Great. I needed drywall done after getting some electrical work. Mario arrived when I asked and got the work done quickly. The coverage on the walls was smoothed over really well. I can’t even tell that there were previously holes cut into my walls

I had a leak from a roof that came through the house and ruined my front closet. I also wanted areas around my home fixed where it had cracked. There were 3 of them plus a drywall guy who came in to mud the walls for one day, what didn't get done that day, never got done. There was mud all over my carpets, my sofa, my floor tiles, and everywhere else. He used the paint I had in my garage, which was just opened, but then took it with him to buy more and threw it away, claiming it was bad. When the drywall was removed from the wall, it was very wet, I had to use my fan and ladders to dry the wall out otherwise they were just going to replace over it. They came when they liked, sometimes for 30 minutes in the afternoon, then left, what was a 3-day job turned out to be more than a week. I called his wife Angela and told her they need not finish, I would get someone else, she was extremely rude and told me not to play that game with her. I had to refuse entry to his son, as he was rude to me. While this was all going on, my father died and I needed to leave. The interior of the closet was semi-gloss paint, but they painted it flat white. When I complained about the paint, he said that he should have charged me extra, as the closet was not in the estimate, odd seeing as that was the main reason for employing them. Areas, where the drywall and filling were needed replacing, are still not done, never saw them again.

As previously stated, Mario came to my home, bid $700 for a small drywall repair and after I paid him $400 cash to buy materials he never, not once, returned to even start the job. I subsequently hired another drywall person who did the job for $120 and completed the job in 3 hours. Despite many, many attempts to get my money back from Mario all I ever got were lies and broken appointments. I have all the texts to prove my point. In addition his wife, Angela (I believe) called my phone and left me a very nasty message telling me I was not getting the money because they don't have it. Just now as I'm writing this I got a text from Angela stating that they have $100 now and how would I like to receive it-PayPal?? I have not answered her at this time. Please note that I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas and will complete that tomorrow.

I thought Mario’s price was fair for everything I was asking to be done. Unfortunately, I had to ask him to come back to finish work that was paid for and unfinished. Certain things are still unfinished and I definitely over paid. I should have asked for an itemized list, but instead just gave him what we verbally agreed on. I wanted the interior of my home painted, flat roof above my garage redone, garage ceiling scraped and painted, 2 bedrooms ceilings painted, trim painted in one bedroom, rotten boards on deck to be replaced and whole deck painted. I still have rotten boards on deck, a water stain on my bedroom ceiling was spray painted instead of the whole thing painted (color does not match, i have to paint it myself). Garage ceiling was primed, not painted, paint is splattered on my floors, windows, and floor boards. Kitchen was painted tan over my previous white and there are white patches EVERYWHERE. The price I paid was at the very least $1000 too much and i regret hiring this company.

Our house had several defective drywall seams: tape unbonded from the drywall, some 20 feet up in the clerestory. Mario took out the old tape, patched, texture matched, and painted. Repairs are solid and invisible.

With the exception of being late, things went well. Mario and his son worked quickly and completed all the work within about three hours. My only complaint is that they did not use any primer (which was provided) on the repaired surfaces so the painting will need to be redone to achieve a proper match to the existing paint.

Thank you for your quick review. The paint was provided and matched by customer so if the match was not correct it didn't have anything to do with the primer. Of course always when you paint a new repair the paint is fresh and clean compare to existing. Our company would be happy to go back and paint area again. If customer would notify us, this is the first we have heard of such concern.

Mario and his son were really friendly and punctual. They were done in one afternoon.
Description of Work: I originally rated Super Mario Drywall an A because they were prompt and friendly, but I have to change my review after having multiple other contractors come by to complete our bathroom project. Super Mario used materials in my shower stall that are not up to code and haven't been in decades, and I'm going to have to have to get the wall ripped out and replaced with product that is up to code, which is going to sett us back quite a bit of money! That's always frustrating as a homeowner to hear.

