Military Personal Beware of The Alarm Store I am writing this review on behalf of my parents to include myself. I am an Army Veteran of 22+ years and I am now taking care of my parents. My parents were experiencing issues with the system to include arming it. My mom who is in her mid-60’s called on a recorded line The Alarm Store to see what was going on. The agent Alex who was assisting my mom was helping her trouble shoot the system. Then Alex became aggravated because my mom would do what the agent would say, and he would then yell at her and told her she was doing is wrong. She said how am I doing it wrong if I’m doing what you said. The Alex asked her to trouble shot the internet. My mom did everything the Alex said. Then the Alex said you’re going to have to get another internet provider and it must be Verizon. My mom said why do I need to get another provider if it worked before. It doesn’t make sense. He then said do you want me to get you the number for Verizon. My mom sad no thank you. Alex started to belittle her and got her really upset. Then he said I would have to charge you a lot of money to send a service team out there. We don’t have local people and we will have to get a third party to do it and you will be responsible for these fees. My mom said your installed it and had no issues before. I been with you for over 7 years, and we are a good paying customer. Alex then said it don’t matter how long that you been with us. My mom said I would like to speak to a supervisor or manger, Alex said no and hung up on here. My mom called again Alex answered and told her there is nothing he could do and hung up on here again she called again but this time they just left her on hold for 20 min until she hung up. My father called on a recorded line to speak to The Alarm Store General Manger His name is Lynn Russel. Lynn got hostile with my father. He voiced his concern to Store General Manger Lynn Russel. He also tried to report the Alex on how he treads his wife. Lynn became aggravated and very defensive and defended Alex. Lynn is in denial on what happened. Lynn stated to my father if you want to continue service, you’re going to have to pay an additional expense of $400-$600 or more for a third party to get this resolved. If you don’t like it, you can take your business somewhere else. Then my father told him I want to cancel everything and please give me a refund. My father always pays for the service a year in advance. Lynn stated if you want it disconnected you will have to email my disconnection department gave him the info and told him not to call back again. Then I got involved and emailed them the information the need it. It as a professional email and I did include my attorney’s information just in case it would escalate. I have attached a screenshot of the email response from the manager. I sent the email 25 July 2022 My parents are right they are bad. Lynn told me in the email if I had other accounts with family members there that she suggested I find service some where else. Well, I found them better services right away and they got free install no contract and more hardware to include cameras at no additional cost. To top it off on this The Alarm Store system don’t use their own equipment they use whatever is there. My parents had ADT prior to them. They rewire it and add their info. Why does my parent have to pay for a third party for the Alarms Stores faults? Maybe if they would have used a new system then and offer a free upgrade now they would still be with them. See Attached email on mangers response. I do not recommend them at all. I hope the owners contact me. I will also put reviews on other sites as well to bring awareness to others about the bad services.

Installer on time. He had to come back because alarm was going off by itself because of motion detector. He came back right away and installed a different motion detector. I'm happy with this local company.

Good. High quality products and professional installation. A bit on the pricey side but you usually get what you pay for. I added numerous features and am expecting years of trouble free operation.

Service man was very helpful and courteous. He switched everything over quickly and I've not had any problems since the change last September

I was not provided with a pin code and had to go visit the store, everything needed was associated with additional fees that they don't inform you of ahead of time. I was even charged to get the pin code to my alarm system which should have been given anyways. I did not find this to be a good experience at all and would not recommend this company to anyone. Don't listen to what you hear, listen to what they DON'T tell you.

Hal, our installer, called to ask if he could come early which was fine with us. It was obvious from the first minute that Hal knew what he was doing. After an initial survey, he presented some options we had not thought about and answered questions about cell phone integration into our system that I had concerns about. I could not have scripted this installation to have run any smoother. It was obvious Hal knew what he was doing, and his professionalism was evident in all phases of the process, including the programming session following the hardware installation.

