Tech arrrived on time. After determining the problem, the technician said he did not have the right repalcement part with him (capacitor). He had to drive back to ABQ to get the part. Came back about two hours later (this is all in late afternoon) and made repairs. Everything working fine now.
Description of Work: Replaced capacitor on air conditioning unit. Checked that unit and another unit for proper level of refrgerant (both were fine).

They have also previously changed out two 3 ton air conditioners at my office and then disconnected and reconnected them when the roof was redone. Carlos has been the lead on all of these jobs. When I initially called to get an estimate for the current work at my home Carlos met me at home at 6 p.m. the same day I called. Job is scheduled to be completed at weeks end (6-21)
Description of Work: Installed two new high efficiency propane furnaces and converted two swamp coolers to refrigerated air.

The inspection, as far as I know, was fine. Two problems though. The first was their tech spray PAINTED an "X" in our landscape stone. The second was when I called to complain about I was transferred numerous times, but each time before someone transferred me they made sure to tell me that they had never had such a complaint before. You were hired by the buyer, I am the seller and we closed today and I reimbursed the buyer for this inspection so you performed this work for me. Pro Tip 1: in the future do NOT spray PAINT people's property! Pro Tip 2: Take ownership of the problem.

Went ok until the float stuck two weeks after installation. I was out of town and came back to running water off my roof, water damage to the ceiling in my Master bedroom, water damage in my sun room and a huge water bill. I called TLC, they came out told me it was a stuck float and they had no responsibility as they only install the units they didn't make the cooler. In the end I had $7000 in roof damage. Extremely disappointed with TLC and would never call on them again or ever use their service.

I called on 6/12/13 for an estimate to install a/c. The technician called me on 6/13 to schedule an appointment. We decided to meet at 3pm on Friday the 14th. I came home from work at 3pm and waited for 20 minutes. I finally called the Santa Fe location to find out where my technician was. They could not get a hold of him so I told them to cancel my appointment. The technician called me 30 minutes later to apologize and said he was running late. Who does that? You should call BEFORE HAND and let a customer know that you are running late, not 45 minutes after the fact!

The workers arrived on time. They were polite and left my home in good condition. The only down side was obtaining an estimate. I called two weeks prior to the Friday in which I wanted an estimator to come (next scheduled day off from work). The receptionist told me that they someone would call me the Thursday prior to tell me what time the estimator would arrive on Friday. When the phone call arrived on Thursday, I was told that they were scheduling estimate site visits two or more weeks out. I had to be pretty firm and insist that they keep their commitment to meet with me the next day, as both my spouse and I had asked for time off work. They accommodated the request. The estimator, Mike Gustafson, was wonderful. He patiently answered our many questions, quickly emailed the estimate, and later got us on the installation schedule very quickly. The AC works great -- it's money well spent. Go with this company -- they are awesome.
Description of Work: The provider installed a Heil brand refrigerated air conditioner and connected it to our existing Trane furnace. They removed the rooftop-mounted evaporative cooler and blocked the opening.

Ralph arrived and took a look at my problem. Note that my house is an older, built in '56 or so, and my sink is the old ceramic style mounted to the wall. So it is easy to get to but it is old. Ralph tried and tried to get the roto rooter pistol pack to go in but even after he found which drection the pipe went in the wall it just would not go in. He had one of those yellow zip strip uncloggers and it went in and he was able to clear the clog. He had to cut the sink end as it had a bad spot where it was leaking from. He also cut the pipe coming out of the wall but later found he didn't need to. He had a trap kit but it was missing a washer and didn't have an extra of the same type so he went to get one. So he endup replacing the metal pipe out of the and trap with synthetic piping. It took him a while to get it together so it wasn't leaking but he did it. I was convinced it couldn't be done. We created quite a mess but I had a towel down and also a small tub to catch the water and goo so it could have been much worse. Ralph cleaned up as best he could but let's face it plumbing can be quite messy. I tried lending a hand when it seemed appropriate. I had been convinced this would a a quick and simple call but there was quite a bit of sweating, grunting, and head scratching going on.
Description of Work: My bathroom sink was clogged and when I tried to plunge it the trap started leaking where the sink connects to ti.

They were great. They were great people to work with. They did really good troubleshooting and fixed the issue in economical way.

The TLC representative, Paul S, was very professional, super nice, and really nice to work with. He came over Saturday night and did what needed to be done and was very cordial, polite, and helpful during the whole process. I would definitely recommend TLC.
Description of Work: The TLC representative added a "kick-start" device to our air conditioner compressor, which is going bad and is expected to fail soon. The device will help keep the unit running as long as possible.

TLC continues to provide my wife and I with reliable and professional water treatment service. Keegan in the Kinetico office and Rob, my technician, are true professionals. I live in the East Mountains and the water is pretty hard and nasty, but my Kinetico water softener and RO system makes my water like it's coming from a clear mountain stream. I recommend them highly for your home.

