The leak was fixed but only by soldering the heck out of the joint to the recirculating pump. The line was never drained as it should have been. There was so much heat applied to the joint that the recirculating pump subsequently failed a few days later and had to be replaced by another company. The TLC repairman took the easy way but not the correct way to repair the connection. I did not pursue any recourse with TLC because how could I prove anything; they would simply deny it was their fault. THE OWNER OF TLC PLUMBING CALLED AND WANTED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. HE OFFERED TO RETURN HALF OF WHAT WE PAID SINCE WE CERTAINLY DID NOT EXPECT WHAT SERVICE WE GOT. I DID NOT EXPECT THIS AT ALL AND I NOW BELIEVE THIS IS AN HONEST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. IT IS INDEED RARE THAT ANY COMPANY WOULD DO THIS AND I APPLAUD THEIR HONESTY.

Overall it was an excellent experience. The HVAC service man was punctual and courteous. He inspected the air conditioning unit and determined the problem quickly. He gave us the option of cleaning the coils or replacing the unit, and gave us an estimate for both. Since the difference between the 2 was only $300, and the unit was 15 years old we opted to replace it. Parts had to be ordered and he gave us an estimated date for installation. He called to confirmed the appointment. In addition to replacing the coil, he cleaned the furnace, and installed a new drainage tube. The original tube installation was poor so the service man offered to reroute it through the wall into the drain for the washing machine which is much better application.

Their estimate was a little more expensive than others. May be in part do to distance from their business to my home.

The flow from my bathroom sink faucet suddenly went down to a trickle last Saturday. Thinking it was related to the hot water circulation pump sensor connected to that sink (which I suspected had failed because I was no longer getting hot water quickly), I disconnected the sensor and hooked the hot and cold water lines directly to the faucet. The water still just trickled out of the faucet. I'm an average handyman, but it did not dawn on me at the time that something might simply be trapped in the faucet screen. So I called TLC. I must say, they were very prompt and came out within a couple of hours. The service man removed the screen and I immediately spotted the blockage. While he went out to his van to look for a replacement part, I cleaned the blockage myself and put the screen assembly back together. When he came back, he looked at it and reinstalled it. That was the extent of his service. He was in my house maybe 10 minutes tops. Here's what I object to: he charged my $152. He said that was the weekend rate, which I was not told over the phone when I called. Now is this common knowledge, that you get charged more on the weekend? Do you pay more at a restaurant on the weekend? Does lawn service cost more on a weekend? I feel I should have been informed of this when I called. I would have told them it could wait until Monday. Also, this is the third time I've used TLC. The service man sat in his van 15 minutes or more writing up the bill. I'm certain he took so long in order to extend the time to justify charging me what he did. He was literally in his van longer than he was in my house. I don't expect free service, but $152 to unscrew a faucet screen? TLC doesn't seem to care about customer loyalty, so I'll be finding another plumber in the future. UPDATE: The original grade was a C because of the exorbitant labor charge for the service provided. However, Tracy from TLC did call and offer to refund a portion of the charge, which I thought was very fair. I upgraded the grade to an overall B. While I thought they handled the situation well, the situation did exist in the first place. Whether I'll use them in the future is undetermined.

They have always been very good. I called them first thing this morning and they were here by noon to resolve the plumbing issues. I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs with them and they have always done a first rate job.

Excellent. Excavation work did not damage landscaping. Removal of old pump and well as well as replacement of new well and pump accomplished in one day. Cannot tell that the grounds were disturbed.

They were excellent. I liked the guy whom I worked with and his name is Tim. They were very responsive.

We were able to get an appointment right away and there was no extra charge for coming to Rio Rancho. Greg arrived right on time and called before he got here saying he was on his way. He was efficient and professional and we were very happy with the service call.

They are the most fabulous plumbing company you have ever seen in your life! Every worker is specialized for one thing and they only do that one job. They are wonderful! They are pleasant, clean and their uniforms are immaculate. The service is fantastic and they have great personalities. Their rates are very, very good.

Tim was the young man who came out. I don’t know if he had a lot of time to spend, but he didn’t need a lot to say what was needed and so forth. I was pleased to know that they would be also replacing the vents as well. The quote was $7800 plus tax. They are licensed and insured. I have two wall heaters that are old. So, I want to upgrade them for safety. It would probably be a much more efficient heater than what I have now. I wanted a different kind of cooler and I have a cooler which has started to rust. I am not interested in trying to get that refinished every year and it will rust again by the end of the season. That’s the defect of the manufacturer. So, I wanted to look at a different kind of cooler that wouldn’t rust. The quote process was quick and I had to reschedule within a week. So, Tim easily rescheduled and he answered my questions too. I don’t have anything to compare the price to.

Called on the weekend to clean out a clogged main sewer line. Took about 30 minutes to get a call back. I told the plumber that called that we did not have clean-outs in the front of the house, so he was going to have to go on the roof. He came out, dug around for clean-outs in the front of the yard, which he didn't find, then told me that he couldn't complete the job because he didn't have the necessary tools. Waste precious time on TLC trying to get our plumbing fixed as the clog happened right before a BBQ we had planned at our house. We ended up getting Roto-Rooter to come and clean the drain, which they did a quick and quality job, instead of the run-around I got from TLC.

