+ 0 moreThis was our first contact with TLC and it went very well. We called on a busy afternoon close to Christmas and they arrived when they said they would, after dark around four hours later. The technician Cliff Sena was pleasant, professional, and very neat and clean, taking care not to scratch our wood flooring. Not only did he clear up the problem, the drain actually works better than it ever has since we installed the laundry room. While the price was probably not low for a drain cleaning, I thought the overall value of the services provided easily worth an "A". We shall be using TLC again.
Description of Work: A drain connecting our kitchen and laundry room was cleared along with the pipeline from these rooms leading to the street.

+ 0 moreWe had called someone else earlier in the day. He came out and his machine broke and so he couldn't do the job. We then called TLC because it was highly rated on Angie's List. It was a Sunday and they were VERY busy but called back and made arrangements to come out. At 3 PM we were 7th on the list and I thought they would never get to the house on that day. However, just before 8 PM the TLC person arrived, and in the dark, got up on the roof and cleaned out the drain. He was friendly, courteous and good humored. The whole experience with this company was very positive and we will use them again.
Description of Work: We had a blocked drain and needed someone to get on the roof and unblock it. The blockage was approximately 40 feet into the pipe. TLC came out and unblocked it and cleaned out the pipes.

+ -1 moreThey do plumbing and heating work for us. We have had them out several times over the last 10 years. We have always been happy with their work and they are very polite people who come here. They are very professional and their work is very well done. The people they send out are extremely capable and they are very polite. They give you other advice and help. If you have a clogged drain they tell you what to do every month for it to get better. They give you additional information that you really didn’t ask for.
Description of Work: I used the services of TLC Plumbing Inc to redo the sprinklers in the front yard last year.

+ -1 moreOverall the job went very well. It was quite messy because of the nature of the problem and since we had had a major snow storm. We were able to stay in our home whiile the job was being done though. Very noisy because of jackhammers.
Description of Work: We had a hot water line leak in the slab of our home. We called TLC and they came out promptly. Scott and his crew worked for two and a half days locating and repairing the leak. It was a major job breaking up the slab. They worked from early morning until night to complete the job. They cleaned up all of the concrete and dirt that the job produced. They had someone call us to give an estimate on tile replacement and drywall repair. It was a lot of money for us, but worth it to have a reputable company do the job. Thanks TLC. Nancy

+ -1 moreOn 11/3/11 I wrote a negative report on Angie's List on my experience with TLC plumbing. To my surprise, Tracy of TLC called me the next day, concerned about the report and asking how they could make things right with me. Since I had already had the problem corrected, I didn't think there was anything they could do. However, Tracy listened, never argued with me, said I was right to have the feelings I did and to make the decision I did to get another company in. He then OFFERed to reimburse me for the other company's fee!!! I've never had such a positive follow-up to a negative experience. I sent a copy of the invoice and received a check within 2 business days. I might not go back to have work done, but this showed real integrity on the part of TLC. In this case, the customer was right, and they let me know it.
Description of Work: TLC followed up on a negative report I gave them on Angie's list on 11/3/11. The follow-up was the most courteous, satisfying response I've ever had. The company volunteered to reimburse me for what I had to spend with another company.

Description of Work: Main water line to house broke in front yard, early in the a.m. on Sunday, 10/23/11. Made emerg. call to city to shut off water to house (and got quick response). Later, made calls to three highly rated plumbing companies for emerg. repairs. Left messages at two, then TLC actually answered. In about 30 min., the repairman (Scott) called me to say he was on the way. He quickly excavated the break area under my xeriscaped yard, showed me the poor condition of the old galvanized pipe, recommended replacing the line (incl. est. of cost and time to repair), and tried a temp. fix. Either it would hold, and the house could have water until the next day; or it could mostly hold for awhile while I filled bathtub and containers. It leaked, so I filled tub and containers. While I did, he did a written estimate and told me he could do the full replacement in one day -- the next day. He and a partner arrived about 8:30 am, got right to work. They finished just before noon. The holes were filled, and the yard was replaced to essentially original condition. Truly amazing!! We would certainly use these guys again!

Description of Work: Our guest room shower had cold water only. The employee from TLC called before he came out, had me describe the problem and tell him what brand of fixtures were used. He knew the problem right away and brought everything he needed. When he came out, it was a very quick fix because he knew the problem and had the right tools and parts to fix the problem. Great Experience!

+ 0 moreAnnually, TLC turns our swamp coolers on for the summer and off for the winter. Every year, they do a great job. We have also had them replace our swamp cooler with a newer, more efficient unit. We have been very happy with there service and have been using them for over 11 years.
Description of Work: TLC turned off our swamp coolers for the winter: one on the ground and one on the roof. They also checked our boiler for carbon monoxide.

+ -1 moreFrom the time that the technician arrived, until he left, he was very methodical in his work, both in fixing the leaky faucets and searching for the primary water leak. I would definitely hire TLC again not only because they can respond quickly, but because the technican was professional in manner and dress, and most important, didn't leave the old parts and grime left behind for me to take care of.
Description of Work: I contacted TLC (based on favorable Angie's List reports) to track down a water leak that had slowly tripled my water bill over the past six months. I was surprised that this could be scheduled so quickly - within two days for the East Mountains. It's unfortunate that East Mountain residents get a trip charge added to the bill, but it is what it is. The technician first fixed two very leaky faucets, but saw a water leak was still making the meter spin fast. He went into my crawl space and saw nothing there. He looked outside and saw nothing there, either, so concentrated his efforts on something in the house. After ruling out the toilets, water heater, and other faucets, he checked the water softener. There he found the problem - the bypass valve was stuck open. Since he didn't repair softeners, he simply turned the valve off to stop the water and called his associate from the Kinetico side to see if he could help.