Excellent experience -- lots of attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Ben knew it would be a cumbersome job and brought a partner. They divided up the chores for efficiency but teamed to double check each other's work installing the two units. The raised wooden floor in the WH closet was possibly compromised, so they dried it out thoroughly with a blower and hand built a new wood platform for the unit. Ben ended the install with a very patient lesson in maintenance procedures for me -- including a demo on exactly how to drain the WH (twice a year -- timed to when you get you teeth cleaned.)
Description of Work: When Ben from TLC showed up to get the swamp cooler going, he spotted the obvious symptoms of a dying water heater (puddles, stalagmite growing on top!) We went with his recommendation for size to fit our changing family and planned to install a recirculating pump in addition (Thus the higher total cost of $1800.)

The service man called and stated he was on his way which was very nice because I have two dogs that needed to be put away. He arrived right when he said he would and he got right to work. He had the toilet flushing within 20 minutes and he also checked to see if any of the other toilets where having problems. He was very clean and efficient. I will be using TLC plumbing again.

The plumber removed old kitchen faucet. He did not follow instruction: Flush the plumbing system before install new kitchen faucet. It took him approx. 3 hours to work since I feel that it should take the professional plumber less than one hour to complete work. After 3 hours, the plumber said that there is no warranty for new kitchen faucet which I bought from local hardware store. I was very upset. Then he removed new kitchen faucet and return old kitchen faucet. He tried to overcharge me for his service and said that he will come back to my house next day. After he left, I read the instruction on the box of new kitchen faucet which require to be flushed the plumbing system before install the new one. My husband, Ramon noticed that the plumber did not bother to flush the plumbing system at all. Next day, my husband pointed the plumber out that he did not flush the plumbing system. It took him less than 45 minutes to remove the old faucet and install new faucet. Then the plumber attempted to fix the leaking in our bath tub leaking. After the plumber left, the bath tub faucet was still leaking. Ramon called the supervisor about poor service so we got the refund, $95.10 for first visit. The supervisor listened our complaint without any argument.
Description of Work: He was to replace our kitchen sink and faucet, and repair a bath leak.

They have also replaced a sewer pipe. Things have gone very well with them. They are professional, and puntual. The guy was so good it was unbelieveable. I looked into alot of people and he was hands down the best. He explained more thoroughly about exactly what he would do for me, and what each thing would cost me.

We discovered our radiant heat furnace went out when we returned home from an out of town trip on a Sunday evening. I called TLC on Sunday night and the answering service representative took my information. We didn't feel it was necessary to have a service man out that evening burials promised a call first thing in the morning to schedule a service visit. I did get that call at around7:30am Monday morning and was promised that a repairman would call me before noon. Within 30 minutes the HVAC specialist was on his way. Because we live 30 mins from Albuquerque we were told up front that there would be a drive time charge. I felt this was reasonable. Our furnace was up and running by 10:00am. I was told the ground cable was oxidized and needed cleaning. No new parts were needed. A few days later it went out again, we called TLC back and the next service man sent found a problem with the regulator and replaced the part. He credited the previous visit. No problems since. Overall the quality of work was good. Honest company and honest, fast service.
Description of Work: Radiant heat furnace was repaired.

I think that I got someone to come out the same day that I placed the call. He quickly identified the problem. Unfortunately, they did not have a replacement blower in stock. They got it shipped to them within a few days and the new blower motor was installed very quickly. I shopped for the motor online and found the price to be not much lower than I was charged for it.
Description of Work: The blower motor on the furnace needed to be replaced.

Awesome! He had the project done and cleaned up before my wife could return home and see the unholy mess that I made.
Description of Work: I called TLC plumbing at about 10 am because I was having problems removing my old faucet. Mike from TLC called me at 10:30 am and told me that he was on his way. He was very professional and had the old faucet removed and the new faucet installed by 12:00 pm. All this for only $100. Way to go TLC (and Mike)!

Work was completed in one day, with as little disturbance to our routine as possible. Only one minor glitch, discovered when they had me run water in all sinks. One of the men got wet as he discovered they missed hooking up one sink drain. They laughed it off and had that final connection installed in a few minutes.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced sewer drain lines in the crawl space.

It was okay. Everything went fine except they didn't follow through on the permitting and getting the city out on the day they told me they would be here so I had to take a day off from work. They didn't follow through on the city permit inspection process correctly. Otherwise it was fine and the guy was very good. He was very nice and very helpful. They did it immediately. Everything was fine except for that one part. The price was fine.

Our furnace quit "firing" late Monday night. I meant to call first thing Tuesday morning to get someone out to look at it when I got home from work that afternoon. Time got away from me and I didn't start calling places until just before 4pm. TLC was my first call. At first the lady who answered the phone said they weren't scheduling any more appointments that day, they normally stop at 4pm. I asked if there was any way to get in since it wasn't technically 4 yet (it was 3:58 :) ). They were able to get me scheduled, so I headed home to meet the technician. Mark showed up at 5:30 and within 10 minutes determined it was the transformer. He installed a new transformer and an inline fuse just in case there was an active short. Luckily, there wasn't one, and our house is now toasty. Great experience. I will definitely call TLC again.

Description of Work: We had an emergency call as none of our three toilets was flushing! TLC came out within an hour, and cleaned our our main drain in about 20 minutes and solved the problem.