My excellent experience with Super Mario began while arranging for estimates with Angela, Mario's wife. She was very instrumental in keeping me updated with my appointment and with the whole process in general, from arranging an estimate (via email, which was totally convenient) to scheduling the work. Mario is a self-starter and clearly takes pride in his work and in his company. He's a great guy with great stories. His work is top notch and I would not hesitate to hire him again in the future. If you're looking for someone to do drywall work, Mario is your guy. You will not be disappointed.

The finished work looks very good, and the crew cleaned up the garage very well. Mario had to cancel and reschedule several times over the period of a week due to trouble with his van, an emergency of one of his workers, and an injury to his hand he was dealing with. Originally I was told the job could be done in about a day and a half. Since I am retired, having to reschedule repeatedly was not an issue. If I had had to take off work every time he was scheduled and didn't show up, I would have been extremely unhappy. Mario is a very personable, interesting guy, with a good heart and he and his wife were very apologetic about all the delays. His estimate was a little higher than other estimates I received, even with the discounts he said he gave me, but I know that cheaper isn't necessarily better. Overall, I am very happy with the completed work of Mario and crew.

It went well in the sense that he came the day he said he would, and he finished it. Through no fault of his, the light in the shower did not survive the repair and had to be replaced. I could not find a replacement at Lowe's or Sears, and Mario found what we needed at Samons bought it, and put in in, bing, bang, boom. Done. No charge. I have another job for Mario coming up; he strikes me as a gentleman, and so I am happy to patronize his business.

Superr Mario is a small business but gives friendly and professional service. We had a roof leak in one of our closets due to the winter snow storms. When I was sure the roof leak was repaired, I called four contractors for estimates. Super Mario was only one of two to respond. I got a call back from his wife and we set up an appointment for an estimate for Friday. She texted me later in the day to see if Mario could come by earlier, which he did. After doing the estimate, Mario said he could come by the next day to do the repair. On Saturday, Mario showed up with his son to do the work. They were quick and neat with the two hour repair job, first removing the damaged drywall, replacing the insulation, spraying a mildew block, taping and finally texturing. They even patched another wall that was slightly damaged from removing some adhesive. They left no mess behind and even cleaned up the tarp I had originally placed on the carpet. Great company to work with and I highly recommend for those small jobs that can be a pain to repair by yourself.

We had a small leak into the garage ceiling that needed to be addressed quickly. The leak was stopped which was minor but the garage ceiling need to be opened, dried out, and replaced with new materials. SuperMario Drywall was very responsive to our needs. Contact was made with them Friday afternoon, and by Friday evening I received a call back that Mario could arrive Saturday afternoon. He showed up Saturday on time and opened up a small section of ceiling. He traced the route of the water in the ceiling and instead of tearing out the entire ceiling, he took out the parts of the ceiling that got wet from the small leak. He removed the insulation and put a fan to run all night. The next afternoon Mario arrived (Sunday) and ensured the ceiling was dry which it was. He then treated the area with Mold Control product. He allowed that to set a few more days. I then scheduled him in so he could finish up the work. He arrived on time and finished very efficiently. He reinstalled new insulation, drywall, and textured to match the original skip trowel texture. He took a paint sample and had it mixed. The following day he arrived and finished the painting. It matches perfectly. He cleaned up the garage and mopped the garage floor. I am so glad I went with Mario. He knows what he is doing and is one of the best in the area for his trade.

