Charged me for 24 hours of labor, but only one man who did all the work, total of 10 hour total

TC Canyon's home repair business is pretty basic, and does not do particularly high quality repair. I would describe the final quality level of my project as a B- at best. Additionally, their contracts are kept relatively vague up front, which makes it difficult to make sure everyone understands what work will be done. My home has several vigas or beams which extend out beyond the wall and roof-line of the house. As can happen with these, rot had gotten into them due to poor maintenance by previous owners. I was referred to TC Canyon by Angi due to their expertise with Framing Repairs. The salesperson who did the initial quote for work on my house did a poor job. He sized components incorrectly, and underbid the labor. He also included other work that did not end up needing to be done. Worst of all, his explanations of what was going to be done turned out to be completely incorrect. Once the actual workers started to do the job, they ran into road blocks. I will give TC Canyon credit, the final bill did not go over the initial estimate. However, the actual work completed was not everything listed on the invoice either. Essentially, I ultimately had to pay for their screw up in bidding the work. Honestly, all of this would be "typical contractor stuff" if the final product was of great quality. However, it was not. The workers on site admitted they had never done anything like this before. They were friendly and professional, but they were out of their depth. They used Sawzalls to cut 6x12 beams that clearly needed a portable band saw, and simply attached the new beam ends using long structural screws instead of using a joint which would maintain the strength of the beam. The joining method is acceptable, given that the ends of the beams are considered decorative rather than structural, but a better joint is just good craftsmanship. Worst of all, the new beam ends aren't even attached flush with the old beams, so there is an obvious angle to the new beam ends relative to what they are attached to. The saw-work can only best be described as "wonky." If the goal of a good home repair is to make it look like part of the house, this repair failed across the board. I will happily admit that they took on a challenging project. The last time this repair was done on my home, it was even lower quality, which the salesperson noted. This project really called for a scaffolding, and specialized tools, but I hired them because their salesperson said they could do it. I will also say that their crew was knowledgeable and friendly, but if this was outside their area of expertise, they should not have taken the work. I will not be using TC Canyon in the future.

Everyone that I dealt with were very polite, addressed me by name, were enthusiastic, and came ready to work. The subcontractors that came out were also polite and worked clean. The draft person, whose name escapes me, drew up a very beautiful set of plans and coordinated it to the house. I’d like to make a special mention to Jay, who would speak with me at the end of the day on what was accomplished, what to expect, if I had any questions, and would take the time to explain in lay persons terms. Tom, the owner, runs a top notch business. I plan on hiring TC Canyon again for more home improvement projects and highly recommend them. They earned my trust.

I can not even extend to you my disappointment with the work done by this crew. First caution: GET A WRITTEN CONTRACT! Demo of the existing deck revealed missing bridging between joists. I asked that this be corrected. This after listening to Bobby moan about actually having to install the bridging. Next day, Tom, the owner calls and wants another $1000 to cut and install 38 linear feet of bridging. 8 2x6 showed up for this purpose, accompanied by the owners select lumber. Bridging was 90% installed and redecking began. After the first day, approximately 20-25% of the owners select lumber is installed. At this point I am satisfied. The next day, a pile of studs are delivered, the installed select wood removed and TAKEN FROM MY PROPERTY! This has now escalated into just plain theft of purchased merchandise, and the progress on my deck slow to a crawl while I'm inside driving a laptop, earning the money to pay for this A****** to install a pile of studs instead. So, here I am $2000 bucks in the hole, for a 6 39; x 36 39; area of warped stud wood deck. Again, get a written contract. Additionally, ABSOLUTELY NO CLEAN UP was done, throughout this fiasco. I fired them 90% because of Bobby and his flippant attitude, and he is a thief. The other two workers actually worked. Bobby smoked and flicked his butts on the ground most of the time. He was 'the nail or screwgun guy. Other workers made the cuts, he just screwed em down. My neighbor across the street has photos of them carrying off the select deck wood, so this is undeniable. I won't work with thieves. ADIVSE YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE!

The crew was fantastic! They built the patio cover in a couple of days. They were professional. They listened to any concerns we had and took care of the problem. We would recommend them to everyone! Bill & Diana Riley

The staff was polite and courteous; the owner responsive and efficient. They did a nice job painting a weathered pergola.

Tom arrived on time to examine the project. A detailed estimate was in my email by that evening. This was very fast. I approved the estimate, and workers arrived on-time June 16. Workers were very polite and very efficient. Tom made a suggestion for a design change ( this was a repair -rebuild project). As it turns out, the design change was a marked improvement over the original. Cleanup was good and workers thanked me several times for giving them the project. Overall excellent experience, and I'm very satisfied with the result.

Once the awning was received the work was completed within a few hours. You should be aware that delays in delivery are to be expected during the pandemic. This is no reflection on TC Canyon or the quality of their work

TC Canyon waited patiently while my permit got approved, showed up on time, got the job done RIGHT, AND did a GREAT JOB!! Highly recommend :)

A great company to work with. Ethical, professional and completely competent. Staff is courteous and easy to work with. Owner is closely involved with the job and keeps the customer up to date at all times. Crew shows up right when they say they would. Work done just like we wanted it and on-time. Thorough clean-up when the job was finished. The new pergola is beautiful. I would hire this company again without hesitation.
