further damage to the house. Once they began, they worked diligently; even working extra hours in 100 degree heat to get the roof relatively sealed due to the threat of rain. Work was completed in 3 days. Quality of materials and attention to detail was outstanding. They installed the roofing underneath the A/C condenser with out damaging it. They left the roof and yard.
Description of Work: Installation of 0.6 mil TPO roofing over existing hail damaged built-up roofing (flat roof), replacement of 2 skylights, and 5 canales.

I had other roofing companies giving me estimates, but they did not seem credible; too many " ifs or but's". They would never give me a concrete professional answer, and would not guarantee my roof would not leak again! I no longer have to worry about my roof again for as long as i own my home.  + -1 morePart of the house was covered with a "flat" roof and part was pitched and covered in shingles. This occurred at a time when many homes were getting roofs replaced because of widespread hail damage in town. When Ft. Selden was able to schedule my reroofing, they brought a good-sized team of workers. They removed the damaged roofing and replaced it (both flat and shingled). They worked from 8:00 to 5:00 and finished within a few days. The workers were courteous and cleaned up the workplace before leaving.

They even did some extra work -- applied elastomeric coating to a flat roof on the garage and storage unit at no charge -- because that wasn't part of the original estimate. Very nice, professional, friendly. Cleaned up ALL the mess from removing the old roof. (Unlike many contractors who leave a considerable mess behind!)
