First, when I called Angela set up a date and time for Mario to come by to give an estimate. He was a little late in arriving, but Angela called ahead to let me know in advance that he would be delayed. Mario surveyed the project, took a couple of pictures for reference, and provided me with a written estimate of the cost to complete the project. After we agreed on the price, Mario left for a short time and proceeded to take care of the problem immediately. This was great since I the wall had been open for some time waiting for the plumber to be available to make the repair, and I had waited awhile to be certain the repair would hold up. I was tired of looking at the gaping hole in the wall. Mario quickly installed the section of wallboard, taped the seams, mixed exactly the right amount of wallboard mud (!), and then coated the seams. I was worried that I was going to get another typical handyman-quality job with a visible seam that supposedly would be hidden by the texturing and a coat of paint. In my experience this has never worked. If you can see the seam before you paint, you can see it afterward. To my surprise, as I was standing there watching and talking to Mario, he made all evidence of the previous opening in the wall disappear before my eyes. He kept working the wallboard mud progressively smoother, re-wetting as needed to extend the workability time. It kept getting smoother and smoother. Then he used his texturing brush (or whatever you call that thing) to perfectly match the surrounding wall texture (orange peel, he called it). Since it was a white wall to begin with, there was almost no need to repaint to get it to match. After it dried completely, I literally had to stand right next to the repair and shine a light on it to see the repair site. The only detectable difference was the flat texture of the coating and the less flat texture of the adjacent painted surface. Afterward, Mario did a great job of cleaning up. He left the area around the repair cleaner than when he started the job. He charged just what he had estimated. I will definitely be using Mario's services again in the future if some remodeling company doesn't s***** him up and start charging a lot more for his services. I have only seen this quality of wallboard work done by contractors who do work principally for commercial companies. I have never gotten it in my own home before. I really appreciate his work.

He tried to talk me into a job that would cost me thousands of dollars. He wanted to scrape down the popcorn off my ceiling in 6 rooms and a hallway. I told him no many, many times and said I just wanted him to fix my ceiling. He wouldn't give me a price on what I asked him to do. He said he would call back in a couple of hours with an estimate. He never did that. He is a crook.

I thought this would be a repair project that I could do myself. Was I wrong! Better to hire someone who knows what they are doing and have it done right and professionally. We are very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone.

Called and told them I was in no hurry. We agreed on a date and time. Mario showed up on time and 1 hour later left. He cut out piece of drywall to install in the hole. Added 2 boards to attach the new drywall. Put down "mesh tape" then spread "mud" over the tape and the new piece of drywall. It was quick drying. He masked off areas so texturing would not get on them. After 10 minutes the sprayed on some texturing; and cleaned up. We had agreed we would paint. He was gone in 1 hour. This was in a very awkward location and I suggested several shortcuts since it would not easily be seen.. He said he would do a professional job.

At first, they were kind of unresponsive. When I was reporting this to Angie?s List, they were calling me on the other line. Since then, everything has been going smoothly. My home flooded & I had alot of damage. This company was affordable, prompt, and courteous. I want people to know how great this company is. After they completed the job, my home looks like the flooding never happened. I cannot tell where the old sheetrock is & the new sheetrock meet; it came out perfectly. They want to make the customer happy. These people are the best in this area. I would highly recommend this company to others.

My message was returned promptly, and Mario came right on time to look at the damage and give me an estimate. Angela e-mailed me a written estimate, and returned my call promptly when I called to schedule the work. Mario came on time for the appointment, and completed the work in about 2 1/2 hours. The ceiling looks as good as new and the texture matches perfectly. He suggested that I could save some money by doing the painting myself. He cleaned up after himself, and was friendly and pleasant throughout. He honored the Angie's List coupon. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this service.

Mario matches texture perfectly to existing texture. His work is top quality. This is for single ladies out there worrying about who they should allow to come into their home. The ladies who worry that someone is going to take advantage of them. This company not only does quality work, they are quality people.

The price was more than I hoped and the crew should have cleaned up better after themselves. There were nails and pieces of drywall left in the driveway and yard, and some patches of drywall compound left on the garage floor. Regardless, I liked the work and would use them again.

I was impressed from the beginning with Mario's knowledge of his trade and his willingness to negotiate an extremely fair price. He and his team were very understanding of our predicament with having this plumbing disaster happening so close to the holidays and willingly worked overtime and on the weekend to get the job done. The drywall and texturing was of excellent quality - friends still can not tell where the 30 holes were! Super Mario was the only company that used a wet sanding technique that eliminated a lot of the mess that normally goes with a retexturing job and Mario's attention to detail, matching each texture exactly, was amazing. They worked quickly and professionally at all times but were still extremely friendly, personal, and very willing to clean-up after themselves. They finished the job as scheduled on Christmas Eve with a bag full of homemade tamales in hand! I would highly recommend this extremely talented company!

My experience with Super Mario Drywall was excellent. I called Super Mario Drywall based on their ad in Angie's list newsletter. Mario arrived within 45 minutes of my call; we negotiated a fair price for the work; and within about an hour and 15 minutes the damage was repaired. Mario's work was very professional and his matching of the textured ceiling was excellent. Mario is a nice guy who does excellent drywall work.

