Five K'S Plumbing

We have a 1970s house that has had a lot of re-modelling done on it, not all of competent. The gas furnaces were replaced about 5 years ago, and the swamp coolers ripped out and replaced with refrigerated air, but some of the ductwork wasn't handled properly, was loose and leaking, wasn't insulated, and not properly done to begin with, so the back half of the house was getting any air: it was hot in summer, cold in winter. And a lot of the air from heat and AC was just blowing into the crawlspace. Keith evaluated the ductwork, recommended a course of action, and gave us a competitive quote for the work. He started work in mid-February, ripping out, replacing, and in some places re-routing the ductwork. He and his crew were easy to talk to and explained things well, showed up when they said they would, and were generally considerate and cheerful. Beyond just the work they were contracted to do, they hauled out the old furnaces that had been left under the house, along with a lot of other bizarre stuff that various workmen had left over the years, and they hauled it all off for us. So now when we have to go under the house, it is easy (well, easier) and we don't have to crawl over and around a lot of junk. They finished on time, no problems. We had Keith out again a few weeks ago to look at an external AC compressor unit after a stucco contractor covered the fan with a catwalk and stuccoed shut the condensation drain hose; the unit had shut down completely and we were afraid it was a total loss and would have to be replaced. Keith was able to come the day after we called. He opened the housing and found the failsafe reset for the compressor, and showed us where it was so we could reset it ourselves if it happened again. The little pump for the condensation runoff was burned out from having its drainage plugged up tho, and had to be replaced. Keith had it done in less than an hour.

After buying a new house I had the above list of issues that needed addressing. Keith handled these issues quickly and inexpensively. I originally made the appointment for the water heater work however the garbage disposal died the night before the appointment and that was handled as well. The difficulty with the removal of the solar water heater was that the previous owner had drained the water heater and allowed it to sit and rust out. Even though the water heater was rusting and falling apart it was removed without any mess.
