Paint the Town

I had a tight schedule, which Kevin and Kerry met very well. Before starting to paint, they had to clean and do basic patching of holes, etc., which they did well. Because I was using bold colors, a few coats had to be applied. They coordinated the timing between rooms to accomplish this -- well organized. When bold colors joined a corners, they did an excellent job keeping a straight line. Of course, with any project, there unexpected things come up, which we discussed and I usually went with their suggestions, since they made the most sense. In most cases, these adjustments did not effect the original estimate. But when it was necessary, they continued to be reasonable in their pricing, which I felt from the get go. I had gotten a few other estimates that were going to take longer and cost more but I felt Kevin and Kerry could do what they said, and they did. It's a year later, and everything still looks great. Highly, highly recommend Kevin and Kerry.

Kerry and Kevin arrived on time and got right to work prepping. Kerry was very helpful with our color selection and by the time she arrived back with the paint color we selected, Kevin had the furniture moved, tarped off and the room taped out. They were incredibly efficient, careful and pleasant to be around. They were more like fun house guests rather than hired hands. We would definitely hire them again! In fact, we already have.

I highly recommend Kevin & Kerry! They are responsive, responsible, and provide quality professional painting services. We were very impressed with their prepping - they were very careful with our artwork and furniture and did extra preparations when needed. Kerry has a keen eye for color and was very helpful in making paint choices that gave our home the “pop” I was looking for....in addition they are both interesting & friendly people!

Kevin and Kerry gave us great advice about what colors would work to sell the house without losing too much character. We had very bright walls (orange and purple) that they covered with a lighter, neutral shade very well. The quality of the job was excellent. They were punctual, professional, and courteous. I really don't know how they painted all of that space so well in the time that they did it and with a flawless clean up.

Super, best painters in New Mexico.

I?ve been a homeowner in Santa Fe for over twenty years, and have hired a number of different painting contractors to work on my home. Unfortunately, my experience with these painters has been disappointing and when I decided to have the exterior of my house painted this spring, I turned to Angie?s List to see what other companies were working in the area. Number one among the painters listed was Paint the Town, with fifteen outstanding reviews and nary a negative comment. I hired Paint the Town for my job, but my experience was so different from that of all these other reviewers I felt compelled to write this critique. Paint the Town is a husband and wife team; they have no other employees. They are very pleasant people but they are the least professional painters I have ever had the misfortune to hire. I probably should have known better than to hire them when I found out they did not carry any insurance because no responsible contractor works without insurance. Their failure to provide a written contract was another red flag. It?s important to have the scope of the work clearly stated, as I learned as the project progressed. No insurance, no real contract, everything they did was half-a****. The bulk of the work in the painting of the exterior of my house is in painting over twenty french doors. Many of the doors had some cracking in the wood which required filling with putty. Paint the Town applied filler to the cracks but only did a cursory job of sanding the putty, leaving a raised, uneven surface. I ended up sanding the filler, adding more filler, and then doing a final sanding before I considered the job completed and the surface ready for painting. Yes, I was doing this myself, because Paint the Town thought their half-a**** job was adequate. A proper contract could have clarified what constituted a properly prepared surface for painting. Their failure to properly prep the doors simply shows low standards of workmanship. Some of their other failures demonstrate a sheer lack of professionalism. I had to tell them that they needed to open the doors to paint the entire surface of the door, they had done much of the work with the doors closed. When an exterior door is closed, the edge of the door is covered by weather stripping. You have to open the door to paint the exterior surface. Again, they were doing a half-a**** job. They did not wash and wipe down the surfaces of the doors and windows before painting, which left debris in the painted surface. They did not seem to have any drop cloths. How can you work as a professional painter without drop cloths? As a result, there were (and still are) excessive amounts of paint dripped and spilled on my tile and flagstone. Finally, I have to mention the doors they painted that were left with the bumpiest, most irregular surface I have ever seen in a paint job. I think they must have been painted with a roller that had dried paint on it. The craziest thing is, they were ok with it like that. I had to insist that the doors be sanded and a fresh coat of paint applied. Other problems included painting my double-hung windows so the windows were stuck open. This was done on a Friday and they came back the following Tuesday. There was a storm on that Friday night, and I had to go out in the rain with a putty knife to break the paint bead between the window and the frame so I could close the windows. Similarly, the weatherstripping around the doors were painted into the door frames (I had told them I was replacing the weatherstripping, so they didn't have to mask it), and when I removed the weatherstripping in certain areas some paint pulled off the frame. I had to insist that they touch up the places where bare wood had been exposed, and when I did they became belligerent. There's more, but I think I've written enough for now. I want to point out that I actually hired these people for my job because of the great reviews on Angie?s List, even though they hadn't come in with the lowest bid. They weren?t even the lowest bid, but I still hired them. That's why I felt compelled to write this review, to add another perspective on the job performance of Paint the Town. Caveat emptor.

