I have called them over and over to see if someone can come out to give me a quote. Each time, they told me someone would be out in the next day or so, but no one ever showed up. I ended up having to speak with the manager, who also told me someone would be out to look at. I still haven't heard anything from them, and haven't gotten a quote for the work.
Description of Work: I wanted them to come and give me an estimate to fix my furnace.

Tech, Eric, was very polite and knowledgeable. He called when he was in route, and arrived within 15 minutes of his call. upon arrival, he knew where to look for a possible problem, based on the symptoms that were described to him. In less than 30 minutes, the unit was repaired.
Description of Work: Replaced run capacitor on A/C unit.

My swamp cooler stopped working and the temperature had become unbearable inside my house by Sunday evening. I checked Angie's List and called TLC. The answering service took my information and the on-call provider, Eric Santillanes, contacted me within a matter of minutes. Mr. Santillanes was extremely professional and understanding. He listened to my concerns and issues I was having with my unit. After initially believing my unit could not be fixed until regular business hours, Mr. Santillanes was able to track down the parts I needed and ultimately fixed my cooler. This was my first time using TLC. I will use them in the future. Thank you so very much Mr. Santillanes. Our family is very grateful and now cool, too.

Jack came at the exact time scheduled and was very professional, courteous and explained everything to me and even put up with my dogs barking and wanting to play with him the whole time. My toilets have been working great. He had to replace parts in one of them. My overflow was pouring water out whenever I ran my dishwasher and Jack unclogged my drain and replaced a part and now it doesn't do that anymore. I was very happy with TLC - this is the first time I have used them and I will definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: Fixed two toilets that were flushing on their own and unclogged my kitchen sink.

TLC sent out their service tech, Mauricio, to install a noise suppressant blanket on our refrigerated air compressor. Not only was Mauricio punctual, he installed the blanket quickly and explained exactly what it should do. The unit had been making so much noise it was disturbing our next door neighbor. Since the installation of the blanket the unit is actually quieter that the other unit. We have spoke with several other people at TLC including Bodie and each and every one has been exceptionally friendly and helpful. A big difference from some other plumbing, heating and cooling companies we have used in Albuquerque.
Description of Work: Installed a compressor blanket on a refrigerated air conditioner unit.

The response was prompt and professional. What I appreciated later on is that he called back to make sure the city had responded and was working on the problem. He also made sure I understood that the city would likely reimbuse me for his costs. Very happy with the service.
Description of Work: We called about a sewer backup. After a bit of work he determined that it was a backup at the city level. He called the city to have them come out and clear the line and then cleaned up after himself.

Company called to let me know they would be later than the window they set up. Original window was 3-5, but they managed to get here around 5:30. Matthew did a really good job and his attention to detail was solid. I paid by credit card on the day of the service. As I write this review it is now two weeks later and the company has sent me an unpaid invoice with added finance charges. I am sure I will be able to resolve this as I have proof I paid, but my life is really busy and having to do extra leg work during my own work hours to prevent this company from trying to double charge me and tack on additional fees is really inconvenient and annoying. The invoice is dated 5/05/2015, which is also the date they decided to tack on a finance charge. But I didn't receive this invoice in the mail until today, 5/14/2015. This may be an additional point against them from a billing and administration stand point. I'll update this review once it is resolved, but the D for price is due to the double charging and the slight ding to responsiveness is due to their available hours to discuss this problem. Update: I left a message last night for them to call me about this and gave them until 11:45am this morning to call me back and they had not. I then called them myself and got it resolved within a few minutes. Bumping price rating back up to a B and giving them the benefit of the doubt that this was a weird one off mistake.
Description of Work: Cleaned up and turned on swamp cooler. Replaced some parts.

I love them. They're very good. They're very knowledgeable. They did a great job. I would say the frosting on the cake was they have a person that is really good with plaster work and finishing work and he came and did that because they had to go into the wall and stuff. He came and did that finishing work and no one could tell. He was awesome. They had to remove carpeting which they then put back. They were very careful about moving the carpeting back so they could jackhammer into the floor and they put the carpeting back perfectly and they brought the finishing guy and he was awesome. I give them an A on everything.
Description of Work: We used TLC Plumbing & Utility. I had a jackhammer in the living room and they had to take the floor out and go in the house and the pipes had gotten uneven and there was leak so it was kind of a big project. They fixed a plumbing.

I heard about this company through great word of mouth. How reliable and responsible it is. I called to get their $185/yr changeover from cooler to furnace and back again. Great. I'm new to ABQ and a new homeowner so I really want to hear about people/co that do a good job. They were late in coming but the office called 15 min before end of time block to say they were running late. Service man called later to say I was next. He checked to see if furnace needed to be turned off, no,different duct work. He was up on the roof and around for back to work. Came down and went through a litany of all the things wrong. This was a big surprise as the house inspector at purchasing said everything was good there except rust. i thought I had a new belt if he needed it. Said it was too big . I was amazed at the bill. $197 (tax) for joining the yearly changeover program and another$203 for filters,a new float, a new pump and other miscellaneous: float valve, the fan belt... James explained it is company policy to always put in a new float and pump every yr.They charged $90 for the filter pads ion top of the "membership" James said the membership was only an hour's labor ,everything else was a charge and indeed TLC's paperwork lists standard pads at $90 under 'Additional Services as needed or requested" I would have gotten the pads myself at Home Depot . Why replace parts as company policy weather they are needed or not??? I wish I knew he was actually putting the parts on before he did. I was so angry at a $400 charge and for parts I don't think I needed. I can't use the word to express how I felt. I let the people know who recommended them. they were totally shocked, had never experienced anything like this with TLC.I felt like it was a total ripoff '