I highly recommend Mario's services. His company has good communication and follow-through, competitive pricing, and Mario strikes me as a really good guy who's doing honest work for a fair price. They performed a quality drywall installation and his crew was professional. He was prompt for the estimate and for the work. Once I was ready to move forward with the work, they were able to schedule just a couple of days out, coming on the weekend to do the job. They completed most of it on Saturday, and finished mud and texture on the following Sunday. The cost was true to the estimate, even though I think this took a bit longer than anticipated due to a lot of drywall cuts and angles, etc. I was surprised that they installed sheets with edges resting directly on the concrete slab, instead of leaving a ~ 1/2" gap above the concrete floor to avoid moisture wick, but to be fair to Mario, I didn't request it specifically -- I was making an assumption. They said it wouldn't be an issue. I would highly recommend Super Mario and would definitely use his services again.

Mario appeared for work as planned at around 9AM, and textured approximately 10 square feet in 5 locations matching the existing texture on the wall and the ceiling. He completed the job at around 1:30PM. Job looks wonderful.

They were excellent. The experience with them was excellent because they were professional and did beautiful work. You can't see where they repaired the wallboard. The texturing that they did was also excellent and it just matched to the rest of the wallboard throughout the rooms.

Went great, hard to tell where the ceiling crack was. Though they were running behind they were in constant contact about the approx. time they would show up.

He did an excellent job. They were very friendly and they did the whole job in one day. I would highly recommend them.

Although Mario was a bit late to our initial meeting on Saturday afternoon to give us his estimate for repairs, Angela apologized, saying he had been delayed, and told us he would be there shortly. When he arrived, he explained what would be involved in the repair, and he answered my husband's and my several questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. We told him we had found him through Angie's List, and he assured us that even though the last two reports he had received were pretty critical, one of the customers never even had the work done by him (just had an estimate done) and another had continuously changed the job requirements adding a lot more work but insisting on very little negotiation on the original price quoted by Mario. I could tell this personally upset him, and he told us he had always received "A" reports before from customers on Angie's List and through the Better Business Bureau. He seemed caring and honest and he seemed perplexed by those reports. My husband and I both liked the care he took in asking us if he could remove a small torn section of the ceiling to inspect it closer. Other contractors we've consulted about the problem just pulled back the torn tape without asking. I found that respectful of our property -- even though the ceiling plaster was basically falling apart anyway! After reviewing the problem and measuring the area, he asked for our e-mail address so he could send us a written estimate. We were impressed that we received the written estimate from the company the very next day -- on a Sunday. I thought their estimate form looked very professionally done and clever, too, embellished with it's "Super Mario" cartoon figure. The estimate price was right about exactly what we were thinking it might be. So we told them we would go with their company and scheduled them to start the work a week later. The employee, Carlos, who arrived the day of the work, introduced himself to my husband and after thoroughly taping off the area with painters tape and plastic so that nothing would get on our stucco walls or painted wood trim, began the repairs. He scraped the entire ceiling of the old peeling plaster, then replaced the large hole with new sheetrock. After taping and coating the area, he applied the texture to match the "knockdown" look of our surrounding stucco. He worked hard all day from the morning till 7 PM. He was courteous and the craftsmanship of his work shows! It was raining the next day, so the company and we decided to do the painting of the ceiling (with a high-quality exterior paint that Mario uses) the following day. Jason did an outstanding job in painting. I'm picky about straight lines, and he did a great job! When Mario came by to see how it was finishing up and to collect the payment, I pointed out a couple of very small paint drops on the stucco, and he went to his van and got a toothbrush and water and brushed them off! Good work guys -- Angela, Mario, Carlos and Jason!!!

They did a fairly good job overall. There were a few places that I really didn t think the texture matched very well. The original estimate was $3000.00 and we did have them do a little more work than the original estimate however they still finished the job in the same amount of time that they originally estimated and I can imagine that they used more than 5 or 6 additional sheets of drywall. I was shocked to be handed a bill for $4200.00 at the completion of the job and when I asked for the Angie s List discount Mario only deducted $200.00.

Mario and his brother were very nice. They seemed to know exactly what they were talking about during their initial inspection. We marked them down in responsiveness because it took a few days for the quote to get to us, and that was only after we called them and inquired as to why we didn't have it yet. It still took another day to get the quote after the phone call. We chose not to have them perform the work because their estimate was $1100 (I think this even included a $100 Angie's List discount). In my opinion, this was *way* overboard. I had estimated in my head that we should pay around $500 for this service, and that's exactly what we did pay to another individual. All in all, Mario seems like a very nice and honest person. If his price was more in line with what I thought was appropriate, I would have gone with him.

Very prompt and professional. It was easy to schedule the estimate and the work was completed on our time line. Only complaints: the outlet covers on our wall were not removed so some texture got on the covers and was not removed and some texture was left on our floor and adobe wall. These things are minimal and worth it for how well our walls and ceiling look.

The quality of the repair was excellent. They showed up on time and completed the job as promised.

Mario is friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and works very quickly. The job itself was completed in record time and the repair itself is completely invisible to the uneducated eye. I highly recommend Super Mario Drywall.