We had hired this company (Mario and his wife, Angela) a year ago to finish our garage and were satisfied with the quality of work, fairness of cost, professionalism, and punctuality. We hired them again, based on that to finish the walls of a playhouse. We paid them half up front and were told they were going to start work December 5th and that it would take 2-3 days to finish the job. The first day, they were supposed to arrive by 1pm... then 1:30pm... then I got a text at 2:06pm that they were on their way. They showed up after 3pm and dropped off materials, then promised to return the next few days to finish the job. Then next day, they texted at 11:35am that they were going to a birthday party they had forgotten about and would either be out later or the next day. Monday the 7th, I received a text at 10:16am stating they would arrive by noon, then a text at 12:16pm that they were on their way. At 1:41pm I texted to ask if they were still coming... "Yes should be driving up". I left the house around 2pm and they were still not there. Before installing the drywall, there were some framing adjustments needed; inserting wood into the corners/doorway for the drywall to screw into evenly. The work took 2-3 hours and used boards we had leftover from building. I offered "do we owe you anything extra for the framing work?", Mario declined, saying that it was not a big deal. Afterwards, he stated that his family had encountered unexpected expenses, and asked to be paid the remainder in advance. I told him I was uncomfortable doing that and he promised that he was trustworthy. We wrote him a check. Tuesday the 8th, they said they would be there by 12:30pm, I texted to ask if they were still coming at 1:22pm and was told they should be on their way. Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th, they showed up between 2:00 and 2:30pm. Mario talked a lot about how this is a slow time of year and he had no other jobs. Friday the 11th, they showed up at 3:15pm and sat in the van for about 30 minutes before starting work. Mario then suggested that we not texture the wall so it would be easier to paint. Saturday the 12th, they did not show up at all. (I insisted we did not expect them to work weekends and the weather was bad anyway so this is not an issue) Sunday the 13th, I received a text stating that they "had not forgotten about us" and would be back out to clean up on Tuesday. I informed them that we had looked at the walls in the daylight and decided it would be best to texture the walls, as we originally agreed upon. Tuesday the 15th, 12:01pm, I received a text "Mario had an emergency repair up in Santa Fe today and tomorrow. I promise to have him out to finish on Thursday". Thursday the 17th, 3:44pm, no one had shown up so I texted to ask if there was a change of plans. Angela said he was supposed to show up after a morning job and said she would find out what was going on. I texted again at 5:15pm after not hearing anything and she said we were the priority and he would be at our house at 11am. At this point, the walls needed texture and the baseboard needed to be installed. I asked for both to be finished on the 18th to get this job over with, they replied they would do both on Saturday the 19th instead. I stated that was fine with me as long as they showed up in time to finish it all. They agreed, Saturday by 10am. Saturday the 19th, 7:59am, I received a text "Mario said it should take him a couple of hours to get it all done. He will be there after 12." I replied that we agreed on 10am and I would feel more comfortable with that since we already paid them to complete the job and it was starting to feel uncomfortable. Angela stated "Please remember the first day took a lot of time reframing that he never charged you on." I thought this was very rude, especially because that was a few hours out of one week, but said I had offered to pay and appreciate the generosity. Angela promised he would get it done and said he had to finish work on her car first. She texted at 12:25pm to say Mario was almost done and would be there within the hour. She texted again at 2:14pm, saying he should almost be there. Mario finally showed up, without the baseboard, and textured the walls. He suggested that we paint the walls first, which we had discussed as an option prior to beginning this project. We had to do quite a bit of cleaning to do because of the drywall dust and debris left behind but I finished painting the walls over the next few days. We had installed a vinyl plank floor prior to the drywall. It was covered in scratches and also suffered a few gouges during the drywall installation. I did not text again until January 4th, due to the holidays. Monday, January 4th, I let Angela know via text that the playhouse was painted and ready for the baseboards to be installed. She said she would check the schedule and let me know that afternoon. I said the weather was forecasted to be bad and it could wait, if needed. She texted back on the 6th that she was waiting on the weather to cooperate. Tuesday, January 12th, I texted and asked if Mario would be able to make it out that day. Angela responded "OMG, sorry. Water damage has him busy. Let me get back to you at end of today." I didn't get a text again until Thursday. Thursday, January 14th, 10:54am, I was told they would finish the job that weekend. I asked them to be more specific because we were making plans and I wanted to be at the house when the work was being done. Angela said she would check. 12:28pm, I had not heard back, so I inquired again. Angela said "I am asking him now". 5:32pm, I texted "five hours later and you still have not given me an answer. This is completely unprofessional." Angela said they were very busy and he would finish Sunday at noon. I replied that the job has taken much longer than we were told and requested that they show up on time because we were taking my daughters to a birthday party that afternoon. Angela told me that the delay was due to weather and the extra reframing work. Of the days they were supposed to have worked, there was rain/snow on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of December. The framing only took 2-3 hours (by Mario's own admission). Sunday, January 17th 11:46am, Mario texted me stating that he would "be there after we get out of church, about 1pm". I responded that he had promised by noon and it felt like he was feeding me more excuses. At this point, I felt as though I had been completely taken advantage of and was very frustrated. I certainly don't fault him for going to church, but he made another commitment to me that he was not keeping. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Mario and he told me that he was not going to come and finish the job and that I owed him for the framing labor and supplies anyway so we could just call it even. I refused on the basis that we had paid him to complete this work specifically and that I had already offered to pay for the extra work (but not the materials, because we provided those) and asked him to either complete the work, or refund my money. Mario insisted I owed him $200 for the framing and $20 for the trip(???). He reiterated that he was not going to finish the job, asked for my husband's phone number because he "is much easier to deal with" (my husband did not coordinate any of this), and told me that I "seemed to be very unhappy as a person"... Of course I'm unhappy. I paid for a job that was not completed and was treated disrespectfully for being upset about it. I rated Super Mario Drywall a "D" for price because I would have considered the price fair if he had completed the work and not tried to add $200 for framing out of spite. I rated them a "D" for quality because the work was not done, the clean up was incomplete, and they scratched the floor.

