This is by far the worst experience I've ever had and we paid them $17,000 to do a horrible job. I would never use this company for anything. We hired them to install 22 windows in our home. They very carefully measured our windows and when the windows came in 5 of them were not the correct size but they installed them anyways. All of the windows leaked and caused severe damage to the inside of our home. In addition, they did a terrible job with the installation. They damaged the stucco on the outside of the house and their solution was to patch the stucco and its obvious that they had to patch what they damaged during the installation. We called them several times to fix what they had damaged and they would only respond after several calls. They only sent out one worker to look at the inside of the windows and all that worker did was put some plaster on the water damaged walls and then he told us that we would have to sand and paint it. They have never fixed the damage they caused and they have never correctly installed our windows. We had to re-caulk all of the windows because we have extensive water damage on the inside of our home and it looks horrible. We have continued to call and email them to fix their "guaranteed" work but they do not respond to us anymore. They have never honored their warranty or guarantee that they promised us when we signed the paperwork. We are still paying off the loan for the windows and we will have to get another loan to pay someone to come in an re-do all of the windows. Until then we are stuck with the outside stucco damage and inside water damage around our windows. Not only are the walls in our home damaged but the windows themselves have water damage on them. The windows we purchased were supposed to last more then a year but we have evidence of the damage after 1 year to our home and the windows.
Description of Work: We paid The Window Connection $17,000 to replace 22 windows in our home. We interviewed 4 different window companies and the Window Connection gave us the lowest quote. At the time they were promising that they were professional and just as good as the more expensive companies.

toI was remodeling a house and wanted to replace the windows. I ordered Milgard windows from Gym (yes, that's the spelling) Champion at The Window Connection. The windows arrived, but only a few were actually what was ordered. The others were the wrong size or the wrong glass. I tried for about 6 months to get Mr. Champion to complete the job. Periodically, he would call and schedule an installation, but each time the windows were either the wrong type or the wrong size. In addition, the installers seemed to not be regular employees, but just some contract labor he hired. Every time someone came it was a different installer. I finally finished the remodel but still had no windows, so I decided to go to another Milgard dealer. The new dealer, Enchantment Windows, placed my order and had it delivered and installed in about 2 weeks. Mr. Champion finally agreed that he was unable to complete the job, and so the contract we had was never completely paid, but I lost money because I had made partial payment up front and that payment ended up being more than the cost of the windows that were actually installed. It has taken me a while to submit this report because I was so angry and frustrated. I would never do business with The Window Connection or Mr. Champion again.

We've never been as disappointed in a purchase as we have been with ours from Window Connection. We chose to disregard some Better Business Bureau negative reports because the price quoted by Window Connection was about half that of the highest bid we'd received from other companies. To have Mr. Champion twice tell us, verbally, that he'd honor his warranty, and then turn around and, in writing, deny such a warranty exists is particularly disappointing. The old adage that you get what you pay for is certainly true, especially as borne out by our experience with Window Connection and its owner, Jim Champion.
Description of Work: My wife and I had two 6 x 5 foot, double pane, insulated glass windows installed by Window Connection. When delivered, it was discovered that both glass units had been mismeasured by Window Connection--both were too small. Since the old windows had already been removed, we had no choice but to accept a window frame modification, which was to add a one-inch quarter-round molding nailed to inside of the window sill/frame. Two weeks after the glass units were installed, workers returned to finish the installation--it was completed on June 30, 2010. One of the two windows cracked on the inside pane in early March, 2011. Our contract with Window Connection and signed by Mr. Champion, specifies a "one-year glass and labor warranty". Owner Jim Champion committed to replacing the cracked window when my wife and I visited him at his San Mateo office on March 7--I asked that he do so at his earliest convenience. At that time, I also gave him a photocopy of our contract and a photograph of the cracked window. On June 7, 2011, I telephoned Mr. Champion to ask when an installer would be sent to measure the cracked window so that it could be ordered/installed. He said he'd contact his installer, Jose, and would then phone me back to let me know when an appointment to measure could be set up--he never called back. A letter to Mr. Champion, dated June 13, 2011, was sent by us requesting, in writing, a statement from Mr. Chamption as to whether he intended to honor his warranty, and, if so, by what date would the window measurements be taken and a replacement window installed. A letter to us from Mr. Champion, dated June 20, 2011, states, in part: ". . there is no warranty on glass breakage with an IG {insulated glass} unit (glass only)."
