Repair not finished on time. Many calls to try to retrieve the chair. Initially, the chair looked great, however, since it's been home--and it's in a well protected place with not many 'sitters' on it--one rocker is coming off, a spring has broken through the bottom, and bottom material has completely come off from front of rocking chair bottom.
Description of Work: Fix leg on antique rocking chair, fix springs, upholster seat, repair nicks and scratches.

I never got a call for the estimate so I called them back a week or so later. They had the estimate. It seemed quite high, but I said that if the chair was back to "good as new" I would like them to do the work. It took a few weeks, but when I went in to pick up the chair, I noticed several places that hadn't been repaired. A very nice worker tagged all those places and agreed with me that for the price I was paying, I should want it to be completely repaired. I left the chair there and later got a call from the owner saying that she didn't realize I wanted the chair completely repaired! Who takes something in for repair with that kind of expectation? I told her that I had agreed on the high price expecting all to be fixed. She mumbled something about the guy charging more to do more repairs, but called a week later to say it was done. When I got the chair home and took a closer look, I discovered that two loose pieces of rattan on one arm of the chair had been broken off instead of fixed!! I assume they didn't even send it back to the repair person. I was too fed up to return and argue with someone who doesn't want to do a complete job for her customers. This is a sentimental chair that has been in my family and I wouldn't entrust it to her again (even though I felt her employees were very nice and responsive). I will certainly look elsewhere to have a large wing chair reupholstered.
Description of Work: I had an approx. 45-year-old rattan porch chair that needed repair involving replacing a few places where part of the wood slats had broken off, reconnecting joints and re-wrapping joints with rattan. It was in very reasonable shape for its age, but needed a few rattan pieces replaced and general strengthening of the overall structure. I spoke with a very nice gentleman when I dropped off the chair explaining that I was interested in having the chair completely strengthened and repaired. He said that they had an outside affiliate that does that kind of work and that he would call me with an estimate for the work as soon as the other guy had seen the chair.