I’d like to take this opportunity to say that it is not company policy to change a pump every time we do a change over. I will address that with the technician and his supervisor. We do however replace floats to avoid the potential of a nonfunctioning pump causing overflow leading to possible water damage. At the end of the day our main goals are to do a good job for our customers and to be sure that our customers are satisfied. I’d hate to lose you as a customer and will refund the CCP amount. thI called one morning to ask for an appointment and was promptly and professionally given an appointment for 10-12 the following morning. At 1pm I called to ask what happened. I was put on long holds two times (one time more than 10 minutes before I re-dialed). I was told that someone had called to cancel the appointment. No one had. They immediately sent a crew of three guys to do the estimate. The crew seemed competent and professional, but the bid came in for 2x the other two bids we had gotten. Aside from repeatedly asserting that we cancelled the appointment (I have no idea why), the phone and field staff were professional. The firm is renown and reliable. I would try to use them in the future, but this episode did not work.
Description of Work: I was looking for an estimate, for financing purposes, for the replacement of the water main.

They are pleasant, courteous and they discuss things. They actually do something and they stand by their work. They guarantee and warranty it. They were professional and the first time I called them the furnace was making a lot of noise and they came out and said that the bolts were loose and they adjusted them.

They are extremely good and will be back next month to convert the heater back over to the swamp cooler. Their price is competitive in this area, as a matter of fact they are a little cheaper than other people.

They were very, very good in what they did. Caleb was the tech we saw the most, but Nick was also very helpful and good in what he did. Accommodating, made good suggestions, fine work. One issue: we were told it would be 2.5 days, it turned out to be 4.5 days. Since we are both retired, this was no big deal, but it was a bit of a nuisance to be distracted throughout almost all of Holy Week. (I'm sure it was a nuisnace for them as well). If time is important to you, I'd make this clear to them. For us, it wasn't. Nevertheless, all's well that ends well, and my Bride is VERY pleased with the way our bathroom now looks. In my opinion, they gave good value for money, worth an "A" in my book.
Description of Work: They installed a step-in bathtub, then retiled the bath nook, painted the bathroom, and tiled the floor. Lots of finishing touches.

Had TLC come out to service my furnaces. They were in working order, and they just needed to be verified prior to selling my house. Matthew / MGU14 was the technician. The date was 2/5/15. Work order #: H201235. Invoice #:412875. He reports that the upstairs furnace was "cracked' and had an output of 2 ppm of carbon monoxide and that it needed to be replaced and gave me a quote for $2700 to replace it. I was not shown any readings. This was all per the technician. I thought this was strange as the furnace was not even close to the end of it's lifespan. I was told that the AC units could not be checked until March. I was suspicious about the furnace being replaced, and I called and got another opinion. I recently had another HVAC company check my furnace out on April 2, 2015, and they said that the furnace was in excellent working order with absolutely no inside carbon monoxide emissions. I feel this was a very deceptive practice to prey on people's fear of carbon monoxide poisoning to get people to buy new furnaces from them. I am appalled at the dishonesty, and I feel that this should be reported.

On Wednesday our dishwasher backed up due to a clogged line. We called another plumber who was "overloaded" and tried to help my husband troubleshoot by phone. He was to come on Tuesday but never did. Wednesday morning I called TLC. Austin was at our house within the hour. He worked quickly to fix the problem and answered all of my husband's many questions. Austin was polite and professional. I wish that I had known that TLC has a unit always ready to repair clogged drains because I would have called them first.
Description of Work: Cleared a clogged line that had caused our dishwasher to overflow via the sink to the kitchen floor.

Chantry was courteous and knowledgeable and worked quite fast. He explained what he was doing and answered all our questions. Nothing negative to say. I wish my past experiences with plumbers had all gone this well.

I called and told them what I needed. The plumber arrived on time was professional and knowledgeable. Of course he did not bring a dryer vent hose so he had to go and get one of course. I had him on a timer because I do not trust plumbers especially ones that do not come prepared. When all was done and he left I had bill that was terrible. He was here 50 minutes but that was him leaving and coming back. Did a good job. I was charge twice the price of a vent hose and for 1 1/2 hours. I sent a email and they answered they have a value core and so own and after two emails TLC offered to charge me for an hour and nothing for parts but would not admit they did wrong. I told them to stuff their money and their values. I also told them values means you admit to a mistakes and live your values not talk them.

1) For the cost of a single service call, plus parts, all of our leaking faucets/valves were renewed. Technician was polite and efficient. 2) Main drain was cleaned and running in short order. 3) In only 2 months, the main drain was again clogged. The technician was quick and friendly, and found the blockage to be easily cleared. Since it was so easy, he couldn't understand why we had to call TLC so soon after previous service, so he got out his camera snake (just like on HGTV programs) and found that the line has a slight "belly" sag at the city connection. This service call was at no charge - we might have to pay them more down the line if the sag gets worse.
Description of Work: Covering 3 service calls: 1) Replace cores in 2 valves and replace 1 complete valve. 2) Main drain line snaked. 3) Main drain snaked and inspected by camera.

Cliff was on time, worked very fast (hence the very reasonable cost), and explained how things worked. I don't know whether the quality of the work was good long term, as the work was done just today. However, if things hold up, I could not be more pleased.
