Before looking at the AC unit, he asked its age. I said I didn't know for sure, but fairly old. He told me the importance of a new, energy efficient unit. Then looked at the unit, said it had a leak that would cost 1500 to fix and again recommended a new unit. From the onset, I felt a sales pitch coming and it proved to be true. Now I have to get a second opinion because I don't trust what I was told.

Jose pulled out the refrigerator and checked the lines copper tubing okay but plastic line at back of refrigerator was cut. He unplugged the wires to the icemaker so that I could still use the refrigerator/freezer and advised me to call an appliance repair service to fix the icemaker which I did. He was fast, professional and helpful.

Mauricio and the two electricians who helped with the electrical were polite, effecient and knew what they were doing. We were pleased with their work. The company was prompt in sending the help we needed.

I owe Wagner Mechanical a profound and sincere apology. I was contacted by the general manager to discuss my previous review and this gave me a chance to refresh my memory of this past encounter. I was in error--the discussion about installing cabinets and reconfiguring our kitchen space did NOT take place with Wagner but rather with another provider I had hired--an electrician I engaged around that time. I regret my error--not a minor error- and I wish to apologize to Wagner Mechanical and to Angie's List members who depend upon accurate and timely reviews.
Description of Work: I responded to a post card offering of water heater maintenance visit for $37. The workman arrived at the appointed time, inspected the water heater and told me he could not do the service because (in part) the drainage faucet was plastic and would likely break. The water heater was about 3 yrs. old and recently upgraded by the installers of our refrigerated air/heating system in Dec.,2013. I accepted this assessment with some doubt and some disappointment. As it happened I used my old favorite plumbers to maintain the water heater recently and the drainage faucet functioned as it should have.

See above. All went well and the AC actually is more quiet and doesn't seem to run as long as it had been. Hot water heater is also in good shape.
Description of Work: Came to do AC summer check up. Unit needed cleaning badly & a part needed serious cleaning. David did the work & also told me told me that I was using the wrong type of filters. He was very patient with all of my questions. He even went & got me a year's worth of the correct filters, installing two. // A month ago TJ came to drain my hot water heater. He was also very knowledgeable and personable, and was very patient with my questions for him. All in all, I've been very happy with both representatives of Wagner Mechanical.

I purchased my new A/C - Furnace from Wagner 9/22/2010 with a 5 year warranty. I also have a Gold service contract which provides same day, 24 hour service. When the temperature of my house went up to 82 degrees, I called for service. On 6/23/2015 the first person who came out, Jesus Telles, after looking at only the A/C unit next to the house, determined that the Furnace which is under the house needed a new control board. He left and Wagner called asking if they could come out the following morning at 8:30. I said yes. A little later I realized I had a possible conflict and called back to say I had to leave by 12. I asked if that would be okay and was told no - and that the next available appt. time was the following Wednesday - 9 days later. I asked if they had anything sooner and was told NO. So I waited through the hot days with my house temperature getting up to 80+ every day. 9 days later Brandon Repichowski came out to replace the control board. It only took about 40 minutes and he left saying everything was working fine. When I returned home that evening, my house temperature was up to 84. I called Wagner after hours and was asked if I wanted someone to come out that evening - I said yes. About 30 minutes later Chad Redford from Wagner came out. He spent about an hour and determined that the thermostat was faulty and replaced it. When the unit still was not working properly he found that the condensate pump was not working. He did not have one with him, but said someone would be out to replace it the following day. Chad was very thorough, looking both the A/C next to the house and going under the house to check the furnace and condensate pump. Brandon returned at noon the next day, replaced the pump, stayed to make sure the A/C stayed on and then went on his way. I have every hope that this time it is truly fixed. If the first serviceman had gone under the house, he might have found the real problem and saved me a lot of perspiration and frustration. In their favor, there was never any question about the product still being under warranty. I was not billed for any of the above.

Chico & Fabian showed up early this morning, and completed the job well in advance of the hourly estimate. I was originally told it would take all day to install the heater, but they were done by 2:15pm. Throughout, they were both very friendly and professional. Chico took time to explain how to use and program the new thermostat, programming it with me while he explained.The paperwork was minimal and he made sure I was familiar with the filter, shut-off valve ,etc. Overall, a good experience.

