TLC Plumbing Heating Cooling Electrical

After joining Angie's List very early in the morning, I looked at the list of plumbers and decided to phone TLC Plumbing. I phoned them at 7:00 a.m., and someone came at about 8:50. Now that's what I call prompt service. The man who came was friendly and pleasant. I do need to replace the toilet, but I will buy one and have them install it.

Jerod arrived around appointed time. Discussed unfamiliarity with very old thermostat/controller but proceeded to turn on water, remove cover and damper and test unit. Gave feedback on pad and potential thermostat upgrades. Offered to help with missing furnace/cooler diversion plate. System is now working fine.

Toilet was repaired the same day I called. Don the plumber was efficient, friendly and professional. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

Did an excellent job. We are very satisfied. They gave us a 10% deduction on the bill when we mentioned Angies List.

They (2 workers) were friendly & helpful. They told us the hum we initially heard indicated that the pump was jammed or obstructed, and if we had immediately unplugged it, we could have prevented it from burning out. They suggested putting an alarm on it to avoid it happening in the future, but we decided not to do that (it would cost a extra few hundred dollars, and we can hear the hum). Diagnosing the problem took less than 30 minutes. They gave my wife an estimate of $800. They returned about an hour later with new pump, and took about an hour to install & clean up. The bill was $1174 ($726 pump, $372 labor, plus tax) with no warranty. The total estimate did not get communicated well. They charged 5 hrs labor, hence charged labor for the hour spent getting the new pump; I don't know if that's SOP. When I checked the Web for sewer pump prices, they were generally much lower ($200-$400); I don't know why they used a $700+ unit. Overall, pleased with the work but not the cost.

I've always been pretty happy with everything that they've done. I thought they went beyond what they needed to do for me. I would use them again for future service.

It went quite well, overall. I feel that all other avenues were eliminated prior to having to perform a more expensive alternative. I am very pleased with the service, as well as the price. I plan on continuing to use TLC in the future.

Price for the project was in expected range and not particularly greater or lower than others. The estimate and installation were both done by the same person (Bodie Vinyard), who listened to my concern about changing/cleaning the air filter and came up with the solution mentioned above. He also presented and explained the differences between furnace models in terms of efficiency, operation, and noise (the furnace closet adjoins our living area). Work was done as scheduled, he showed up when expected and worked in a clean and professional manner -- including cleaning up afterwards.

They were prompt and the quality of the work was awesome.

The plumber came at the appointed time, worked efficiently and was willing to problem-solve the situation.

Horrible! Company did not permit the job with local building officials. After permit was issued, at my request, building inspectors found the installation to have serious violations that could have resulted in carbon monoxide being released in the home and failed to install the proper schedule vent pipe. When I started the Air Conditioning unit I found they failed install the condensing line into a drain and it drained into my attic space damaging my newly installed drywall ceiling and walls. Terrible!

The guy was awesome and let me follow him all around, asking lots of questions. Very professional and polite. Also came same day as called.

This is my second time using TLC (the other experience was also quite good) and we are very pleased with their work. We purchased a new washer/dryer set and the installation company that originally showed up did not want to do the work (another review for the appliance sales section). We called TLC in the evening (after 8 PM) and got an answering service (really--extremely professional). We received a call the next morning about 7:45 AM asking if that morning between 8-10 AM would work for us. The technician called to let me know he was on his way by 8:30 and arrived about 8:45. He completed the work in a reasonable amount of time (about an hour) and was very pleasant. Another great experience with this company!

I called TLC while my husband was out of town because Im not electrically-minded when it comes to home repairs. We were headed out on vacation for 10 days and I didnt want to cook our pets while we were away; the house we bought did not have a thermostat for the swamp cooler. TLC was able to come out the next day and they called in the morning to confirm, and then called about 20 minutes before coming to confirm again. The young man who came was professional and polite; he installed the cooler thermostat in about 45 minutes and tested it to make sure it worked. He gave me a thorough explanation of how it worked before leaving.

They were polite, punctual, and relatively inexpensive. However, they nailed a support beam onto the roof to steady the HVAC unit. The nail punctured the beam, the roofing material and the roof with about 2 inches left over inside my attic, causing a leak in an adjacent den and eventually $5000 repairs in roofing and interior drywall.

Very good service. We called on a Sunday morning and the plumber arrived just a couple hours later. They came sooner than promised and on a Sunday! The guy was very pleasant and careful, including putting down tarps to protect our wood floors from the machine when he rolled it in. He also cleaned up the mess caused by the snaking process. The price seemed a little high, but on the other hand our drain was cleared by the middle of the day.

It has been working great ever since.

I was, and always have been, pleased with their responsiveness and punctuality. They arrive when they say and complete the job in a timely manner. They have always been polite and their work is always great. They also threw in a new water heater since we were spending so much. When you spend 10K in one day, you really want to know youre getting good service.

I called on a Monday, in late June and they scheduled me for a 4-hour window, the next day. The driver called me to give me 30 minutes notice, of his arrival. He spent 1-hour here. The first 45 minutes were used cleaning and preparing the cooler and connecting the water lines. He then let the units run for 10 minutes, before checking them again, to make sure there were no leaks or other problems. He noticed rust on both motors and a noise coming from one of them. He noted, that he could not warranty any of the work, due to the condition of the old coolers. He did allow me up on the roof to see the condition for myself. He also, freely gave me an estimate for the repairs/replacements, in case we were interested in fixing the situation. He explained some of my options and how those options would change the estimate, as well.

He could not work us in on Saturday so we suffered though a somewhat miserable hot evening and a somewhat less miserable night. He found the problem, plus another problem we did no know we had but that would have eventually burnt-out the fan motor. Since it was Sunday we had to pay time-and-a-half, starting from the minute he started driving to our place. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!
