When confirmed, refused to confirm the time, only a "window" for the service to be done requiring the commitment for the full morning to wait, with no promises. Person who originally scheduled with pleasant, person who responded was not. Canceled the job and went with another plumber willing to meet our requirements.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience. We are able to schedule an exact time as the first call of the day, usually 8:30 am. after that all calls are scheduled on a 2 hour window many companies do this on a 4 hour window to allow the technician time to finish the previous job and travel to the next. Sometimes it takes longer to finish the previous job and we are not able to arrive exactly on the hour and you should have been called. It sounds like that did not happen although the tech would have arrived in 10:00 am - 12:00 window. We have retrained our dispatch staff to give each customer a call or text, as they wish to update them on the techs arrival. They arrived on time and did the routine service on the furnace and refrigerated air so everything is ready for the next six months. I have a service contract which is $18.00 a month and includes two visits for year and maintenance. works out well and I actually save a little money. Wagner calls when it is time to schedule this service. I would recommend them overall. LW

The technician who visited your home was injured in an industrial accident the following day, and he admittedly did not follow up with you. This should have been handled differently. As for the failure on the repair, we warranty/guarantee all of our repairs and in the occasional case of a failure or error it is not only our policy to come back and do the work free of charge, but it is part of what makes us who we are as a company. We are not the average joe who will leave you hung out to dry. We wish you had given us a chance to do this for you and still would like to make things right by at least refunding your money if you won't allow us to properly repair your toilet. We would like to point out that we did contact you via Angie's List messenger a couple of weeks ago to make sure that you were satisfied with our work, and asked you to contact us if there were any unresolved issues so that we could take care of them. Since you've posted this review we have attempted to contact you several times, you did finally get back to us this week and you would not allow us to come back out. Jeff was courteous and professional. He took his time and did a thorough job, explaining what he was doing and also making suggestions on some issues we've had. It went great. They were prompt and extremely friendly. They did not charge us for anything unnecessary and only made suggestions on upgrades that we may want in the future. He fixed the toilet that we could not get to stop running and was overflowing from the tank. And he did not charge us any extra than the deal on Angie's List! We will definitely call Wagner if we have any plumbing problems in the future.

The guy who showed up said that it would cost about $250 for the repair. He did not have the right equipment to get the job done efficiently. He has to return on the following day to complete the task. He said the bill was now $750. He explained that in the past he had undercharged customer and had gone bankrupt. The company refused to honor the $250 commitment. We paid to avoid a lien.
Description of Work: Wagner Mechanical fixed a leak in our water supply leak. They had fixed it one year and a day before and refused to make good on the repair.

We are so sorry that this happened to you back in 2009 and can assure you that so much about our company has changed in the last 5 years including much of our staff and management. One thing that we have learned is that when we give estimates, they are just that, estimates. Once we start doing the work there are sometime additional things that we find that may need to be done; however, we would never complete the work without the customer being aware of the price ahead of time and have given us the "go ahead." This was admittedly not right and we do not currently operate this way. We hope that you will consider using our company again in the future. I'm sure we could work out some sort of credit for the way things were handled in the past!

Beware! Always get a second opinion. The service person from Wagner checked the unit which included taking lots of pictures of supposedly defective parts to show me. Just one thing specific. He gave me a quote of $505.00 to clean the evap. coil. The next company that I had come to give me a second opinion said I should think about cleaning the coil in the spring before the cooling season and that it should cost about $45.!! The first company said my unit was in serious need of repair and the "Comfort Counselor" who came to talk to me about it later gave me an estimate of $3,417.32 to repair the unit and $8,500 to replace it. The second company said the unit was fine and that I should get several more years service out of it. As I said in the beginning: BEWARE!

We use them all the time, and they are very good. I think they are a little pricey, but the work that they do is excellent. I used them last week. I am signed up on one of their program, and so I pay so much every month for their services. They are always very fast, I call them, and they come out the next day.

10/22/2013 Update: Wagner did call back on Monday and came out the next morning first thing. Scott, their General Manager, and another technician seemed very concerned about my review in Angie's list, and were very apologetic about our prior experience. (see below) He and the technician replaced an older pin valve free of charge that had contributed to the leak in the swamp unit. That replacement required turning off the water to the house at the street. Before doing so he explained to me that if the water couldn't be shut off they would have to wait on the city before installing the new valve. Regardless they would complete the original work to my satisfaction. They installed the new cooler cover and removed the copper tubing. I was so impressed with Scott's professionalism and genuine concern about Wagner's reputation that I asked him to give me a quote on a new A/C unit. He explained what the process would be, with an older home what additional upgrades would need to be made to our electrical panel and other modifications that would be required to add the unit to our duct system. I am very pleased with the extra effort they put in to make sure I was happy and appreciate that Scott came out personally and didn't just call me on the phone. Also, they were both very understanding and nice about our vocal and excitable beagle who greeted them with enthusiasm. 10/19/2013 My husband could not get on the roof to verify they did the work. From the ground I could see the cover seemed to be ripped. They did not mention that to my husband after they put it on. Did they rip it and not want to say anything? I don't know. Then we got the big wind and it was obviously not secured as we could hear it ripping apart. Kept me up all night banging around. Clearly the cover needed to be replaced. I went up on the roof to measure what size to get. I discovered the cover had not been put on correctly in the first place and had indeed shredded in the wind. Then I noticed the copper tubing had not been disconnected, so I checked inside the unit and there was moisture underneath the fill tube. It was unplugged from the electricity, I will give them that. Then I checked the water shut off and it was not turned off on the roof, I went ahead and shut it off. I then went down to check to see if they had shut it off on the inside of the house and it was, still enough was getting through to drip into the cooler pan. When they turned on the heater in the same visit they told my husband the odd sized filter needed to be replaced. They didn't offer to replace it, just left that up to us. The filter has to be purchased from a wholesaler because it is not a standard type you can buy at a big box store. My husband has contacted them to come and correct the work. We purchased another cover and straps for them to put on when they come. One of us will have to take off work to be here, again.
Description of Work: We have the silver plan and we only have them out twice a year to change out heating and A/C. My husband called for swamp cooler shut down and heater startup with unacceptable results the first time. On the second visit they performed extremely well and very professionally. In addition the General Manager came out to make sure everything was satisfactory and I am very confident if we have any questions or concerns he will be right there to take care of them. I would recommend Wagner and will continue to use them in the future.

