CABINETS SOUTHWEST INC

We have mixed feelings about the kitchen remodel. CSW gave us a great price on hickory shaker-style cabinets, formica countertops and installation. They were a good $5,000 below big box store prices, and we liked the idea of using someone local. The remodeling process was a long one. It took about a month to get all the cabinets in after realizing the initial carpenter person mismeasured our kitchen. They had to send at least 6 cabinets back to the workshop to either remake or cut them down due to the mistake. We ordered the cabinets with a natural finish, but it failed more than a few times under normal kitchen conditions. We kept getting water spotting on the cabinets near the sink and prep areas. We're hoping the last coat of finish they put on will hold up. Several of the cabinets made the trip back to the workshop at least 5 times within a year and a half. CSW was good about sticking with us on trying to get the finish right. I would recommend them with some reservations. I would suggest ordering a cabinet wood and finish that they know will hold up well. The carpenters, installers, secretaries, and plant manager were always friendly and willing to listen to our requests. They did pretty well on being at the house when they said they would be there.