The weather during this time and holidays had a lot to do with the up and down of scheduling. Mrs. Taylors husband had informed us of a totally different approach as to what he wanted done on this playhouse for their daughters that by the way would not even be playing in it until Spring or Summer. They instilled their trust in our company to come and go as needed with leaving their side gate open because the work was done outside and therefore needed not to have anyone at home. Our scheduling and communication with customer was always at the for front of what would be done next on this project. Because they chose to build the playhouse themselves there was correction in framing that needed to be done, and therefore did take some time to correct. Concluding the last communication we had which was texting back and forth almost to a harassing point by customer only thing that needed to be done was baseboard, which we suggested to do after the painting was done. Nothing was going to make this customer happy, therefore, Mario said lets just leave this as is I wont charge any extra for framing as per discussion with husband and you can do the baseboard which cost us $20.00. Being in the profession you do have to take the good with the bad and once in a big while like years there is one customer that feels that trying to hurt a small company like ours is satisfying for them. Which is in this case. We stand by our decision in the job.

We chose Mario out of 3 estimates because of his good reviews, his willingness to work with us on the price, and the technique he would use. We had a tight schedule to work with because of trips we had planned, and he was flexible in scheduling the work. On the day he was to do the work, he had to push it back from the morning to the afternoon, but his wife Angela kept us fully informed as to the time of his arrival. Mario and his son came, covered each area they would be working in, prepared the sites, and did an excellent job of repairing each area, matching the existing plaster ceiling and wall textures, and did an excellent job cleaning up afterwords. In order to save some money, we had agreed that we would do the painting after Mario finished the work. After painting, it is pretty impossible to tell where the repaired areas were. My husband and I are very pleased with Mario's work....in fact, it's Super! I'd recommend Mario and would call on him again if I had the need.

The finished job is professional-looking and one would never know the ceiling had had any work done. It was important to me that Mario treated the dry mold areas above the ceiling so it would never come back (the roof had been replaced after the original water leak, which had solved the issue of water leakage). The area at the base of the airduct into the rooms was well-secured and appeared seamless with the rest of the work. We are really happy we hired Mario and Nico--excellent workers.
Description of Work: Repaired water damage surrounding indoor swamp cooler vent. Discovered mold and treated the area surrounding where he had removed all the wallboard near the mold. Apparently prior owner had painted over mold spots, which were easily visible when that paint was chipped away. Replaced wallboard that was removed & then plastered over that wallboard, & matched EXACTLY the pattern of the undamaged plaster in the room--important esp because it is a dining room.

Our company has no record of completing this job. Estimate was given back in 2013 but customer did not get our company to do the work. After 3 years maybe this customer is confused. Sounds like they should've saved their money if the husband knew how to do it.

