STAR PAVING

I live at an apartment complex in Albuquerque, NM. I left on Thursday, September 1 and noticed my car was covered in cement from the side windows and windshield to the hood, fenders, and bumper. After dealing with the apartment management, I met with Ambrose, a meeting that was set up by the apartment manager. Ambrose is the foreman of the group who did the cement and roof work from Star Paving Company. He tried removed the cement with WD-40 with my permission. It did not work. He then tried to tell me that the damage did not look like cement, but plaster. He tried to question where I worked or had been. I had not moved my vehicle from August 23 until that day on September 1. He then stated that he would need to speak to his team and he'd come by the next morning to meet with me again. I let him know I'd be home and to contact me when he arrived. Instead, he called me after 10:30am when he left from examining my car without my knowledge or presence. He told me he was leaving to get cement dissolver to put on my car, I said no. He told me then that his "hands were tied" and he was "trying to work with me." I let him know that I tried to cooperate with his experiments the day before and I would not allow any more harmful chemicals to be placed on my vehicle to further damage it. He told me to send him an email stating I denied his request to put cement dissolver on my car. I sent it immediately to both Ambrose at Star Paving and my apartment manger. Since then I cannot get a call or email back from Star Paving Company despite REPEATED attempted to reach them. Don't trust this company with any work. Read their reviews on Google Reviews and everywhere else online. It's nothing but negative comments about how they don't stand behind their work, they don't care about the damage they cause, and they are extremely rude.

Upon recommendation of my builder, I hired Star to pave my driveway once my new home was completed. After a few months, large (large) depressions (like six feet round) began to form in the driveway that held water up to several inches deep. I called Star and they eventually did come out and "patch" the depressions. Ok, I was happy with that. Shortly thereafter, chunks of the asphalt started breaking away from the edges of the driveway. They were about the size of a dinner plate. I called Star and left a message. No returned calls. I waited several months as it was Summer and I suspected it was their busy time. I called again and got hold of the owner, Joe, on the phone. He was incredibly short, mean (like a bully) when I reminded him of my problem. I was kind of shocked because I did not expect him to be so curt when I politely explained my problem. He said he would send someone out to look at it and pretty much hung up on me. I waited for several months and still nothing. In desperation, I contacted my builder who sent Joe an e-mail about the problem. No response from Joe. Nothing. I finally talked to my builder today and he said that he will never use Joe or Star Paving again nor would he recommend them to anyone else. He said that if Joe didn't respond to his e-mail, he wasn't going to respond to me. So, $8000. later, I'm stuck with a driveway that frankly, is a mess. I've tried to be nice and work this out but all I"m getting from Star is a brick wall. I'd have to say that I am very disappointed in them and their attitude. I would never never use them as they do not provide a satisfactory product. Enough said.......
