The plaster was damaged. He matched the paint, patched the damage. You can not tell where the damage was. The job, about 2 sq ft, was completed in about two hours; patched, dried and painted. Very impressive. Excellent clean up of job site, my dining room. On a previous job, I needed a wallpaper repair, accidentally knocked a hole in the wall. Wall Wizards did the repair perfectly.
Description of Work: Patched and painted a leak in the ceiling.

We used this company once before to hang wallpaper and paint in the dining ares of the kichen. He did very good work so we called him again when we wanted to do more painting. He and his partner picked up the paint, arrived promptly at our house and began the paining. They also put quarter-round at the bottom of our cabinets before they painted. They did a beautiful job, were totally professional and did all the painting within a few days. They were friendly, easy to be around and cleaned everything up each day. I definitely would use this firm the next time I have painting to do.
Description of Work: He painted the kitchen, laundry room, 1/2 bath, living room and dining room.

I think they did a good job but it's been a long time. I was cleaning up after a major water spill and things like that, so I needed to have some paper redone on one wall in the dining room and this was all covered through insurance because of a break in a line. There was no way to match the wallpaper. It had been there a long time ago, and so I had it removed. I can't remember if they painted it, or someone else, but they took the paper off.
Description of Work: Took off the paper, and maybe they painted. I can't remember if someone else painted.

He used some sort of chemical that he mixed at my kitchen sink. After he left, there was only a musty, dusty odor which dissipated in about half an hour. (This might not have been the chemical, of course. The room itself is being completely redone mainly because the carpet is old and dusty. The wallpaper was very old and probably generated some dust when it was stripped off.) The work itself went very well. Mark is professional, knowledgeable and efficient. There is a one hour minimum, I believe, so he charged me that and not much more. I thought his charge for the work was a fair price. He knows he will be hanging my wallpaper. (It's backordered until July.) Above and beyond the job at hand, he had me look up the dimensions of the wallpaper rolls I have on backorder; he measured my room; and, he discovered that I had underordered by approximately half. I'm horrified, naturally, but better to know it now and, if I just replace my wallpaper every 20 years or so, this is no time to be cheap. This was a painful moment, but I thought this was a very professional thing to do.
Description of Work: With less than two weeks' lead time, Mark managed to get me onto his schedule to strip the wallpaper out of my study before my new carpeting goes in next week. Now the messiest job is out of the way. In the small room, Mark took a little over an hour to strip out the old wallpaper and take the baseboard off.

Wallpaper that we purchased is high end designer wallpaper, so we wanted to make sure we got someone professional to do it. They came in and did a good job, especially on the dining room wall. However, the side wall next to the fireplace mantle was left unfinished. One part was rounded off and another was not rounded off, so it looks inconsistent. When we called and told them about it, Mark came back out and said that the way it was finished is and quot;industry standardand quot; and that you're not supposed to and quot;round offand quot; the side of the wall because traffic might make it peel off. He then wanted to charge me another $75 to round the side off, which I thought was ridiculous. The reality is, they shouldn't have rounded off the top part of it. When I told him that, he lied to my face and said that and quot;your wife specifically asked for thatand quot;. She did not and I know my wife is not a liar. I played along with him anyway and I told him and quot;you guys are the experts, and you were willing to tell her that you won't round off one side, so why didn't you tell her that it would look messed up to round off the top IF SHE DID SAY THAT?and quot; He didn't know what to say. He then said and quot;I can cut off the rounded part up top so it looks better, no chargeand quot;. I told him forget about it because I'm not sure if the paint under there is done (we had painters paint around where the wallpaper would be earlier) and I didn't want to bother. In the end, my wife and I were fine with the job they had done and the parts they got right look great, I just REALLY got frustrated that I was being so willingly lied to and that they were willing to charge me for something they messed up on. And that's after already paying $800! Very unprofessional in the end and they ruined the overall good job they had done with that.

Mark first removed all the wallpaper. The walls were a mess since there never was texture coat over the dry wall. There was now two layers of wallpaper glue. Mark removed as much as he could and then he applied an orange peel texture coat. This required a tremendous amount of masking and plastic since orange peel is a spray-on technique. After my husband did the painting, Mark and John came back and re-hung the very heavy (4'x9') mirror. This took three separate visits and they were very accommodating of my schedule.
Description of Work: I have a rather large, divided bathroom. Sink area is about 7'x9'. Toilet and tub area is about 7'x8'. Mark removed the wallpaper throughout and prepped it for painting.

The work took 4-5 hours and looks beautiful. I am very happy and will use Mark again. He was professional and careful, and he kept things clean.
Description of Work: I removed old wallpaper.and baseboard, and ordered new paper with assistance of Sherwin Williams to determine quantity (spot on). Mark hung paper in 3 rooms--a difficult high/sloped ceilinged living room with a cutout wall where it joins the dining room; a large bedroom wall; and laundry room decorative trim. He needed to do a little surface prep before hanging. The living room and bedroom had repeating-pattern paper requiring alignment, and the trim pattern needed to match up .

Mark Swanson came out and immediately wrote us an estimate. A few days later I called him to schedule the job. Because of my travel schedule we decided on an installation date that was six weeks later. When I got back into town I made a couple of phone calls and sent Mark an email. He was out for the weekend but returned my call on Tuesday morning to confirm our scheduled installation date the next week. He and a helper showed up on time, got right to work, cleaned up after they were done and were always polite. I was thrilled with the finished job. It really is as perfect as you can possibly get. This was not an easy job and I am just tickled pink with the outcome.
Description of Work: I have a double split level living area (living room, dining room, entry). We decided to put grasscloth on the ceiling. The area to be papered ranges in heights from 9 to 16 feet and is very large. We also have large ceiling beams that are crossways on the ceiling and had to be papered around. The grasscloth must match at the seams or it will look like a patchwork quilt. We also had a small powder room with bullnose at the door molding. We used two kinds of wallpaper in the powder room.

Mark of Wall Wizards was friendly and responsive. He knows his business and was very good to talk to about the problems.
Description of Work: Responded to request for information in a short time frame. Set up initial meeting for the next morning. Came in and gave reasonable estimate of time to repair/reaseal 20 year old wallpaper in 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. Followed up after initial meeting to set an appointment to do the work 2 days later. Work was done as promised with excellent results.

Mark was pleasant and professional from start to finish. His estimate came in at about two thirds that of another contractor I had interviewed, and he did a great job. I recommend him wholeheartedly, and would not hesitate to use him again.

They were punctual, gave a fair estimate and stuck to the estimate. In one room, wallpaper border had been plastered to the wall with an adhesive not meant for wallpaper. Wall Wizards took care of that without damaging the walls. All work was done in less than a day and they cleaned up afterwards. I would recommend.