Mario worked with me in determining the extent of the work he would perform and the price for that work. Once we agreed on both, he was able to perform the work with his team within a few days. The work was performed by 3 people in about 5 hours. At various times, I had different people at my house supervising and everybody agreed that they were professional. At one point, my 7 year old son became very interested in the work and Mario was happy to have him follow around and answered his questions. Mario was a little more expensive than other quotes that I received, but between responsiveness, professionalism, timing (scheduling and speed of work), quality, and interactions, he is well worth it.

I called for an estimate and he had to reschedule for the next day the next day he rescheduled later and later. When he arrived we liked the estimate and decided to have the company do the drywall work. We scheduled the work and was told by the wife that one worker would arrive at 9:30am and the owner and his son would arrive at 10:30am. The first worker arrived at 10:30am and seemed surprised that no one else was there yet he started to get things ready to start work. The owner and his son did not arrive till 12:00pm and the owner asked to use the microwave to warm his lunch and if they could have a soda and he sat in the living room visiting instead of working on the drywall. When the owner gave the bill for payment the 10% discount that was advertised on Angie's list was not listed on the bill. When asked about it he adjusted the price for the 10%. The wife had earlier stated when they would arrive and kept saying they will be there soon she stated that the 10% was on the bill and to make the check out to her not the company since they were changing accounts around. The owner seemed surprised that she had instructed us to do that for the payment. The owner and his son then left at 4:30pm to go to a football game and the other worker was left to finish up the work till about 5:30pm. The work that was done was good but the owner did not do a lot of it except standing and directing. When the other worker finished and left we found that they had not only had a soda each but all the sodas in the fridge were gone and there were several in the fridge before they arrived. Someone had put a bottle of Big Red soda in the freezer to chill and forgot to take it and if we had not checked it after they left it would have exploded in the freezer and made a mess. There was drywall material left on the carport and driveway. I am very disappointed in the actions of the company Super Mario Drywall I would not recommend this company to anyone for the fact I don't feel like they were professional and trustworthy when in our home. I have had work done in my home before and never had a person ask for soda or to warm lunch.
Description of Work: The bedroom ceiling, wall above the door and hall ceiling were replaced and painted after a leak in the roof caused the ceiling to fall.

Response from Super Mario Drywall LLC
Our company tries to get estimates in our schedule with 24hrs of phone call. This customers estimate was done within the 24hrs, a call and email was sent to customers daughter regarding delay of time. Communication is always at our highest priority whether it comes from phone call, email or text. Once again communication of time was given on day of job. It is true when Mario arrived he did ask to use microwave to warm their lunch, when in fact the customers daughter sat and shared their lunch with them. As Mario offered to her. She was very happy at the time she commented on ordering tamales from us. The sodas that were offered by the customer were accepted by our guys while having lunch. We are honest people with a honest reputation and would never just go into a customer's home and help ourselves so to speak. Our company is small and when jobs are bigger than having Mario do the work we have one other guy and our son. This particular job Mario was not able to do alone, so if he is working or talking does not matter as long as the job is being done. There are other contractors out there that will just go in and get the job done and get paid, we are very friendly and like to talk with our customers. Angie's list discount of 10% was applied as well as 10% senior discount, so 20% percent all together. Although, our company was in the process of changing accounts we always are in compliance with taxation and revenue department. Our son did have a football game that Mario and my son had to leave for but our worker was there to finish the job. They didn't leave without the job being completed. The rest of our reviews from jobs being done show the professionalism and comfort other customers have had. In conclusion as always we appreciate reviews and learn from each one to improve our company standards. We are currently looking for a portable microwave.

Super Mario returned my initial contact within 15 minutes, and we had an estimate appointment within a day. For all visits he always arrived with an hour or so of the scheduled time, and always called beforehand to keep me informed. The work was performed over two days (with sanding and texturing on the second day.) The results are excellent, and once painted (by me) it will be very difficult to notice that repairs were done. Nice job overall. And Mario is quite a character to boot.
Description of Work: Replace 3 sheets of drywall in garage ceiling. Tape, float and texture to match existing. Touch up previous inferior repairs. Spot mold treatment to prep for painting.