Terribly. Provider stopped communication when I requested a written proposal with pricing from salesperson.
Description of Work: Wagner sent salesperson to look at job and calculate load for central air conditioning.. a new condenser to run with my Carrier furnace. Salesperson (who was very friendly and somewhat technical) spent approximately 2 hours in my home, taking measurements and looking over existing furnace and electric system while taking pictures for the tech folks. 3 days later salesperson emailed me the load calculation based on the measurement and then called to see if he could come back to my home to meet and go over options. I asked him to please email me a proposal so I could go over it and prepare questions. I told him that I was back at work (I had been off the previous week when he came to check out my home) and that I did not have time to meet. Also it was important to me to review exactly what was being proposed on paper. I then emailed him thanking him for his offer to come out and again requesting a written proposal with pricing. Communication stopped. I never heard from the salesperson or company again. I called Anderson Air Corp and started the process over and I now have air-conditioning. See my review for them.

After reading the review and the problem, Wagner's management took a personal interest in the complaint and an apology was given and a manager personally came to the house to verify everything and he did rectify the situation. Kudos for Wagner's management for stepping up to the plate! This is about the third time Wagner has done this: The plumber comes to do the job of flushing out the tank and as I leave him to it, I get a knock on the door that he can't because of the corrosion around the valves. He tells me that the valves are frozen and he is afraid if he tries to turn them they will break. So he gives me an estimate of $575 to replace the valves and bring plumbing up to code. I thank him and tell him I will decide what to do. I immediately call another plumbing service and had them come out to do the flush. I said nothing about having Wagner out and what they said. The other company came out on time, flushed out the water heater, said everything was fine and gave me a bill. I then told the man about what we were told by Wagner and he showed me that what they said was corrosion was actually what plumbers call "plumbers goop" and that the valves were working fine and with little effort as he proceeded to turn them in from of me with one finger! I cancelled my monthly "membership" of $17 and will no longer use them for our plumbing/heating services. Nobody likes to be duped. It is unfortunate that they have done this before to us and I let it go to keep up a warranty but it isn't worth it.

They were really good. They've been out since then to fix the furnace. The cost was kind of high, but I got a lot of work done. They installed all the latest stuff. I have no water problems anymore.
Description of Work: I had a pipe that leaked that caused a lot of damage. They fixed the plumbing and leak. They also gave me a flood prevention plan. They also helped me with my water heater, bringing it up to code. They fixed all the pipes by the toilet and the sinks. The fixed the connection behind the dishwasher and the refrigerator. They also rerouted the laundry section. I got all new fixtures. They replaced all the rotten copper and put in new stuff.

The plumber was on time, hooked his hose to the tank drain, and opened the valve. The water came out very slowly, so he tapped on the valve a few times which broke loose the deposits clogging the valve. The water then flowed as it should with just a little bit of sediment coming out, and flowing down into the street. After a minute or so, he shut the valve off, saying that he had cleaned out the tank. He then checked underneath the tank with a camera, showing me some potential problems (a little rust underneath) in the future, but couldn't say how long the tank would last. I think I bought the tank in 2002. I then mentioned there was a drip coming out of the pressure valve line outside every 20 or 30 seconds, and how much he would charge to replace the valve. I was told they don't replace these valves because they've had problems replacing the original in older tanks. He then told me he would install a new 40 gallon water heater for $2100+, and that next year the price of gas water heaters was going up by 25% because of a new requirement replacing pilot lights. The one I have I bought and had installed for less than $700, and looking through ads in Angie's monthly newsletter, I really think I can find one installed for a lot less. I paid him the amount Wagner had advertised for the flush, $38 + tax, and he did a good job.

It is true that we no longer replace temperature and pressure safety valves on older water heaters because of the inherent problems with removing a safety valve that has been installed before code changes went into effect. All of our water heater installations include complete installation and free haul away of old water heater, required plumbing permit and inspection, updating all current code requirements which include earth quake straps, safety valve relocation to get proper drainage, expansion tank and all new valves and fittings with a 5 year parts and labor, 10 year tank guarantee.