Excellent installation and seamless implementation.

As the new window was being installed we realized the intrusion sensor would need to be replaced. At 10:30 AM we requested the service; Zach arrived a half-hour later and finished by noon. He explained beforehand exactly what he would do, giving a choice among three installations; then he did it very quickly and professionally, and tested the system before leaving. We have been subscribers to TAS since moving to our Albuquerque home in 1994. In addition to providing routined alarm monitoring, they have been out for occasional service calls. They are always responsive, prompt, courteous, and effective.

Everything went well, although the city of Rio Rancho charges a registration fee to have an alarm system. You have 30 days to register or you will be charged a $50 late fee. TAS did not inform me of this until I finally received a letter from them 3 weeks after activation, not giving me much time to deal with the registration.

An estimate was provided. The estimator made it clear what was to be covered, and an appointment was made for the installation. When the installer arrived, he had a total different plan and was going to charge $1000 more. Clearly, this is a "bait and switch" tactic. No thank you. I showed him the door!

This is a good store for "do it yourselfers"

They reused several components, such as the external siren and several door sensors, from the old system at no extra cost. They also removed the non-functional components of the old system. Installation was quick, within 2 weeks of my order, and even that was only because I wanted a Friday installation. I've tested the system several times since then and everything works as advertised.

I had TAS come to my house to provide an estimate. David was on time, and incredibly helpful. I like how they only require a one year contract. For the time being, we decided to go with a security camera system. However, I anticipate us installing an alarm system as well and when we decide to, we will be using TAS.

Said they would "take over" existing equipment; but, did not have assurance that the current alarm company would leave the equipment intact for them to take over. Have ADT equipment and service. Contacted ADT and they agreed to a substantial reduction in rates, so have decided to continue with ADT. NOTE: if you are an ADT customer with more than 3 years service, call them to see if you can get a reduction.

We got adt and it was a lot more expensive than the rep said it would be and we are still waiting on the rebate!

Ryan and Kevin arrived about 30 minutes after the appointed time but it went well from there. After discussing the installation and how it would be done, both gentlemen got to work. A few modifications were made or were necessary which did not delay the installation. Some of the installation required Kevin to enter the small attic area in our flat roof home. He did an excellent job of completing that work and with Ryan, the entire installation and security panel upgrades were done in one day. Great job gentlemen!

Ryan Stanley was our Technician. Very professional and courteous. We had wired and wireless contacts added to newly installed windows and doors that were custom stained. Ryan carefully attached the contacts where I wanted them / or if he recommended differntly. He also installed a strobe light on the exterior and a wireless smoke detector. We have used TAS since 2007 and as a representative of a quality window and door manufactuer, I highly recommend TAS!

After the estimate was completed, the installer arrived and quickly and efficiently installed the sensors. The installer was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The instructions for the operation of the system were simple and clearly explained to us. The installer was careful not to disturb our household belongings and left the house exactly the way he found it. We were able to operate the system after it was installed without confusion or problems. We have had the system installed for a week at this point and we are very satisfied with the estimate, the installation, staff, and the performance of the alarm system. The transfer and connection to the central monitoring station was seamless and trouble-free. We are extremely satisfied with the whole experience.

We had a break-in in our yard and decided we needed to turn on the security system that was installed but inoperative when we bought our home last winter. The original installer did not respond to several phone calls so I found TAS on Angie's List, called them, and they responded immediately and very professionally. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and the level of security is excellent. I highly recommend this company.

Great service from the rep coming to our house to evaluate our needs to the installation and instructions as to how to use the system.

We lost the key for our existing alarm system and decided to make the switch to TAS Security Systems. They responded promptly to our request and explained thoroughly what was needed to update and upgrade our old system. The price quoted matched what they advertised and the work could be done within a week. Ryan, the installer, showed up on time and was courteous and professional. Overall we are extremely satisfied and will be getting some additional work done in the near future. We highly recommend this company.
