The folks from Waterwise were friendly, professional and went above and beyond what we had asked. I met with Hunter to discuss my landscaping needs and my ideas. We worked collaboratively to create a design that I love! He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He even brought pictures of the various plants I might want to consider?very helpful since I am new to xeriscaping and high desert landscaping. I was consulted about every change that needed to be made due to plant availability. The crew worked diligently over the 4+ days and cleaned up thoroughly before they finished. I definitely recommend Hunter and his crew?I am thrilled with their work!

They were very prompt and very professional. I like that they were eco friendly. I guess I just wasn't expecting to pay so much for the work to be done.

Hunter was very thoughtful and professional. He listened to our ideas for what we wanted to do with the yard, and he made many helpful suggestions for the types of trees, shrubs and plants to be included in the design, showing us photos on his laptop. Unfortunately, we were not able to proceed with landscaping at the time. But, we feel strongly that we would like Hunter to do the project in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

He was very helpful and listened to all of our inputs and choices. He recommended how to set the yard up and where to put the plants and then we made minor changes. We searched the plant album of the many plants he had used or seen before. We selected the plants, tree, and shrubs to best decorate the yard. We also discussed the best plants to endure extreme temperatures and lack of water. He was very good about suggesting several choices to give us a well developed yard and color changes with the seasons.

Hunter was very professional and is very knowledgeable. He showed me many different options for landscaping and created a beautiful plan.

Irene and Alex showed up on time as scheduled. They were just wonderful. Great attention to detail. Front yard looks fantastic. The second increment will be on Sept 4, 2013. I can hardly wait. My yard has never looked so good. So far every thing on the landscape drawing was placed as shown. I had Irene and Alex do some extra trimming of a smoke bush and the extra cost was minimal and they did a great job on that too.

Hunter at water wise showed me lots of photos of plants and I even went over to look at other gardens he had done. I liked his sense of design and the variety of texture he uses. His crew was on time and friendly. Back yard: First we had to remove 2 60 year old Cottonwood trees from the backyard. Their centers were rotted out. Hunter designed and simple but very effective replacement of trees and plants. It turns out you can't plant trees in the same place that the removed trees grew. However, I like this arrangement better. The yard looks bigger. The tree removal people that Hunter recommended was Eric's Trees. They were great too. They cleaned up everything. The plants are growing well and I just need a few replaced. It might not be the time of year to plant them. Side yard: Removed the grass and planted trees and low watering plants . Plus Hunter designed the mulch, grave and plants that would not be damaged by my dogs. It looks much better and is easy to maintain. Front yard: This took some time. First, the grass had to be killed. This took a few applications to kill the roots. This is worth it. I did not want to be pulling grass after the new planting were put in. Hunter designed the space with different texture, colors and consideration for the time of year the plants would bloom. He used mulch, steeping stones and rocks to create a beautiful front yard that uses much less water. My house was built in 1952 and the watering system was old but the great crew were finally able to get the drip working. While it looks great right now. I hope it will look even better next year.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon from them. It is still in kind of progress. I have recommended him and he is doing work for somebody else. I bought the Big Deal and I literally heard from him almost immediately like the same day. He was very responsive.

They were okay. They responded and came. They did a reasonably good job. They had to try a couple of times but they got the work done.

The company was responsive and took care of exactly what we needed for the back yard. The cost was reasonable for what was done and in fact have asked them to come back and do another project. They were on time and I did not need to be home to get the job done. We are very pleased with our yard.

It went very well. Hunter was professional, courteous and prompt. He listened carefully to our requests and presented us with several options for landscaping, it turned out, not just one but two areas of our yard. He was very organized and had numerous plant options to show us. He then drew to scale a plan for these two areas of our garden. We are currently studying his cost estimates for completing the ideas he suggested.

