The builder came to view the area to be enclosed, was explained to that it was to be kept simple. Two weeks later we were given his plan on paper with no quote. Two weeks after that, we received a bill for $150/hour for 4 hours plus tax to equal $630 and all we received was a very rough drawing with no quote as to what the cost would be to enclose the carport. We were very shocked as there was never a billing rate mentioned or that there would be a charge for his estimate or basic plans.

the overall experience was poor, the construction was hampered from the start with a multitude of mishaps , mistakes and cornercuttings.the overall building process was poorly supervised by our architect and builder, derald polston . ground was broken before a construction loan was in place, requiring hasty renegotiation. the concrete floor which was supposed to be a polished concrete floor with a flawless finish (for which we were charged additional money for a thicker slab ) turned out to be full of cracks because it was poured by an inexperienced, unsupervised crew. we needed the evaluation of a civil engineer to convince the builder that he was at fault and had to provide an alternative flooring. we choose engineered hardwood flooring which was provided by our builder. later on the hardwood flooring cracked as it was poorly choosen and wrongly installed by our builder. at this point we did not live in the house any longer but had problems selling it due to the poor quality of construction. letters from our attorney to the builder were not returned . over the course of three years we encountered a multitude of defects(leaking roof, leaking windows, failing septic system, malfunctioning electrical system,wrongly installed plumbing..) which we had to repair ourselves as our bulder did not feel any longer responsible. we were able to sell our house in 2012 after we rectified a multitude of problems at our cost. we feel that poston construction inc does a fine job at planning and architectural detail but should stay away from actually building houses.