On Thu 09 June 2011 we awakened to a wet floor, indicating a leak in the polybutylene pipes in our foundation slab. TLC Plumbing was recommended by several of our neighbors and friends. It has a good rating here at Angie's List, so we called them for help. One of TLC's licensed plumbers, Wesley H. arrived within a half hour of our call. He quickly assessed the problem and summarized the options, with estimates. Knowing the history of polybutylene in our area of Rio Rancho, we decided to re-pipe the house. We have had neighbors who decided to find and fix individual leaks in the slab, only to have more pipes break later. Wesley and his crew have had much experience with this in our area. The crew worked steadily all Thursday and by late afternoon Friday, the house was re-piped. AquaPEX was used in the re-piping, bypassing the slab, going up and through the attic. The new tubing/piping was triple insulated through the attic. Wesley and crew had to tunnel a new channel from the city's water valve to our foundation. That process consumed most of Friday. Had that not been needed, the project would have been completed early Friday. Our water heater was the original in our house, going back to 1985. We had TLC install a new water heater since so much was being done anyway. We were given a great price for the water heater and its installation. Following inspection and approval, TLC's subcontractor dry wall people came and repaired the walls. This crew also was very experienced, working quickly and with superb results. Both crews worked to minimize the mess from all this work, cleaning as they worked, and then cleaning after work. Some of our neighbors used plumbers other than TLC for either the find and fix repairs, or for re-piping their houses. Not one who used TLC has had any problems. Others have had to re-do the re-piping. TLC's plan for bypassing the slab in the re-piping allowed the project to be completed quickly and efficiently. While the cost was not cheap, the efficient and professional work was worth it. I especially appreciated Wesley's explanations throughout the project. It was nice to work with someone with knowledge and experience, who treats customers with courtesy and respect. All the crew members, both plumbing and dry wall were exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend TLC Plumbing.

When they came out, they recommended that we get a whole new unit. We called another company which had done work for us before and they fixed it for $700. I will not use them again in the future.

The shower pipe that comes out of the wall broke off. TLC was able to send someone out early the following day. He was prompt and very professional, explaining what he was doing as the work progressed. Although it was time consuming and difficult, the repairman was able to cut off the broken pipe, ascertain that the threads were still OK, and put in a new pipe without having to cut through the bedroom wall. He gave me advice on how to prevent this from happening again and how to solve a problem with a sticky bathtub knob. I was expecting a huge bill and was so pleased when I saw that it came in at around $100. I will definitely use this company again!

I was very pleased with the service, and their punctuality! We had water all over our lower level bathroom, and had no idea what was wrong. The plumber (who was not the one on call that day!) came to our house on his day off, and within 15 minutes had the problem fixed, a clogged main line. Thanks for such quick and professional service.

Technician was on time and performed all the requested tasks professionally. My wife said he was very courteous and kept her informed of what he was doing. Good experience.

They find the problem and fix it very quickly. Last time they were out I had them check a lamp. It had a short in it. He diagnosed the electric issue very quickly by checking things and just realized that it was the lamp. The representatives that have come out to my home have always been courteous and polite and get right to work. They are very efficient and have appreciated everything that they have helped me with. I also had them out to turn off my heat and get my A/C going.

He said that my water heater probably needed replacement. He gave me a rough estimate and it was a good bit of money. I want to get another estimate before I proceed. I have been satisfied with them. I have used them both for plumbing and for my furnace. The experience was quite satisfactory. We had an unusually cold snap this winter. I was one of a number of people that had frozen pipes. There were several days before they could get to me. I could understand it under the circumstances. When they did come, they were really quite competent. They have been competitive for the most part pricewise.

Overall, got charged the hour rate of $94.50 for 1/2 hour of work, was not charged at the end to take the old toilet away. I did not allow TLC to do $750 worth of work in my home as to another plumbing company was called in fixed the problem without having to ruin my new floor in the bathroom. I did get a letter off to TLC Plumbing Company the same date as listing this on your website. This could have gone a lot better and it is very sad, as my family and I have used this company for years. What surprised me was the rudeness of the tech and how it had to go to the level of calling the office in front of him, basically saying I never called. 4/6/11 came home to a message from Tracy Johnson left at 10:20 am to call him. My letter also supplied my work number which TLC did not call, I returned the call on 4/7/11 at 2:30 pm to the direct line of Tracy Johnson and never heard back from Tracy or TLC Plumbing.

Received a prompt telephone call saying that they could help if we wanted to find another company to perform tear-out and mitigate any mold present but that they did not do mold mitigation. I thanked them but said that I was looking for a company that would perform the entire job. They were honest and professional. I appreciate that and would contact them again. They are on my list for potential plumbing needs.

Amazingly fast and pleasant service. I called hoping I could get someone out this week and they were there in half an hour. Frank was very professional and helpful and thoroughly informed me of how to maintain the water heater. A very positive experience.

TLC Plumbing (Scott Day and his assistant/co-worker) came to our house to provide a quote for emergency repair of a collapsed drain line in our basement. They arrived at 5 PM the day we called them and were ready to start work immediately, if we wanted them to. We opted to wait until the next day for them to begin work (much lower cost, but still nice to have options). They arrived promptly the next day, began work and finished by about 4 PM that day. The work was quite unpleasant (collapsed sewer line) but they didn't complain at all, were very professional and courteous. Would definitely use them again.

They came when they said they would, and they did the work. That was it. They were here and they did their work. I would call them again. I don't really know what plumbers charge, so I don't know how to evaluate the price.

He did a really good job with the work. However, the guy who came also broke my sink. I wasn't too happy about that. He didn't handle it very well. I called the company and they were extremely responsive. I was very pleased with how the owner handled it. The guy who did the work blew it off, but they were very helpful. I ended up getting a refund, so I ended up spending nothing. The price was fine. If the management hadn't resolved the issue, I would have rated quality as an F.