I got more out of Hunter Ten Broeck's two hour visit, than I got out of another professional landscape designer who charge me $600 for a garden plan. ( That was about a year ago, and I only implemented a few of his suggestions.) Hunter has superior knowledge about southwest plants and his sense of aesthetic surpasses my previous consultant. As far as details, Hunter measured the existing area, drew up a plan, and recommended various plants. Obviously, a promotional visit such as the one we arranged, is to generate further engagement, but I am on a limited budget, and I told Hunter that I had a teenager who could help me with the planting and a retired contractor, who could help "tweak" my current irrigation system. Hunter seemed perfectly OK with the fact that I wasn't going to need further services from Water Wise Landscaping. ON the other hand, Hunter's knowledge about plants and design is so good, that I would definitely use his company if a complex situation arose. I would also recommend, in fact, I have recommended, his company to other people.

We were quoted a price of $400 to install a fountain and received a bill for $850. The owner of the company did not tell us that the job would cost more than the quote, which was something that was promised in writing on the estimate. When we spoke with the owner, he said we misinformed him of the parts we had for the fountain, and he assumed we had more of the parts than we did. He never verified to see what we did have. Although he did adjust the bill by $100, we felt the manner in which this incident was handled was inappropriate and the final price was much more than we wanted to pay for this project. Furthermore, it took over two weeks for someone from the company to call us to arrange installation. Their response time was poor and they never called us to let us know they were behind schedule. We have used this company for over 10 years, and due to this incident, we will not be using them in the future. Moreover, the fountain was not installed properly, resulting in water flowing down two of the four sides of the fountain. Even though they did come back to fix the problem, the problem was not fixed.

This was a major undertaking. Judith Phillips, author and xeric and native landscaping designer, produced a very appealing plan for our back yard in 2008, with a design narrative, detailed drawing, and plantings specification list. In early 2009, Hunter Ten Broeck of Waterwise faithfully executed this plan, and within a year all the new plantings were thriving nicely. A 3,000 sq ft grass lawn was shrunk to less than 1500 ft, flagstone walks and steps were installed, with mulches of crusher fines and coarse bark. A sophisticated and flexible drip watering system was installed, along with sprinklers for the remaining lawn. This major project went smoothly, with few delays, and on schedule at about four weeks completion. For the front yard, having got to know Hunter and his design capabilities, we worked directly with Waterwise for the design, which went just as smoothly, and is the cause of many compliments from passers-by and visitors. Both front and back landscaping are a continuing source of pleasure and satisfaction to us. One unanticipated pleasure has been that the grounds are interesting and beautiful to see right through the winter. Finally, this is a low-input, low-maintenance landscape system. It formerly took us over an hour to mow all the lawns. The remaining lawn may take ten minutes, at most.

I like their whole attitude; they are very good and competent. The people are very nice; they do a good job and know what they are doing. They are more expensive than some but they are excellent.

It was a fall clean up, so they did pruning. They also picked up the debris and leaves.

They team they sent arrived on time, reviewed our needs with us and set to work. They had all the parts and supplies with them to complete the job. They were very knowledgeable about drip systems, including what plants required how much water flow and how often to water them. Although the job turned out to be far more extensive than originally thought, they stayed until they were finished and had confirmed that we were satisfied with the results.

They were easy to deal and kept their time for their appointments. They were everything that you want for someone to be working on your yard. They were very nice.

I was very pleased with them. They did a good job. They were responsive and easy to work with. Also they were prompt and pleasant. The quality of work was great. They have come back for follow ups when I called. The price was reasonable and comparable. I would definitely recommend them. The owner comes out with designs and listens to what we want. He knows his business. He has been in business for a while. He advised me on what plants to have for this specific environment.

They have very good customer service. Their crews were professional and trustworthy. The plants are alive. My yard looks nice. The design is good and good informative.

I received excellent oral instructions followed by a concise written report. The advice was practical, specific for my conditions and desires to minimize the use of chemicals while also minimizing maintainance and water requirements. For financial reasons, I am doing most of the work myself. I was very pleased with the advice.

They were very professional, worked very hard, and cleaned up well after their job. All repairs are working well.