The representative was on time, polite, professional and courteous. He took lots of notes and pictures. I requested a quote to replce an existing 50-gallon hot water heater and 150,000 BTU conventional gas-fired boiler with a new, high-effficiency tankless unit. I never heard back. Thinking that they may have lost my contact info (phone failure, computer failure ... give them thebenefit of the doubt) I called them after about 10 days. I got voice mail, so I left a detailed message with my contact info. While it's possible that they were too busy for the job or they just didn't need the work, the courtsey of a communication would have been appreciated. I never heard anything more. Someone else got the high four-figure job.

I called Wagner Mechanical at 8:00 AM. A tech showed up at 9:00 AM and provided a quote for repairs. A sales person showed up at 11:00 and quoted a price for a new air conditioner. The new air conditioner was installed by 2:00 PM that same day. They were quick and professional. Other contractors wouldn't even send a tech out the same day. I would have spent the weekend without air conditioning. Wagner is a little pricey but worth every penny.

They're horrible! He came out and told us all kinds of things and ended up not really being true, because we want another plumber. And then, he wrote up estimate, but I never did get it. I called there, and he was supposed to drop it off in a mail box. However, he never did. It was ridiculous! Finally, we just stopped working with him.

Not good. Told me that it needed a new compressor to the of $1500 plus labor. The AC is only 3.5 yrs old. They said maybe it had been stuck by lightening. I called another AC company in town. They looked at it and confirm that it needed a new compress AND a new motor but both were still under warranty. When Wagner came out I was told "someone" would get back to me that afternoon. Three days later I had still not heard back from "someone" but they had ordered the part without my OK. Wagner had never said anything about the warranty. Turns out that it was still under warranty but it expires and the end of the year. Apparently they installed a unit that had been sitting at their warehouse for awhile and had lost a year on the warranty when they installed it. They also said that York didn't make my unit anymore, another reason that they had to replace it with a different part. Interesting - York didn't make the compress but the ordered (the same) York compressor. I know that becauseI had call Wagner to get them to release the hold one the part so AC company I hired to do the work could pick it up. I will NEVER recommend Wagner Mechanical to anyone. They LIE.

The experience was not good. They didn't know what they were doing. I got an estimate from them. I am a mechanical engineer and I know a little bit about heating & a/c. The man they sent out, I don't think he had horns around. I did some calculation and it came out to 5 tons; but he told me I needed only 4 tons and he was dead wrong. He had no technical knowledge about it. I don't think his price was competitive. I got bid from 5 different contractors.

The estimator (Tony) was polite and knowledgeable about heating and air conditioning. He explained the work to be done and the product choices. He made at least three visits to answer questions and review our options. The work was scheduled promptly and performed according to schedule. Everyone showed up on time. The work was well done and performs as anticipated. Warranties are excellent. Tony also provided a two-year service agreement for seasonal change-over.

Wagner Mechanical installed some Units for us in February. After a problem with the Units when we tried to use the A/C feature, (June 1, 2013) Wagner Mechanical Systems thoroughly examined the Units and the problem was located. There was a defective Compressor, which is actually quite rare for these Units, and it was quickly replaced. The Mitsubishi Mini-Split systems are reliable Worldwide and a wonderful alternative to Heating/AC when your house has insufficient ducting, or a Flat-style Roof. All is working properly now and I highly commend Wagner Mechanical Systems for their attention to this and the manner in which they responded. I would/will recommend Wagner Mechanical Systems to friends and anyone considering an alternative Heating and AC system for their home. I'm so glad the old Swamp Cooler is gone !

Wagner Mechanical had installed a top of the line heating and cooling system the summer of 2012.The installation took one week. We had teams of plumbers, electrical and roof work. All of them did an excellent job. Friendly, professional, took time to answer our questions and were reliable. We had questions after the installation. They were available 24/7, In early 2013 we decided to install the whole house water filter. We set up an appointment with Wagner. Marcus was the installer. He did a professional and thorough job. He was also personable. Both of us work long hours, so having flexibility with Wagner's schedule helped. They do need notice to plan jobs that are complex. Julie was also our go-to person. She also was available and helpful. Always called us back in a timely manner. We are planning on using them again.

We have the "Silver Club" contract with Wagner and they come twice a year to service our furnace and refrigerated air conditioner. They took over for another company we were with that went out of business and honored the contract we had with the other company. They have taken good care of us and we will stay with them. They also gave us the option of paying monthly instead of a one time payment which saves us some money as well as the convenience of not paying a large sum immediately. They also call and let us know when the services are due. The service man is very thorough and professional..
Description of Work: We have the "Silver Club" contract with Wagner and pay $17.12 a month for servicing our furnace and refrigerated air conditioner. They also replaced a part in our air conditioner that was under warranty from from the company they took over.