I would not use anyone else to paint my house or rental property. I have used Paint the Town for interior and exterior work. Their work is A+. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and have used many different painting contractors. Paint the Town is by far the best company I have ever hired.

Kevin and Kerry came to our home at the appointed time to assess the project and provided a clear, concise estimate and time frame for the project. The ceiling of our large patio had water damage marks and uneven stain throughout. Kevin power washed the ceiling, prepared and cleaned the surface that was water damaged and re-stained the ceiling and supporting structures. They helped us select the correct stain for the project. Kevin is meticulous in his work, neat, and cleans up perfectly. We are very happy with the results and will definitely ask Paint the Town to do other projects for us as needed.

After coming to my home to give me an estimate for the work I was requesting, they said they were going to consult with their paint supplier on what they needed to do to match the stain? Well here we are 6/1/15 and I have not heard from them. If they are professional painters I think they should know what needed to be done, or at least call and let me know they can't do the job?

They were terrific and we'd use them again if we were in the area.

Kerr & Kevin were the most professional contract workers I have used in Santa Fe. They gave an accurate estimate and did the work in a timely fashion. The work was excellently done and the clean up was impeccable.

Kerry and crew were prompt, great, and tidy with their project. Every day they left my house in good order.

They were pretty good. They were excellent. They were very good, and very professional. They came when they were supposed to, they did us a good job, and they cleaned up after themselves very well. Overall, I will give them a B. Quality is the reason that I am giving them a B because there were some places where they did not finish to pain.

This is the second time we have had Kevin and Kerry do extensive interior and exterior painting, staining, sealing, and power washing at our home and we **could not be more pleased** with the quality of their work or the ease of working with them!! They are very friendly, timely, knowledgeable, and extremely trustworthy and honest. The work areas are always very neat during, and at the conclusion of, the projects. Kerry also has a keen eye for color and was very helpful in selecting colors, which saved me the anxiety of choosing colors on my own, or the expense of a decorator. We were new to the area, chose them from Angie's List, and truly feel that we have unearthed two wonderful gems. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful painting experience!

Paint the Town, showed up as agreed and began the job and were on the job each day until it was finished. They went above and beyond the original scope and were very professional and thorough. They spent the time to do things right and did not rush while at the same time keeping to the original schedule. They cleaned up after themselves and I have had others use their service. I would use them again and would recommend them to all.

Arrived on time, pressure washed surfaces, sanded areas, patched, matched paint color perfectly. They cleaned up everyday. The project took about 3 days! Amazing work!

I could not overstate our appreciation for the excellent work by Kevin and Kerry of Paint the Town! Highly recommend! This was the second time they painted an interior room for us. Once several years ago and once recently, our house was damaged (different causes, different rooms). Each time we needed painters, we requested bids from several companies on Angie's List. Each time, Paint the Town offered the best price and quickest response. Also, we choose them because we knew what a fine job they had done for us before. They carefully moved furnishings away from the work areas and replaced items when the paint was dry. They were careful to leave the areas clean to reduce disruption during and after the job was done. The job this time took parts of two days. The quality of their work was most important, but their pleasant company was a bonus. Nice people.

They did an excellent job painting the interior of the house. They were on time, estimate was the total cost and finished a day early. Completely satisfied with their work.

They were very pleasant to deal with & have around. They were prompt for the appointment to see the work & provide an estimate. They were also very prompt in providing the service. They made one mistake (painted the slides for the upper windows), but came back and corrected the mistake immediately when called. I would happily have them paint at my house again.

I like the fact that they are very punctual and very competent. They do a good job. The quality of their work is just very good. They clean up after themselves since they make a little mess. They also helped in sorting out paint colors. Their price is not dramatically cheap. They are going to do another project for me. They are very effective and very good.

My inital call into p aint the town was returned promptly and followed up with an on site estimate. The work began on a Monday and ended that Tuesday. Monday I was able to comfortably live in the area being painted as they so carefully put my essentials back in place and their's neatly away. They were thoughtful and organized, quick and thorough, professional and personable. I totally trusted them in my home, with my pets, and cannot wait to have them back for another project.
